TTC after recurrent miscarriage

Hi, just wondering if anyone else was in a similar place to me and wanted to chat about it? I'm 30, TTC my first and have had three miscarriages, all early (two natural MCs at five weeks, then a MMC where a scan at 6+5 revealed development had again stopped at 5 weeks). I've had RMC tests and am just waiting on the results of that but hoping to be able to TTC again from my next period, which should come any day now. I've found throughout the whole thing (have been TTC just over a year now) that it's really helped me to chat with people in similar positions, so if anyone wants to be TTC buddies please let me know!

Well apparently today is the most fertile day of the year Confused Anyone in FW, get shagging!

I'm not due for another week or more.

Miami Flowers that sucks, I'm sorry. Dates are hard. Be kind to yourself.

keeponrunning85 · 11/12/2017 17:17

Is it Bertie? How the frig do they work that out?!

Please do join me schnitzel. It is always good to have company in craziness.

I have caved and for the first time ever bought a pack of FRERs. Popped into boots after work and they only had one left therefore decided it was 'destiny' Hmm

keeponrunning85 · 11/12/2017 17:33

I bet now I've done that my pre-AF spotting will show up tonight.

Haffertee4 · 11/12/2017 18:21

Thanks Lisa and Miami for your advice I'll grab the pregnancy ones next time I'm in boots!

Keepon we are AF partners, mine was due in thurs too, if take mc as day one. However mine showed up today, 3 days early which never happens. I feel like I should be pleased as I prob didn't want to be preg anyway over xmas as that would either involve crazy anxiety and knicker checking or another mc but still had a bit of a sob on the way home. This morning it seemed like a good idea to run home from work prob looked really crazy running and crying but hay ho. Oh and also this meant the didn't take my handbag to work as I'm never early so had to go an ask another member of staff for a tampon like a stupid teenager! Grrr
Oh look I'm ranting again, no surprise there.
Think they should add something in the growing up books about spending to much time as a women sitting on the toilet staring at blood stained knickers and crying. Don't think I signed up for this!

BertieBotts · 11/12/2017 18:21

Statistically based on birth dates! I would guess Christmas parties have a lot to do with it.

Haffertee4 · 11/12/2017 18:22

Hoping for bfps for others in the 2ww!

BertieBotts · 11/12/2017 18:23

Haffer, that should mean you'll be fertile over Xmas so lots of festive shagging? Grin Get some of those reindeer antlers and a jangly Santa hat [santa]

BertieBotts · 11/12/2017 18:23

(Sorry about AF though.)

Haffertee4 · 11/12/2017 18:24

Winkthat cheered me up Bertie thanks!

Miami81 · 11/12/2017 19:29

There was some crazy ass post a while ago basically asking people to think of the poor midwives when they are doing all their Christmas shagging and then having September babies!! Made me laugh. Like I love midwives but I don't give a crap when their busiest time is, i just want a baby. Any month will do.
Rooting for you keepon and schnitzel.

BertieBotts · 11/12/2017 21:05

Grin Yep, any month will do!

BertieBotts · 11/12/2017 21:07

Sorry, it's not very charitable I know, but I find the most bonkers posts on here to be the ones where someone comes on and asks us all to tell her who is the father of her baby based on some TMI and overly detailed description involving dates, times, positions and number of orgasms.
Xmas Confused

And yet there is at least one a month!

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/12/2017 23:11

Big love to all. Fingers crossed for a bunch of lovely a bunch of bfps soon!

Interesting fact Bertie. Not there for another week but af finally buggered off and we had a snow day so much shagging for practise Grin

Manic week ahead. Thanks for kind thoughts on the family dying and illness stuff. Feeling a bit battered in the head but looking forward to a long break over Xmas and hopefully only the one funeral beforehand.

Got acu on Saturday which will be nice.

Sorry people are having awful times. No bunch of lovable nutters has ever been more deserving of happiness and babies than you lot.

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/12/2017 23:16

Never saw that one miami but holy fuck, people are idiots.

And couldn’t agree more bertie. Likewise “could I be pregnant? Yes I’ve had sex but only a bit and now my tea tastes funny”. I mostly just envy their blissful naivety, lucky cows. I’m so cynical and jaded these days you can take all the vitamins, eat all the right things, do all the shagging on exactly the right days and it still doesn’t fucking happen. God I miss being optimistic.

Does anyone else really peeing on sticks these days? I’ve never really liked it but I’ve user up all my ICs and might have some frers in a drawer somewhere but can’t be arsed to check and don’t want to buy anymore.

Miami81 · 12/12/2017 07:41

My other absolute fav. 'My period hasn't arrived, could I be pregnant' and then get all arsey when literally the whole of mn tells you to take a test. Ooooooh I'm to nervous etc etc. Actually makes we want to do harm. Just take the fecking test, we all know you are pregnant, you now have 200 people telling you you are, just TEST. Silly people.

keeponrunning85 · 12/12/2017 08:22

Urgh yes, I agree ladies. How they think random people on the internet can tell them if they're pregnant or not I do not know. And when they say they don't want to waste money on a test. You can get them for a pound in Asda!

Anyway, in other news, looks like I'm pregnant, oh my jeffing days. Pissed on one of those fancy pants FRERs this morning and it was only a bloody BFP. It has always taken several months of TTC before so I was expecting a negative but after spending an hour and a half awake in the night pondering it I decided I needed to do one to try and manage my expectations. Showed DH and he said oh no, followed by errrr, congratulations followed by it'll only go wrong anyway and then pointed out that I'm going to have another dry Christmas probably for nothing!!!!!! The natural pessimist in him fully emerged!

Oh my god, what amazing news!!!!!!!!! Oh bless you, are you okay about what DH said? With my last one I woke DH up by shaking his shoulder with the test in my other hand and he said something like "oh my god, no, not again, really?!!!!!" and we looked at each other in blind terror! so I know it doesn't always feel like the movie cliche Grin We were both happy but also shocked and terrified. It's all so complicates sometimes.

I'm over the bloody moon for you Smile You're pregnant! New sperm, new egg, totally unique pregnancy, no reason at all you won't be a Mum to a gorgeous podgy newborn in 9 months.

SchnitzelVonCrummsTum · 12/12/2017 12:02

Congratulations KeepOn - see, you weren't being a hopeful twat, just justifiably hopeful! Crossing fingers, toes, everything that this is your well-deserved take-home baby xx

Yanko · 12/12/2017 12:33

Hi everyone can I join? I had a D&C for a MMC at 11+4 last month. We have been TTC straight away and I'm 7dpo. Had spotting last night and thought AF was coming very early. Nothing today.

I've had spotting all month though since the D&C. No idea what my cycle is doing big I'm also switching between stupidly hopeful and totally despondent all the time!

Fingers crossed for everyone on this thread.

MogScratch · 12/12/2017 14:08

Woo fantastic news keepon. Time for your newly shaped uterus to look after your bean. So happy for you.

Haffertee4 · 12/12/2017 15:22

Fab news keepon!

Miami81 · 12/12/2017 16:51

Great news keepon. Everything crossed for you.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 12/12/2017 17:40

Congratulations keepon! Absolutely rooting for you.

Oh, and on the topic of stupid posts - can I give a special commendation to the category 'posts saying "is this positive?" with a picture of an absolutely blazingly positive test'? Full marks go to those where, when people tell them that yes, that is pretty fucking positive, they reply 'thanks, it's just such a shock as we never thought it would happen so soon!'. Gold stars for those that include my personal most-hated smug quick conceiver line: 'Hubby will be disappointed - he wanted us to have more practice!'.
