Have been slowly coming off antidepressants and stopped taking the pill (using condoms) to get body back to normal ready to try for no.2 in June, also started taking pregnacare. I know its early to start posting but got my first proper period today so just been on site to check fertile dates for months again and think we're going to go for it in June - ooooooooooooo, very excited. Just wondered if there was anyone else out there planning way ahead cos i wouldn't talk to anyone in RL life about it so far ahead, other than dh!

I am ttc now but expect to meet you on the June thread. Good luck in advance
Its not too early to start posting and June will come round soon enough. Fingers crossed.
There's also ttc#2 thread you could join

We are thinking to have my coil removed in may, so count me in. Don't want to talk to anyone in RL yet as well (I stick to the 12 weeks rule, and we haven't even started yet). Was lurking on the mentioned thread but haven't posted as I felt it was too early. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, too!

cityangel · 17/04/2007 21:54

Great stuff looking forward to some June buddies then. Might get lucky before then but either way I'll be there with you

Iwant I have a personal question that you really don't need to answer... what's the coil like as a contraceptive option? Am a former pill bunny and know very little about the alternatives.

iwantanotherone · 17/04/2007 22:31

Hi cityangel, ask anything you want! After having dd (well, even a little before) I was fed up with the pill and felt that any hormonal contraception would be no option for me anymore. I just did not want anything anymore that would alter anything in my body in such a way iyswim.
I talked to gp and opted for a non-hormonal (copper) coil (after dd, but got pg on second cycle so did not worry about contraception then, of course). I did not have any trouble - no pains, no cramping, no difference in periods (they have become heavier after getting off the pill anyway, sorry if tmi).
What I really like about the coil is that it does not change anything hormonally (?) and that I do not have to worry about contraception e.g. think of taking the pill every morning or do sth. whenever we're at it. Can be a real downer iykwim . Hope this helps, just ask if you have any other questions. Good luck to you, too, fingers crossed!!

manamana · 21/04/2007 21:32

thanks for your replies, sorry was away with work this week and didn't have a chnace to check back.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that those of you already tying get a bfp before june .
how many dcs have you already got, what age gap are you hoping for?
iwantanother - i know what you mean about the 12 week rule plus pre-conception weeks! thank god for mumsnet, i only discovered it halfway through my 1st pregnancy but 1st time round some v close friends were also trying and they told us and she guessed i was pregnant before i did the test, but noone else in rl is trying that i know of so will be getting it all out of my system on here!

manamana, I have a dd of 20 months and hope for an age gap of 2.6 - 3 years. Depends on how fast it happens... How about you? Am getting kind of excited by now. Always wanted another summer baby, but I think late winter/early spring is absolutely fine, can go out with lo right away then. Could do that in winter as well, but weather tends to get nicer during spring time. There's nobody in RL I can talk to so enjoy having mumsnet. Of course I could talk to friends, but I feel this is just between dh and me and I do not want to put unneccessary additional pressure on myself. Hope we can keep this thread going.

manamana · 22/04/2007 10:55

ooh my ds is nearly 20 months, late august baby which was lovely (apart from being sweltering in the maternity ward). you're right its the pressure that stops you talking to people in rl, we fell really quickly first time round but i know it can be very different 2nd time so keeping schtum and saying we'll wait a while to the (many) people who ask when the next one is coming! I'm off to a baby shower today for one of my nct friends so v exciting. take care.

Gursky · 23/04/2007 21:33

Hi - this all sounds really familiar! My ds is nearly 20 months too. We have been trying for a couple of months, but I really hope June is the month for us. Everyone at work seems to be having babies and I am finding it harder and harder to hide how broody I am. Lovely to have someone to share it all with

manamana · 28/04/2007 22:04

ooh yes gursky, i am getting more and more broody as lots of people who have had babies after my ds are already pregnant again . Minor spanner in the works though, I have a smear on Monday and have just realised that I should wait until I get the all clear before I start trying and last time it was a couple of months. Would just wait but just had one that came back inconclusive which i thought meant they didn't get a good enough sample but i read somewhere else on mnet that it means that there may have been some dodgy cells but not enough to confirm - hmmm, anyway looks like i may be waiting until June/july to start trying once i get the all-clear [fingers crossed emoticon]

I've been counting back when I would like a baby and realised that my best time (hubbys a teacher) would be to start trying after my june period approx any time after the 25th. I haven't had a smear test for ages I got stuff through the door after my lo and just wanted a bit of 'left alone down there' time have just remembered reading your post.

What preparation apart from pregnacare are you taking. Should I be stopping alchol any time soon?

know what you mean about taking to people in rl. I've just told my dh and bf (she's just told me she's 10 wks)
oh and dd (16m) but she looks at me like i'm crazy

manamana · 03/05/2007 23:15

hi quilthugger, not doing much really. just taking pregnacare, was planning on gettng fit and losing a bit of weight but am not exactly overweight and have decided that I'm already much fitter than i was pre-pregnancy last time (throuh my toddler carrying training programme) so am going learn to love my spare tire. have bee on the ovulation calendar to plpan when 'fertile' days are, and now just waiting to finish my ADs. Laat time I got pregnant was December in the midst of office parties and I conituned to drink masses that xmas before i knew i was pregnant so am thinking that anything this time will be cut down from that. But, yes - get your smear done. My friend had cervical cancer a couple of years ago and I have become quite evangelical about it since - she ended up with a hysterectomy aged 31 with no kids

Hi, I am really getting excited now, will have my coil removed next week.... OMG, can't believe I we'll be ttc again.... I cannot tell you how many people in rl have asked me about # 2 recently! Let me know how you are all doing, please!

manamana · 14/05/2007 11:48

hello iwant, quite excited here too! Just been to the drs to talk about fully coming off my ADs - I only have 7 pills to go! She says even if I have wthdrawal effects they should only last 3-4 weeks and she thinks as I have reduced dose slowly she thinks I should be fine. So wait for a couple of weeks and see how I feel. Also got my smear results back v quickly and all clear. AND had serious conversation about ttc with dh last night and he's up for it asap so.... may be all systems go for next fertile period which is in 2 weeks! we even got to the name discussion last night

iwantanotherone · 14/05/2007 20:55

manamana, let's keep our fingers and toes and everything else crossed that we'll join the antenatal clubs soon! Glad everything is looking so well for you, good luck for your time without ADs!! C-U!

spugs · 20/05/2007 14:43

Hello, Im hopefully going to be ttc in the next couple of weeks so fully expect to be trying in june. Im still bleeding after a m/c but desperatly want to be pregnant again. Im taking santagen pre natal vitimins and omega 3 oils. bit worried about how long it will take to get pregnant again, managed to fall pregnant twice after using no contraception as a one off which resulted in dd1 and m/c and when we planned to get pregnant it took 4 mths for dd2. I know thats not long but im one of these very impatient people who wants things straight away

manamana · 21/05/2007 11:00

hi spugs. really sorry to hear about your m/c. having spent ages worrying about whether this was the right time to try because of work/moving house/my depression we went for it at the weekend and are now officially ttc and i can't believe how excited I am about it! Think we're a it early for prime fertile time but was fun practising. I'm like you though, very impatient and we managed it first cycle last time so am trying to tell myself to be prepared for a longer wait this time.

OP posts:
spugs · 21/05/2007 13:05

well my bleedings stopped today - hopefully for good, i just did a test and got a positive though the nurse i spoke to said this could happen up to a week afterwards. thing is though could my body still ov if it still hs pregnancy hormone in it or should i wait to start ttc till i get a neg in about a weeks time? any ideas, thanks

manamana · 21/05/2007 15:20

good to hear the bleeding has stopped. fraid i'm not v well-informed but there are lots of people on the conception boards who are so i'd post another thread to ask specifically about it.

OP posts:
feedmenow · 21/05/2007 16:06

Spugs, sorry to hijack but thought you might like to try the ttc after mc thread to ask about ov after mc. I don't know the answer but am sure there are ladies there who do!

HI all.

I'm still here and on the 9th cycle of TTC CD3. Been to Dr's this am and have blood tests to do on CD 21. Anyone know anything about what they test for??

According to the dr i " just have to relax and BD everyother day from the end of AF " As if it's that easy!! But she was actually really nice.

HI. No bloods at day 3 just 21. I'm just trying to stay as relaxed about the whole thing as possible. I really want a spring baby so you never know. Lots of BD this month .
