Thought someone better start a new thread as we're getting close to the 1000 mark!
Ready - what's your question?

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 13/04/2007 16:36

I use little thin bands (99p for 10 in tesco type-of-thing) and always use brown ones so they're not too obvious.
Can those of us who are married post wedding photos too - I know some of you have but I love seeing wedding photos! Of course I will put my wedding pic on there too, will have to scan in one - nearly all photos of the wedding are proper film ones rather than digital. It's amazing how much changes in only 5 years!
Gilly - like your glasses! You look like someone I knew at uni, though you are not her (I think!)

i did mine too!

Gilly - love your choice of books. Just finished re-reading the Anne of Green Gables series. I think the main reason I'd love a daughter is so I can read them to her. Not sure I could read out loud and cry as much as I always do over them though.

Oh! I love seeing all these photos! Scorpio, you look just like I imagined! How weird! glad you found your way around posting it![smile[]

Gilly - I got you wrong! I thought you would look like Suzanne Shaw.......your glasses are really similar to mine, and yes, you look lovely!

I feel like I'm surrounded by beautiful people, I'm going to start feeling all inadequate soon!

Nomore- I like your wedding photo idea. Will you hurry up and post so I can see if you matched my description.

Oh Ready - that was a meaty question!!

I really do not know all of the facts but I guess the court made the right legal decision. But there are so many what-ifs? I just thought everytime I saw it on the news what a shame it was that they could not have come to an amicable arrangement and avoided the court - TBH once things go that far someone is always going to lose in a big way.

In my current FTC#1 position - I feel soooo sorry for her - to have beaten cancer, separated from her husband and then have her only chance of having her baby taken away - Life is very very cruel

So everyone is posting photos again!! I will try and get around to doing it - will def put a wedding one- I would be stupid not to as they were professionally done so best possible chance to look good!!

kensgirl · 13/04/2007 17:33

hiya, Seaside! The photos bit is from me guessing what everone looks like, and I did you too! Not sure if you've seen it though its on the original thread if you want. But I imagine you to be a bit of a surfer babe...

seaside72 · 13/04/2007 17:41

Hi kensgirl - I did see it on the old thread - I have been lurking!! Ready started a similar game on the temp thread a while ago so we all had a flurry of posting pics but I never did mine !!! I will though - but it is funny putting faces to nicknames! Ready thought I was surfer girl too - must be the name!! - in fact we also found pics of famous celebs/actresses and posted those so we all had a famous alter ego I think I got Cameron Diaz - was very happy with that!!! . I think we made Ready Anne Hathaway and MrsMc Cate Blanchett!!

BTW your photos are gorgeous

kensgirl · 13/04/2007 17:56

That sounds fun! Your not doing too badly though, Cameron Diaz AND Julia Roberts! I think I'm looking pretty Mrs Mop today !

That was a lovely thing to say about my photos- thanks!

seaside72 · 13/04/2007 18:20

Ohh - I forgot about Julia Roberts - thanks !!!

Right have posted some pics - no one call the RSPCA on me for putting toy antlers on my dog!! I made a brill Xmas card with a bit of photoshop work!!

PinkElephant · 13/04/2007 18:26

Hi all,
Hoorray the appoint went well today and we were told to crack on with the baby making. Apparently there is a less than 10% chance of having another ectopic so on the up side that means I have a more than 90% chance of a healthy pregnancy next time. With those stats we are happy enough. So off we go again this month. Now can I remember when exactly I ovulate.....
No offense taken at all at the possiblity of my amazonion type daughters!!! I've always been convinced I'd have boys so therefore they will huge strapping fella's, into rugby like their father. Or maybe I'll have the odd throwback son who will be diddy in the land of giants and everyone will be whispering behind my back "where did he come from" bless!
Rachelsvs - interesting, yes us tallies always seem to produce long babies. Both me and my sister shot up to a gangly height at around 13yrs but then it all seemed to slow down after that - thank gawd!! I've always wished I was just a couple of inches shorter so that I can wear high heels...but never mind I have found myself a nice tall DH so I can wear some heelage now!!

PinkElephant · 13/04/2007 18:47

oooh the photo's - none of you are how I imagined??!! I must have terrible imagination but I got you all wrong. Must try and dig one out and get my profile up and running

BellaBear · 13/04/2007 19:53

Do you know, I am trying to stop coming on mumsnet so often because really it was getting silly, but I keep missing out on conversations!!! 'snot fair.
Anyway, yes, what everyone else said about the embryos sounds v sensible.
And I have been trawling through my photos but couldn't find anything on my computer yet. Will let you know when I post something.

scorpio1 · 13/04/2007 19:54

bella i want to see what you look like!

BellaBear · 13/04/2007 20:01

okay, i'm brave, I've done it!!

scorpio1 · 13/04/2007 20:03

BellaBear · 13/04/2007 20:04

bear in mind it was my wedding day so quite a flattering photo!
Seen yours, actually fits in quite well with my idea of you! and lovely babies, obviously!

now, waiting for post of 'i've seen you somewhere!'

nomoremagnolia · 13/04/2007 20:43

Have finally worked out how to reduce the size of my pics (got stupid new windows vista and I don't know how to do anything on it!) so go and enjoy!
Working on a wedding one as we speak!

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 13/04/2007 20:55

Done the wedding one too, though DH doesn't want it up for too long in case anyone from RL sees it!

OP posts:
Ready · 14/04/2007 14:49

Right? I?ve just got off the phone from the RSPCA Too many animals being photographed without their agents permission. And one poor creature being subjected to headgear cruelty Reminds me of when we were kids, putting our sunglasses on our dogs!

So. It turns out my question wasn?t as controversial as I had thought. Phew. I didn?t want us to fall out, just wanted to know what others thought. Who is next to ask a question??

I wondered a lot about the glasses/contacts in childbirth. I would like to wear my contacts so that I look nicer is the photos straight after, but I thought I had read somewhere that you couldn?t wear lenses in case you had to have an emergency C-S?? You are not allowed to wear lenses during an op. So is this wrong? As long as they are aware, is it ok to have lenses in??

Seaside - I take back the Cameron Diaz suggestion, you are so much prettier than that!! I would say now, Michelle Pfeiffer!

MrsMc - I hope you didn?t think I was calling you a moon-face?? I was saying I was a moon-face!! You?ve got a lovely face! Re: The hair neatness thing, when I haven?t time to have my hair down, I usually tie it into a bun, with the brown thin bands to secure it in place. It always looks neat. I like a ponytail, but with the natural wave/curl in my hair, it never looks as good just as a tail.

Nomore - PMSL at the Homer inspired weighing technique. I will try it out ? Your hair is lovely on your wedding day, very Audrey Hepburn!! Like I said to MrsMc, I have a moon-face, so that style doesn?t work for me I will look for a wedding pic on the computer, or I might need to scan one in.

Bella - How nice that you got married in blue! Are your curls natural? Personal question I know, sorry, but they are real tumbling locks I have inbetween hair, it?s not dead straight, but it?s not proper curls. It?s more bed head. And I would love one or the other.

Gilly - Your eyes are gorgeous, girl!! Sorry to hear that you have had a streaming cold, DH has been suffering too! Hope you feel better soon. And it?s lovely that you had a great time with your friends and really lifted your spirits, just what you needed at the moment!!

PinkElephant - SO pleased that all went well with the consultant and you have been given the green light. Fingers and toes and everything crossed for you!

Sorry if I have missed anyone? it?s just the thread moves so quick doesn?t it!! What a bunch of chatterboxes we all are

BellaBear · 14/04/2007 18:32

yes, naturally curly hair - but it has looked better since I stopped treating it as if it is straight! It was particularly nice that day though - I washed it wit a good conditioner, then sprayed redken fresh curls and then dried it while scrunching it upside down. Now I just comb it while wet and use some of the spray and let it dry naturally and it usually has some degree of curl in it. SOmetimes it just goes wavy though, it has a mind of its own.

I can't get back into the ttc april thread at all! It moves so quickly and I don't have time to read it all! So can I tell you lot all about my cervical mucus????
