Hi Ladies, thought I would just grab the bull by the proverbial horns and get this going. Hope the name is okay. MrsMc I am afraid we will all be thinking of you and your DH (and his light saber) everytime we post

Too many individual posts to go back and answer so I thought I'd start with a positive message for all of us from the March thread and for any MC newbies...

Today is my 1 month MN anniversary and I do not know what I would have done without you all. It is the ability to get on here and "let it all out" that keeps me going. I have been blessed to have found you all and whatever lies in my future - your kindness and advice will stay with me forever.

Big Love and Hip hip hooray for a fabulous new positive thread POPSY xxxx

p.s. Gilly get your arse down to london - we can drink the bars dry of Rose (purely medicinal of course )

Great list Ellie - night out on the tiles - you go girlfriend (ricky lake coming back again !
Herby I want a list from you - 3 things that make you get out of bed every day (perving at Jamie Foxx is already taken by me ;-})
Wales eh? Hooray - you get to get loads of fresh air and chill and forget about RL for a while (like being on MN but with extra fresh air)
We might be going to a friends caravan in wales in July - am excited to take my car off road - these friends very green and hate it so will make them walk to the pub

right, my advice is to go to your gp and refuse to move til they get you an appt. insist on being referred to a counsellor. they cant expect you to deal with all this without any support ffs the nhs makes me so fecking angry!!!!

herbaceous · 16/05/2007 12:27

OK Popsy, as it's you

1 Seeing my lovely pusscats run in a matching pair down the stairs as I go to feed them
2 Seeing an old friend tonight, who is always cheerful in the face of adversity
3 Having a hug with my honey

lissielou · 16/05/2007 12:27

popsy the good news is that on my best day my dad isnt coming down after all!

dh wont know whats hit him!

EllieG · 16/05/2007 12:36

Hurrah!
That was you on the smacking neghbour thread wasn't it lissielou?
SO wrong not to call someone I hope she does

lissielou · 16/05/2007 12:40

i have every faith. stories like that upset me. every week theres a child in the news who has been abused, and it can be stopped

EllieG · 16/05/2007 12:42

Exactly. People need to not be scared to report things though I think people worry about consequences, but consquences for the child are much worse if you don't tell.

popsy76 · 16/05/2007 12:57

Hi herby they are fab things - i love it when my cat runs around the house as if she is chasing something but there is nothing there (have worked out is always after she has been out for a poo ha ha - david bellamy me!)
Old friends are the best - you can just be yourself and let it all out - in fact they love you us the more in spite of our craziness ha ha
We are also your friends now so coming on MN and letting it all out has to be a good one (I really look forward to it - my sis said I am relatively nonmad compared to a friend of ours ttc and i said is cos of MN)
Having hug from your man is just the best. The day after ERPC I hugged DH and felt this amazing rush of feeling ...oh this is what being in love is all about (being loved back)

lissielou · 16/05/2007 13:18

popsy, i love your posts. they are so lovely!

torres · 16/05/2007 13:29

Hi all,

I am feeling very sorry for myself today! The most horrendous period pains I've ever had started yesterday at work- I was seriously considering taking a cab straight home. They've kept me up all night, and I'm ashamed to say I've phoned in sick today as it hurts too much! Rather annoyed as it's only CD22 and if Af arrives soon, my LP will only be 8 days. Bugger! after all the bding I thought we might be in with a shot.

Hoping this painful period is a one off, don't think my boss would approve of me taking time off each month for lady matters!

Glad you're back basil, though sorry to hear about your painful AF. My first AF after mc was not too bad so I thought I had escaped.

and big congrats katyh, so glad you got some happy news before the post mortem results. Did you actually have a chance to put your lengthy conception plan into action? I'm wondering about getting a fertility monitor- any excuse for new toys!

popsy- hello! know exactly what you mean about hugging DH. I was home alone in my premenstrual state last night and watched the program on widows which made me bawl my eyes out. When DH arrived home from the pub, i gave him such a big hug I think I hurt him. It made me appreciate what I have.

wheely are you ok hon? you've gone quiet on us. I hope you're not too down after AF's arrival and your docs appointment.

Now, any tips on dealing with period pain? I am such a wimp! I have been on the sofa under a blanket watching TV all morning, necking painkillers, clutching a hot water bottle and eating mars bars. Oh and texting DH every half hour to remind him of how much pain I'm in, just incase he has forgotten!!

lissielou · 16/05/2007 13:36

how many afs have you had since your mc?

torres · 16/05/2007 13:39

Hi Lissie!

Only 1 which seemed fairly normal, so this is just the second one brewing. I'm feeling like a wimpy teenager moaning about period pain- guess I've been lucky in the past!

lissielou · 16/05/2007 13:43

totally normal!! after my 4th mc (2nd after ds) i had 1 af that lasted 3d and was really just spotting. 20d later i had a horrendous af that lasted 15d and was so painful that you could feel the cramps on my tummy.

a mc is a traumatic event for your body and it takes a while for things to get back on track

popsy76 · 16/05/2007 13:45

Ughhh poor you Torres (ooh just thinking of a nice glass of chilean red). My mum used to give me a hot toddy (whisky, honey and lemon) while regailing me with stories of her mum making her clean the floor as exercise helps . You do know BD sports are good for AF pain don't you (poor DH!)

lissie If I could find a job that involved talking and hugging and understanding and telling funny stories to make the hurt stop then that would be my perfect job (add a few post-work Roses and would be in Jab heaven!)

p.s. no word from DH about naughty text...am wracked with hot prickly shame that might have sent to colleague or his mum or something

OP posts:
lissielou · 16/05/2007 13:47

lol, can you double check your sent folder?

my1stbaby · 16/05/2007 13:47

hello ladies!! am so happy big as have the afternoon off, yay!!!! all i have to do now is just answer e-mails and watch MN thread, drink cups of tea and steal dh easter egg (he still got a huge one from thorntons give by his mum, bless )

lissie: did your cycle goes back to normal fairly quickly after m/c? i've just had 1 cycle after m/c and it's anO and on the 2nd one now which is looking to go that way too .

popsy76 · 16/05/2007 13:53

Hi my1stdayoff sooo jealous! I am stuck at computer - will be home late as doing a late night course for horse owners that have not prepared for yikes!
lissie checked last text and was to him so maybe he is just torturing me (or contacting his solicitor). God am so impulsive - must learn some restraint!
Torres sounds like this sort of AF is quite common in our case - oh dear - just waiting for that to happen to me next yikes (just looked back over diary and have had a light three day followed by really bad cramping 7 day last year!)

OP posts:
lissielou · 16/05/2007 13:53

they varied. after the v early mcs i had a couple of months before they got back to normal.

torres · 16/05/2007 13:55

Thanks lissie- I guess my poor womb is doing it's best to get better, I just need to learn to be less impatient! Poor you with a 15d AF- you must be super woman. I will be down the doctors demanding valium and morphine if that happens.

mmm.. now you've got m thinking of alcohol popsy! I must admit, I had wondered about a gin and tonic earlier for medicinal purposes but felt a bit embarrassed that I was watching this morning and still in my pjs. I'd have been legless before lunchtime! Exercise- I know, I know- but even a walk round the block requires getting dressed and off my arse. Mind you, choclate supplies are dwindling so I may be forced out! Like the bd idea but as I have been moaning incessantly to DH how truly ill I am, it might be his final proof that I am doolally.

Can't believe you've not heard back about your saucy text!! OMG!! I'm feeling stressed for you- can you imagine if you sent it elsewhere! I take it you weren't wearing your pearly thong then!!

popsy76 · 16/05/2007 13:59

Don't worry about time of day - is way past 6pm in many countries of the world as I type this ha ha
Actually I did something similar today - ate haribo on way back from spinning (7.30am) as had the shakes...i felt dirty afterwards (but did the job - tee hee)
Don't worry pearly thong is still in wrapper and after boob-gate affair I may leave it there - am no good at this seduction lark

OP posts:
my1stbaby · 16/05/2007 14:04

Emphatise with you torres Used to get bad period pain but never found good remedy for it. I get very grumpy, throw things about and feel better afterwards

popsy: what's this about course for horse owner? thought you teach human anatomy or am i being thick???

popsy76 · 16/05/2007 14:12

Animal anatomy at a vet school - but human stuff too. Gotta get the bones out and show horse owners whats fab about horse legs (hence F & C for tea yum - am not paying so actually less calories )

OP posts:
my1stbaby · 16/05/2007 14:21

ahhh me understand now . since you are an expert can you spot a winner at the races? placed a bet once on the grand national on a whim-liked the spots on the jockey's kit and won myself £70!!! not a gambling type but excitement every now and then increases life expectancy i heard

popsy76 · 16/05/2007 14:31

yeah well that is probably your best bet to be honest - we do loads of snazzy stuff with measuring horses form and basically are so many different factors is better to go with fav colours (or at least I do - oops just talked myself out of a job ho hum)
Very humid here at PB - have had to sluice hands down with cold water as fingers swelling - hate it when wedding rings get tight! I love winter for the loose-ring feeling that happens even after 3 doughnuts and a frothy coffee (I just said loose ring - my DH would be pissing himself at that - I however am way too grown up )

EllieG · 16/05/2007 14:35

I've just been to the gym in my lunch hour. I am soooooo smug.
