A new thread (following on from our July and August ones!) for all those trying for number 2 and hoping for a September BFP. Welcome aboard!

Oh Jesus, I'm 5 weeks today and I've got a bump! I usually wear smart dresses for work that aren't really baggy but stretchy jersey type material. DH just said omg you can't wear that! I look massive!!! Bloating I hope!!!

It was an Evap. Retested today and nothing. I think FRER are shit, I always get inconclusive results with them.

Sorry to hear that @DragonsandDungeons. Does anyone here know about using an ovulation test as a pregnancy test?! Is this something you can actually do? I'm not due AF until Saturday and got positives on pregnancy and ovulation test today so now I'm confused. Yes, I did it really early as I was feeling so run down.

@gotadolly LH and HCG are of a similar molecular make up so it seems that some people get positive opk's when they are pregnant as the tests are quite broad spectrum. It doesn't work the other way around though, if you've got a positive pregnancy test then that has detected HCG, 5 days is early to get a positive so maybe you ovulated earlier than you thought.

Oh ok I see- think I'll (try and) wait a couple of days then do an early test.

Gotadolly ovulation tests can pick up hcg.

I did ovulation and pregnancy tests yesterday. See attached. Then did early tests today, one FR and one Clearblue. FR def negative and clearblue had slight line but I'm not sure I trust it. Advice please! I think I'm losing my mind.

Hi all. Im new to mumsnet!
I have just started TTC. Took my patch off 3 weeks ago and have been doing ovulation tests every day but every day its negative??
Is this normal or should i be worried?
I promised my other half i wasnt going to get obsessed with it and let nature do its thing but that hasnt happened 🙈 its all i can think about!!

@Chels04 welcome! I think you have to give it time to settle down. Don't expect anything to happen right away (although it might!) your body needs time to get back into its routine

gotadolly How confusing, what brand of FRER is it? Not that it really matters I suppose. I don't know what would help. I would say pick one brand and test each day with that. I would suggest waiting until Saturday but you sound like me and there's no way you'll do it :)

I got some early response tests cheaply on amazon and I'm getting a better result on them than the FRER. I just did a little experiment and used the IC FR which was lots darker than the one this morning, an ov test which gave a line and then a 'normal' IC and got a definite but still faint line. AF was due today and I've been getting positives for 3 days. I've got nausea and pulling and yet the standard tests are only just showing a faint positive. Just shows you really aren't out until AF shows because even with enough hormones to make me feel crap I'm not getting really dark lines yet!

@ladydolly it was a First Response, the pink one. This is cycle 9 of trying and I'm beyond despair
