Advice on negative pg tests?

Hey! Just looking for some experience! Has anyone actually been pregnant and took a while to show positive on a hpt? I have a few symptoms and in general feel like I could be! My AF would've been due between last Thursday and yesterday but took a hpt last Wednesday and yesterday and both show negative :( I'm using Superdrug's cheap make. I'm NEVER late for AF so feeling positive. Almost every post I've read seems that everyone tests positive before their AF is due so feeling a bit disappointed at the moment!

@Kate123cl that’s exactly how I felt though.. I’ve still been having cramps, like I’m going to start af then nothing.. woke in the night with cramps!!! Not sure what I’m meant to be doing now??!!! Do I ring the drs... thing is I don’t like my doctor very much! Xxx

@Rose2887 lol I hate my doctor too! Had you taken another test this morning? I'd say your line is a definite positive so I'd make an appointment I took a test this morning with a fr and it was negative so I doubt it! Xxx

Well I hadn’t but the one I was waiting for in the post has come so just done it and no denying it now.... xxx

Just spoken to dr and he says he think I’m due my period.. if he goes from withdrawal bleed and the test on Sunday was super faint.. there is hope Kate!!!!! He also said he wouldn’t book me in with midwife yet as I’m so early I may mc!! Charming . Xxxx

He says he calculating I’m due af between today and Thursday xx

Was reading your thread, that’s definitely a positive , huge congratulations!! Your dr sounds like an idiot!!
If it gives you any hope I didn’t get a positive until CD 39 of a 32 day cycle & was very faint and never got any darker . Currently a very large 8months pregnant!! Every single woman is different , this is my third pregnancy and my first two I got a very strong positive before my period was due.
I’m a good bit older now and this bump took two years to appear.
Keep going and be kind to yourself , don’t judge yourself for peeeing on your tenth stick , or scrutinising every symptom during that horrible tww, everyone does it and it helps you feel like you’re in control of something that you have no control
Over . I found the fertility friend app very helpful and measuring my basal body temp helped my pin point when I was ovulating.

@sauvignonblancplz hey :) it’s been a journey!!! I’m yet to tell anyone bar dp of course. It’s going to be a busy year as we have just reserved a house to move into next March, we were expecting conceiving to take some time but it’s happened quickly, I’ve been on mumsnet for a while reading other people’s situations and we are all very different... I could tell soon on then something wasn’t right but the tests kept saying negative, it was only yesterday I really felt pregnant though... first day I felt yuck lol.
Drs are useless, they make us self diagnose and worry ourselves! How are you feeling? Are you nervous? I feel slightly nervous already but I guess that’s natural!! Xx

Hey girls, can I join?

My withdrawal bleed from Dianette was 2 weeks late. It finally came but was very light, hardly any red blood and lasted 2-3 days. I took an FRER last night after throwing up Saturday! Can anyone see a line?!

I’m not pregnant but in regards to the original question of testing negative until later in pregnancy, it’s more than possible. Last time I was pregnant, I wasn’t ttc at the time and so I didn’t test until I was about 5 weeks pregnant. My tests were still not very dark even that far along. They were obviously positive but far from blazing

@Bubblegum89 thank you. That's reassuring. Although, I would probably be around 6 weeks now and still no line :( so I doubt that I am! X

That bottom Sainsburys one was what my positive was like, I thought it was an evap line as it was so thin... maybe it was a positive then!

Kate123cl - do you see it on the normal photo or just the invert one?!

I showed my mum and she said she can't see anything so mixed reviews really! xx

@mai5x It does look positive... can you retest? The line may get more prominent as time goes on... you could hardly see mine a couple of days ago, if you look back!! X

I haven't got another one, so annoying! It would be best to get a FRER wouldn't it? x

@mai5x def a frer. I done a Poundland one today I had in the draw to compare and it’s so faint you wouldn’t know I was pregnant based on those.. I’ll post a pic later :)

@Rose2887 how did you feel physically before bfp? I've NEVER felt this nauseous in my life. Could easily be sick if I thought about it. Also, massive headache that doesn't seem to be clearing! Xx
