Et voila.

This Hut is more of a Bedouin or desert tent than anything too gloomy. We shall supply our our own gloom.

OP posts:
sideways · 26/03/2007 22:05

duchesse, I know it's no laughing matter, I know this is very serious and bloody depressing and I know laughing is not allowed in the Hut, but your last post did make me titter (a little).

It's the way you tell 'em.

seaside72 · 26/03/2007 22:24

LOL duchesse - so I take you are might not be coming back to the temping thread!!! IKWYM about everyone being pg - I find myself staring at women and their bumps everywhere I go. It sucks

LNO - crap about the spotting - def no chance it is implantation bleed? (or is it diff with IVF? ) Last month I tried doing lots of yoga headstands and shoulder stands to keep AF away - but the bit@h wouldnt take a hint!

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 27/03/2007 00:46

Have just been lurking cos not sure if am miserable enough for the hut today but have to comment on this - "She says if she looses it it's Ok as she knows she can conceive quickly." Sunshinedays, I am at your friend! That's a life she's talking about! Having lost 2 myself I can't imagine anyone being so flippant about it! Some people really do lack compassion don't they.
LateNightOwl - sorry to hear you are spotting, it could be implantation though, I don't really know anything about IVF but I would guess that still happens. Try to relax a bit if you can, I've got my fingers crossed for you.

LatenightOwl · 27/03/2007 09:00

Oh Duchess, like sideways I shouldnt laugh but you are so dry and funny. Ever thought of writing a book. We could all club together and do like an Adrian Mole type but something along the lines of FTC aged 36 3/4! no doubt others will think of a more suitable title.

Went to bed and laid dead flat - new method to keep AF at bay. Suffered horrid cramps in the night and dreaded getting up this morning - had to obviously - to nothing...its all gone quietis this the lull before the big flow?

Seaside - headstands sound pretty good at the moment from where I am - may try that this afternoon.
Bespeckledegg - love that name - yep DP and I are going to go for a relaxing walk - Im already trying to think of ways to check knickers along the way without him noticing...oh god it would be really funny if it wasnt so desperate!

Duchesse - have you tried IVF? just wondering if you had crossed that bridge yet or crossed it off??

Sunshinedays · 27/03/2007 09:21

Hi LNO -
Just wondering if you've thought about contacting the IVF clinic - I think they may up your progesterone?
I have had spotting previously and asked my consultant what happens if I get it with IVF - I think he said they my up my drugs.

Cryptonomicon · 27/03/2007 09:23

hopeful that period didn't start this morning LNO

Sunshine, my pregnant friend said pretty much the same thing to me before she went for her 12 week scan - I was completley shocked and horrified but I don't think its as rare an attitude as you might imagine.

I had horribly vivid dreams last night again where I had a baby, the flashbacks throughout the day just kill me.

I add my vote to the Duchess would be great at writing a book idea

sideways · 27/03/2007 10:28

Sunshinedays - your friend is an idiot.

So many people conceive once with no effort whatsoever and then fail quite spectacularly to conceive again.

How is it possible to be do flippant about a baby

Sunshinedays · 27/03/2007 10:49

She did think at six weeks the 'baby' would only be two cells. Now she realises the eyes are forming and there is a heartbeat this or next week.

In some ways it is really lovely she is so ignorant about what is going on and how difficult it can be. Althouigh she is late thirties she is as niave on this as a sixteen year old would be. It is sad someone (like me) who hasn't had a baby should know so much and be so cynical.

Don't think she will run as she has an injury - so that kinda solves the issue.
Just wish I wasn't so weepy about it - I need a slap. Any offers?

sideways · 27/03/2007 11:04

One cyberslap heading your way

sideways · 27/03/2007 11:04

Actually no, I take that slap back.

You have every right to be weepy about it.

I'll send the cyber slap to her instead - naive or not.

Cryptonomicon · 27/03/2007 11:20

We can send each other slaps Sunshine if you like because I have had a very weepy two days as well. It is so hard. I hate feeling like this so much, the worst part is feeling so helpless to change I am feeling about it if you know what I mean. I don't much like this depressed person I am becoming.

Impatience · 27/03/2007 11:30

Duchesse, at your sister's ex. What a bastard.

LNO, am I right in thinking you took hormone meds etc for your IVF cycle? These might well mess up your usual 'signs', so try not to read too much into anything. What a stressful time. Lie in bed all day if you need to, regardless of whether or not it'll change whether you're pregnant.

Good luck x

feedmenow · 27/03/2007 13:02

God, can you see all the agression flying around this place!!!
On talk of synchronisation, I am on CD6....how does that fit in?
On talk of spongers, they drive me mad!! I have a friend who is on council waiting list and who was advised by a housing advisor there that he recommended once she was housed that she didn't even consider getting a job for a good few months!! She has medical reasons, but WTF is he doing telling people that? I love the idea of distraction at dinner party for Duchesse though........
Pg friends/rellies/neighbours......my post from yesterday morning says it all....spent ages on saturday night literally bawling my eyes out to BF, full on with snot streaming and hiccups from crying so much, etc, etc, etc. OK, I was pissed, but the way I see it is its the real emotions that come out when drunk. So do I go to party this weekend and see pg friend and run the risk of doing the same thing again???

Impatience · 27/03/2007 13:09

FMN, don't get drunk this weekend!

Impatience · 27/03/2007 13:11

I mean, yes, go, otherwise you'll just mope at home feeling that FTC is now messing up your social life, but just don't get drunk! If you start to get miserable, think of us and know you're not alone.

feedmenow · 27/03/2007 13:15

Impatience, do you think I have issues cos when I just read your post saying go but don't get drunk, I thought "be social without booze!!!! Is it possible???"
Perhaps I will be a ready made bottle of white wine spritzer. That way, I can have a little tipple but there won't be any chance of me getting hammered. Do you think that will do?

feedmenow · 27/03/2007 13:16

And I won't "be" a bottle of anything, rather I'll BUY one......

Impatience · 27/03/2007 13:38

Hey, FMN, we all have our crutches! White wine spritzer - yuck! Why not drive, so you can have one really nice glass of whatever you really like, then sip fizzy water from a champagne glass all night - works for me!

sideways · 27/03/2007 13:59

I have a question for you all before I starta thread on it (so I don't get laughed out of town).

I read in one of the ttc threads recently about spontaneous ovulation being responsible for around 85% of all pregnancies.

A medical person I asked about this looked at me as if I had just landed from the moon when I mentioned it to her recently.

So does it happen or is it wishful thinking/nonsense?

Impatience · 27/03/2007 14:19

What's 'spontaneous ovulation' supposed to mean? Egg wakes up on a Monday morning and decides to skive off work and go to the beach instead? Leaps out at you with flowers? Jumps up and shout I RESIGN! without a moments consideration?

Surely the egg does have to mature before it can be released. It's not just sitting there twiddling it's thunbs-to-be so it can randomly leap out.

Tell us more and then I shall be happy to eat my hat (shall go and find a choccy one while I wait )

Cryptonomicon · 27/03/2007 14:22

LOL at Impatience. Not something I have heard about in all my obsessive research I must admit. Although my friend told me that I should stress about ovulation times because 'if it was going to happen, the sperm would find the egg wherever it was' WTF?

sideways · 27/03/2007 14:41

Ok, March ttc thread, post by mmk:

"Re your dates, it is a little known fact that spontaneous ovulation accounts for 85% of all pregnancies (which is why we need dating scans, and why so many people think they have got the dates wrong) It happens during sex, when a totally unripened egg gets ripened and released. It also explains why 'trying' doesn't work."

This was answered by bellabear, with

possible answer

Not sure what to believe. Probably just grasping at straws.

Sunshinedays · 27/03/2007 14:58

Go on post the question - can't wait to see the usual suspects become outraged at the idea. (I may add a post or two to stoke the fire)

I like straw - it is fun to clutch.

Impatience · 27/03/2007 16:07

I guess a totally unripened egg could ripen and get released while having sex if you have sex for about a week!

Soreheart · 27/03/2007 18:05

You mean you guys don't have sex for a week at a time?
