Have been slowly coming off antidepressants and stopped taking the pill (using condoms) to get body back to normal ready to try for no.2 in June, also started taking pregnacare. I know its early to start posting but got my first proper period today so just been on site to check fertile dates for months again and think we're going to go for it in June - ooooooooooooo, very excited. Just wondered if there was anyone else out there planning way ahead cos i wouldn't talk to anyone in RL life about it so far ahead, other than dh!

doggiesayswoof, very wise. I told people (again, cos I thought it would happen quickly) and wish I hadn't as I feel they're all looking expectantly at me every month, if you'll pardon the pun. Having said that I find it nice to be able to actually talk to people in RL when it gets me down a bit. Although I have a situation where a friend is also trying and we both know each other is trying. Nice to chat about the ups and downs now, but don't know how it'll be when/if one of us gets there first.

I will probably tell my best friend in RL, and have a good friend on here who I will keep updated daily , but not telling everyone (I told my boss last time ).

Doggiesayswoof - will be thinking of you too!

doggiesayswoof · 24/05/2007 16:42

Thanks Egg.

When dh and I decided to try for #1, my sister was also trying - I only knew because she rang me in tears one night after 9 months of ttc and I had no idea until then. I was absolutely dreading falling pg before she did - however daft it sounds, I would have felt really guilty. Luckily she beat me to it by a few months.

It really opened my eyes, they took a year to conceive, and there wasn't anything obviously 'wrong' - I was too naive to realise that could happen.

UpsyDaisy · 24/05/2007 16:53

Hello!
would it be ok if I joined you on this thread?
I have a ds whose just turned one, and are so wishing for a little miracle again....not sure if this time ttc is going to be easy?!
I didn't have the support of mn last time....so this time it would be really nice!
I am getting a few signs at the minute, but I have convinced myself that it's in my head....we'll have to wait and see....

Egg · 24/05/2007 17:23

Hi UpsyDaisy - I was on your other thread trying to give symptom advice! I remember last time I would go to bed every night with my Miriam Stoppard book reading the early symptoms and trying to think whether I had experienced any .

Doggie - I learnt a lot more tact after TTC last time. I realised that flippant comments to friends / colleagues saying "so when do you think you'll have kids" would not always be welcome. I found out one friend at work had been TTC for 7 years and had been having IVF, and people were always on at her saying "oooh, you've been married for ages, don't you want any kids, you'd better not leave it too late" etc etc.

UpsyDaisy · 24/05/2007 17:40

Hello Egg......i'm sure if I try and convince myself for long enough then it must be true!
must remember to enjoy the trying...sometimes I forget that bit...poor dh!

tigerschick · 24/05/2007 21:47

When we were ttc dd we told a very few close friends. My closest friend and her husband knew that both us and some other friends of theirs had been trying for a while so they decided not to leave it to start. They were expecting within a month! Some people hey!?!

This time I've only told one frined - not the same one - who had trouble last time and took clomid. She knows what I might be facing so I feel 'safe' talking to her. It helps.

manamana · 25/05/2007 10:15

Nope, we haven't told anyone - for the same reasons. My brother and sil were v excited the first time they ttc and toild us all when they were planning to start about 1 year before they did, she was very excited but we did all have to hear about last pill etc - they were lucky and it happened within about 4 months but she got really fed up with everyone knowing and helpful comments from parents etc, and by the time they got the bfp it felt like the longest pregnancy in history!
My odd bug has been confirmed as an inner ear virus which makes me feel like I have vertigo whenever I move! Still managed another BD yesterday as it was cd14! Saw gp who prescribed me something to get rid of symptoms but when i explained there was a possibility i might be pregnant (fingers crossed ) he said they were safe to take but he wouldn't unless i felt really bad. So, am off work for potentially another week, sitting v still except for the odd burst of MN until head starts spinning. BORING

(hi tiger-how are u?? )

toomuchtimeonline · 25/05/2007 11:41

Hi everyone - can I join? I'm hoping to start TTC in June and have just began posting after many months of lurking on MM.

doggiesayswoof · 25/05/2007 11:43

Hello again toomuchtimeonline

Silly question alert: does cd mean cycle day?

toomuchtimeonline · 25/05/2007 11:48

Just to add - we aren't telling anyone about TTC too as don't want everyone asking lots of questions all of the time if it takes a long time to happen. I've just posted a separate thread on alcohol and TTC but was wondering how you all manage to hide the fact that your TTC or possibly pregnant from people at social events?

toomuchtimeonline · 25/05/2007 11:48

sorry doggiesayswoof - meant to add I'm new so not sure, but think CD is cycle day.

doggiesayswoof · 25/05/2007 11:51

Re the not drinking - I tend to say that I'm doing a healthy living thing and having a break for a few weeks, or just that I feel a bit under the weather and don't feel like it that day, or the old favourite - I'm on antibiotics...

People who know you well will probably get suspicious but hey!

UpsyDaisy · 25/05/2007 11:57

hello....
feeling a bit rubbish today....really thought that this month was it, but getting strong stabbing pains, which I don't get normally....but assume af is on it's way.....boo hoo
Hope everyone else is having a good day, sunshines gone in just about to rain....washing's out....my cue to leave and get it in I think!

tigerschick · 25/05/2007 16:18

Hi everyone

Spent all afternoon in the hospital with dh to see about his knee op. Turns out we just have to keep phoning the consultant and hope that they get a space to do him sooner than they thought. NHS is so slow but it's about £2300 to go private

Anyway. Managed to get some bding in last night and as I have no idea what my cycle is doing, that's always a good thing

UpsyDaisy - sorry you're a bit low today. Hope things improve soon. If your af does show up you are still on the right thread - as you'll surely be ov-ing in June.

McDreamy · 25/05/2007 16:19

Oh blimey here I am on day 14 drinking a lovely white wine spritzer!!

feedmenow · 25/05/2007 19:05

I don't worry too much about not drinking, personally. That is when I'm ttc, not when I'm pg! The way I see it is that you could spend months/years not drinking "just in case", plus if you find out early that you are pg you can just stop then - as far as I remember, an embryo does not absorb anything from the mother for the first few weeks, so by the time it does then you'd know you were pg and would have stopped anyway! Hope that all makes sense...

tigerschick · 25/05/2007 20:51

I agree feedmenow. When I was pg with dd I didn't know until I was 8 weeks (irregular cycles) and was reasonably intoxicated at least twice before I found out. Dd is fine - and the midwife told me she would be when I brought it up at my booking appointment! Tho I heard on the news today that they are now starting to recommend that you don't drink at all while pg or ttc!! Best put the bottle down now then

McDreamy · 25/05/2007 20:52
tigerschick · 25/05/2007 20:53

Hmmm - should I stop eating the jelly that is full of fresh fruit ... and cava?

toomuchtimeonline · 25/05/2007 21:20

Nah - fresh fruit is good for you

Egg · 26/05/2007 07:42

Morning, lots to catch up since I last looked. AF due today or tomorrow, had quite a lot of period pain in night so am pretty sure it is on its way.

I used to be quite a drinker before DS, and when we first started TTC, I cut down to one or two here and there, but after a few months I got back on the bottle as it was depressing enough getting BFN's all the time without having to be sober every night as well! I don't drink that much anymore, so am not too worried this time. Last time I told most of my close friends anyway, as they would have guessed straight away.

I have a friend who didn't find out until she was four months pregnant, she drank for those four months and her daughter is now 16 and is stunning and intelligent .

scorpio1 · 26/05/2007 10:34

Good Morning, im sort of flitting between here and may at the moment.cd37, af due in four days-ish, if depending on last cycle.

tiger-nice to see you, thought you had gone! you ok?

everyone else ok?
