Thought someone better start a new thread as we're getting close to the 1000 mark!
Ready - what's your question?

OP posts:
BellaBear · 14/04/2007 18:35

Ready, can you do me a favour? See if you can see my photo now, I've just felt odd about showing photos so I've made some 'mumsnet mates', can you check if it works?
Cheers!

seaside72 · 14/04/2007 21:13

LOL Ready - have photos of both our dogs wearing DH's glasses as well !!

Bella - I have given up on the monthly threads also as they move so quickly and there are so many people! Feel free to ask away about CM

nomoremagnolia · 14/04/2007 21:30

Good thought Bella, I have made the wedding one mn mates only, but think I have added everyone on here to my list. If you can't view it let me know, I've probably set it up wrong!
How are you all? It's been quiet on here today, everyone out enjoying the sun while I was working

OP posts:
Ready · 15/04/2007 10:49

I set mine to Mumsnet mates too Bella, but I don't know if it works?? It didn't when I tried once before, and I emailed MUMSNET about it, but still haven't received a response. Maybe if someone else emails with the same question they might take it seriously?? Although I can still see nomoremagnolia's - so perhaps we are doing something wrong?? Nomore - care to lend a hand??

I'm the same, I can't keep up with the monthly threads anymore, so I just stick with the few I am on.

Bella - What's up with you CM?

seaside72 · 15/04/2007 11:44

PMSL Ready

I set my photos to MN mates only too but your right it doesn't seem to work

Ready · 15/04/2007 13:40

Maybe if you email Mumsnet, they might take notice. I have tried a few times now, to no avail. Rude.

BellaBear · 15/04/2007 15:51

Well, maybe it is case sensitive? In which case it should work now.

Re CM - it was just that I have had quite a lot (yay!) (poss due to grapefruit juice?) and earlier than previous months, and have been getting down to it accordingly! And I wanted to share!

Ready · 15/04/2007 16:46

I have copied and pasted my mates names, but it still isn't working. I even put myself as a "mate" to see if it would work. It hasn't. Tut.

Great to hear you are having an abundance of CM - and getting action in too Fingers crossed for you, chick! So no more grapefruit juice as soon as you think you have ovulated. Switch to pineapple juice now! I have 2 bottles of organic pineapple juice in my fridge ready for that temp rise!

BellaBear · 15/04/2007 17:11

really? Why not? (grapefruit juice that is) We finihed yesterday anyway.

Yes, I put myself in as a mate but it hasn't worked. Ah well.

I've knitted a baby cardigan! It took me all week, and with only one significant mistake (you can't button it all the way up unless the baby has a tiny tiny neck) it is bloody amazing. So much so, in fact that I am going to keep it. And hopefully not turn into a crazy lady with no children but drawerfuls of baby clothes.

Ready · 15/04/2007 17:20

Oh Bella, I am so ! I took up knitting last year, and so far all I have made is a scarf! I am not very good I really want to be able to knit something for my baby. I am going to attempt a blanket as soon as I have managed to successfully cast-off the scarf. I think because I am not very good at it, I don't make the effort. I'd rather do a painting with my spare time. I should perservere though. I bet you are so proud of yourself!!

Well, I am not sure about the grapefruit juice, I just read somewhere that it is a uterine stimulant, so not good for implantation purposes. But then I am only repeating what I have heard - by no means totally accurate. Pineapple juice on the other hand, is apparently good for implantation. That and brazil nuts.

BellaBear · 15/04/2007 17:27

Oh crap - I hate pineapple juice, but having read that I am going to have to go and buy some! Do chocolate covered brazils count?

I was in the same position as you a year ago, and then I decided to make a blanket after my MIL showed me how to cast off. SO I bought some lovely baby wool (Rowan soft baby) and it made all the difference, it was so lovely to hold that it was really nice to knit, and I knitted much faster! I wish I could paint a picture!

Ready · 15/04/2007 17:37

I do abstract art, with acrylics - so it's not really the same as painting a picture. I couldn't do a bowl of fruit or a portrait or anything like that!
I will perservere with the knitting. It is really therapeutic.

Chocolate covered brazil nuts would definitely count. I am sure a bit of choc won't negate the effects! 5 a day after OV apparently - they are quite fatty - but it's good fats, mind!

I love pineapple juice, so I am chuffed that someone told me about it being good for implantation.

nomoremagnolia · 15/04/2007 18:44

Not sure what I did with my pics to make it work, though I only made the wedding one mates only, so if you can see the cats and the ball one but not the wedding one then it's not working as it should. never seem to get these things first time round.
We've had friends over this afternoon for a bbq and met our best man's new girlfriend and she's lovely, I'm really pleased for him, the last one was going nowhere.
Pineapple juice is lovely with malibu and a dash of lemonade!

Mrs McJnr you are so good at keeping these threads going and making us all feel welcome - thanks
I'm suffering from Sunday night syndrome tonight and have been having probs sleeping

Hope you're all well.

Woodmouse · 16/04/2007 08:39

Morning ladies - what a lovely weekend it was in the sunshine. i think I am most jealous of Seaside living on the coast instead of smelly old London - bet it was gorgeous!!! DH and I went and sat out in the park yesterday and I had a funny feeling watching all the mums pushing buggies and went all wistful.

Bellabear - really jellous of you being able to knit. My mum made the finest little white wool cardigans for me when I was a baby and they still look gorgeous today. Wish I was as talented as you.

Good idea on the photos everyone. I don't want people in RL to see on the Conception thread, so if anyone hears from MN or manages to post them only for "friends" then let me know!

MrsMcJ - did you have a nice weekend? What was the weather like in Scotland. I still miss it like mad.

Hespera - hope you are doing better today and managed to get some sleep.

Are we going to have a roll call? Was everyone good over the weekend - grapefruit juice, rest, chocolate covered brazil nuts? I had a few glasses of cold wine to toast the start of summer, although I don't feel guilty at all - it was great!

geekInPigtails · 16/04/2007 14:39

Hello ladies! Hope you don't mind me barging in again, but I still don't know anyone on the antenatal threads as well as you guys!

Hope you all had a fab Easter, you've certainly been busy on here - it's taken me ages to catch up with everything since I went away! Had a lovely week visiting my parents and then DHs, lots of country walks (short slow ones!) in wonderful weather And just before I went away, had my booking in appointment with the midwife, and she seems lovely. AND my first ultrasound scan is only one week away now!!! So I'm all happy and excited Can't wait for you all to join me though... Is anyone in the 2ww now?

It's been interesting reading your descriptions of each other! Up till now I've been trying to keep fairly anonymous, but we're starting to tell people about the pg now. So I think when I have the scan next week I'll post a pic of the baby and a couple of myself too.

BellaBear · 16/04/2007 15:41

Thank you woodmouse! But seriously, I'm not, I just have this book and had someone who can knit sitting next to me to explain things and help me when I went wrong. I will upload a photo of the slightly deformed cardigan at some point, I am really proud of that one

Now, if I am back at work today (booo!) we should be hearing from fleacircus soon as well!

citydevilbunny · 16/04/2007 20:06

Hi Geek so pleased its going well

Post some pics

Here's hoping some of us will be quick to join you!

nomoremagnolia · 16/04/2007 21:48

Hello Geek(and babygeek), nice to 'see' you again. Really looking forward to seeing your scan pics - can't believe you're nearly at the 12wk point already!!
PS feel free to come back to and update us anytime, we'd love to hear how you and babygeek are getting on!

Of course we want you to keep posting on here. We have missed you! But of course we are so thrilled that you graduated Can't wait to see some pics of BabyGeek's scans. How exciting Take care of yourself!

fleacircus · 17/04/2007 10:32

Hello everyone - how are you all? Feeling a bit lost as I don't feel really pg yet... this was always my favourite thread, can I come back for a bit? Especially now you're talking about knitting as I have just learnt too and am a bit obsessed! Just ordered two books of patterns for babies from Amazon, can't wait until they arrive.

Ready · 17/04/2007 10:38

Ok. I obviously missed out on some crucial newsflash Fleacircus - Congratulations flower!! When did you get your BFP???

fleacircus · 17/04/2007 11:24

Sorry - my fault as I only posted BFP on April board. Got back from holiday and suddenly didn't know anyone on TTC #1 thread, it seemed to have moved on massively in my absence. But now checking this thread and the friendly faces are back again! Got faint three BFPs on Thursday, another on Friday, fifth on Sunday, strong line on Monday, still have a test in my bathroon but have finally managed to control myself!

nomoremagnolia · 17/04/2007 12:56

Congratulations Flea!! I missed this too as can't keep up with all the posts on the monthly threads. Feel free to stay here with us, most of the 'old' lot are around and the new people are nice too
Wow another BFP, it is possible then...

OP posts:
citydevilbunny · 17/04/2007 13:03

How exciting Flea Happy knitting!

Is there a pg with # 1 thread for us to graduate to one day?
