Thought someone better start a new thread as we're getting close to the 1000 mark!
Ready - what's your question?

OP posts:
Woodmouse · 26/04/2007 17:51

Hurrah!!! Everyone is returning to the thread. I was beginning to think it was me and was getting worried.

Oooh the name game is the best bit of planning babies (apart from BD-ing )! Biblical names are great Geek and I love all yours. I absolutely agree that girls names are harder

So sorry to hear you have been on a mini-depression Ready.

PinkElephant · 26/04/2007 17:58

Gosh its quiet on here at the moment - how is everyone?
Sending you a smile Ready are you down about the whole TTC thing? I've felt a bit fed up with it all the last few days and have now convinced myslef that there is no way I am PG and now I feel a bit happier and I'm going to have some alcohol tonight rather than being good just incase...pants to it
Now I do think about names and then I pull myself back from this because when I was PG at christmas it was the first thing me and DH lay in bed giggling over and I feel like I jinxed myself so I'll pass if you don't mind girls.....

Ready · 26/04/2007 18:31

Oh PinkElephant - bless your heart, of course you didn't jinx anything by giggling over names. It's natural to think of names. But I understand why you don't want to ponder. I hope it's not too insensitive if we still do??
Yea, I have been really low about ttc - started getting pre-menstrual cramps and just got upset about it all. 8th cycle and very unlikely that I am pregnant - even though we did our best, really well timed action, ovulation when I expected - and I just don't know how many more months of disappointment I can cope with ... Sorry you have been down too - and I like the idea of having some alcohol regardless - good for you

Don't worry Woodmouse - You don't smell - So...what names do you like at the moment!?

Gilly - ooh I feel better for that hug...thank you . I just feel a bit like anything and everything may jinx the whole possibility of being pregnant....you'll know if I am, when I dissapear of the face of the earth. I won't want to tell anyone until I'm far on.....hmm do you think I'll get away with it by 8months preggers? Oh I'll miss you all too much and will have to tell all See....I'm dreaming again Now whats this question? Is it too painful for you to ask?
Ready - of course I don't mind if you girls have a good old chat about names, I just find it all too uncomfortable to plan ahead, but thats just me. I know exaclty how you feel, we were trying for 8months before I got pregnant at christmas and it was the month we had given up ie BD'ed when we wanted rather than at specific times and drank far too much alcohol....its always the way isn't it. Don't give up hope sweetie, we really will all get there somehow keep that chin up and Ready

Woodmouse · 26/04/2007 20:06

Oh Ready - you'll get lots of love and support here. Big hugs.

Pink elephant - you can't disappear! We'd miss you too much!

I really like your chosen names Gilly - I had a friend called Otilia at uni and always thought it was a lovely unusual name. Also, what do people think of unwelcome shortening of names - like people calling you Cath if the name you use is Catherine? I only have a one syllable name, so it's never been an issue for me, but I would hope that whatever I named my child stuck and wasn't shortened to anything I detested. It's a big responsibility naming a child!!

We haven't come to any conculsions on names, although we spend ages laughing about it. DH fancies "honouring my Highland heritage" (as he puts it) and giving the poor mites outrageously Scottish names. His suggestions range from Aengus, Hamish and Archibald (?!) for boys to Seonagh, Elspeth and Eilidh for girls. Let's just say the jury's out on this one!!!

I noticed on another thread that MrsMcJnr had some bad news today at the doctors , so she probably needs our support too.

kensgirl · 26/04/2007 20:13

Hi again all! I've been a bit quiet for a wek or two, as I was feeling really low, knew af was on its way......... anyway, its now cd 6 for me, and I,m feeling very hopeful again . For those i know, I've had some good news, my monitoring after PHMP/ TD has been reduced to fortnightly, so i'm a big step nearer to being officially cleared to ttc!!

Hello to anyone I've not yet met!

Oooh! names.....I'll have to think...

Aah thats nice to hear woodmouse. Well if I was to dissappear it would be a from way from now as I'm convinced AF will be on time next week
Kensgirl - I'm all confuse whats PHMP? Has soemthing happned that I've missed?
Gilly - I'm inspired by the pink loo paper and black knickers, good idea!!

BellaBear · 28/04/2007 14:22

So I said I woukdn't test until I had a big bump and was eight months late for my period but I succumbed this morning, BFN. More a case of 'if it is negative then at least I know my period is on its way and I don't have to stress' but that is complete rubbish as now I am thinking
-tested at eight but had been to the loo at 5am,
-only 13/14dpo, might not show up
-cheap test, maybe wasn't working (even though test line came up nice and clear.

Funny, though, that is my first ever negative pregnancy test.

BellaBear · 28/04/2007 18:31

If I think about it, last cycle was the only one I've ever had that short... so really my period probably isn't due until monday or tuesday anyway.

Ready · 29/04/2007 10:19

BellaBear - Fingers crossed for you sweets!!

Kensgirl - Lovely to have you back, and great news that pretty soon you will get the official go-ahead YAY!

Gilly - I don't have a problem with names being shortened... I am always called by my short version, and DH is too - but like you say, we have the long version to fall back on. DH's mum gets annoyed when people take DH's shortened version and add a Y to it though - eg William to Will (ok) to Willy - that's not his name though
I agree, at the moment we like Sam - but would give the name Samuel. IYSWIM?

Someone we know has named their boys "Billy" and "Bobby" - and I think it is unfair actually. Can you imagine if they go on to be a solicitor or a surgeon or a judge. Perhaps I am being too stuffy???

Woodmouse - Thanks for the hug I need it right now! How do you pronounce Eilidh?

PinkElephant - I am trying not to give up. But it's just so hard. Every month the disappointment just seems to hit harder and harder.

Names: We really like Neve for a girl at the moment... any ideas what middle name would work with that?? We want a family name as middle name, but we have quite a lot to choose from

All the rest of the First Baby Crew sending much love!

BellaBear · 29/04/2007 10:38

Thanks Ready. I completely agree with you re names. I think I should expect my period by Tuesday. My cycles obviously still aren't 'normal' yet.

nomoremagnolia · 29/04/2007 21:10

Hello one and all, I'm back from my hols (with the sunburn to prove it - I look a bit but without being angry IYSWIM!)
Will catch up and post properly tomorrow but from what I've just read (at the top of the page, so totally out of sync) Bella - hang on in there it's not over til the fat lady sings (or the fat auntie comes to visit anyway) I've got my fingers crossed for you [fingers crossed emoticon].
Hello to everyone else too

Period's here. VERY pissed off. And sad.

scorpio1 · 30/04/2007 14:02

( Bella, hope u ok x )

PinkElephant · 30/04/2007 17:59

Oh why, oh why, did a tiny weeney foolish part of me think I might get PG this month . I kept psyching myself up for another 8months of TTC again but I thought that just perhaps, just maybe, we might have some luck for a change and I'd be one of those lucky girls who it happens for straight away....but of course NO!! I'm feeling a tad miserable as I'm waiting for AF to arrive in the next 3 days. I also foolishly did a PG test on saturday and never has it been more of a BFN!! I got really sad and feel fed up already and we've only being TTC again for 1 month . I need to pull myself together as I think this is going to be a long process!!!
Big hug to all you girls with AF pains

Ladies - can you help me out with this?

OP posts:
Ready · 01/05/2007 10:57

Nomoremagnolia - Welcome back! the epitome of the 1980s IMO! - Shoulder pads, horizontal stripes and bouffant hair!
Make sure you have neon plastic earings and bracelets!

Bella - HUG!

PinkE - HUG!

I am CD2 here - and it's poo isn't it!! But we have to keep soldiering on girls! [steeley determination face]

Hope everyone else is just dandy!

nomoremagnolia · 01/05/2007 11:54

After much (hysterical) web searching last night I think I'm going for the bananarama look - there's some great fan sites out there with loads of pics. Have found neon pink top in New Look (£7 in sale, ok it's a size 18, but that just makes it bigger and baggier) now going to find leggings. Have also just bought some doc martents off ebay. Going to Claire's at lunchtime for accessories.
and (((hug))) for those of you at cd 1/2/3 etc. I'm due on this weekend, just want af to come early on fri or wait til tues so I can go to docs for cd1 blood tests. Will be soo if I come on on sat as blood tests can only be done on cd1 or cd2 and doc's not open again til tues!

Hello girls
I've changed my name (not to confuse anyone, I just prefer this one) I was Hespera before.
Sorry for those of you who've had AF, like me. I'm not CD2 again and going to book some acupuncture to help things along I think.
Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine.
