Et voila.

This Hut is more of a Bedouin or desert tent than anything too gloomy. We shall supply our our own gloom.

Think dp is right - you need to do another test (or two!!)

Also - if you think dp catches really easily then one more month for her won't make much difference.

How many days past ov are you?

Impatience · 05/04/2007 09:29

Thanks chocolatedays. That hob nob worked a treat, and that's a lovely cuppa. I was really poorly the weekend around ovulation so didn't do any LH sticks then, and temp was all over the place, so I'm completely guessing at my ovulation. I suspect it was probably on the Saturday, making today 12dpo. But it could well hve been the Sunday, making today only 11dpo. And I've been in this game long enough to know that that's early to rely on a test, and that what I should do is just wait another couple of days. Like there's and JUST about it!!

scorpio1 · 05/04/2007 09:31

Impatience, have you seen www.peeonastick.com? she has a peestick gallery, something to maybe compare your test to?

also there are tests on accessdiagnostics.com that are very sensitive-10miu. shop ones like clearblue are 25miu + and wont give you a + for longer.i normally get delivery next day if i order before lunchtime.

Good luck and i hope it is what you want

Impatience · 05/04/2007 09:34

BTW, good rational thinking about the extra month not making any difference with dp. (Of course, I've heard enough stories to know we shouldn't count on her being quite as fertile as for no.1.) I think we can afford to wait a couple of days with her. If I get my period or am definately not pregnant in a few days (as if I EVER know that!) then she could still try then.

As for what the shop assistant thinks, I couldn't care less! It's more about the tricks that going to the shop would be playing on me. Perhaps I'll go buy myself a paper and just casually pop into superdrug on the way back...

PS, what's the most sensitive test out there? They don't always say, do they?

Impatience · 05/04/2007 09:36

Scorpio1, I am a big fan of the peeonastick lady. I hadn't noticed a gallery, but I'll have a look.

Don't think I can rely on Access Diagnostics saving my sanity given that tomorrow is a bank hol! I'd go mad by the time they arrived!

thanks for the support, girls. Anyone got a paper bag I can breathe into?

Impatience · 05/04/2007 09:43

Oh bugger this. I'm off to the shop. Got SO much work to do today and just cannot concentrate. I'll keep you posted...

Chocolatedays · 05/04/2007 09:47

Just get a selections! First response claim to be most sensitive... but I've heard they can be unreliable, (giving false negs).

GOOD LUCK!

PS just been on the April thread - OMG - it's a BFPfest - couldn't cope and had to dive back into the hut. ARRRGHH.

Impatience · 05/04/2007 10:22

There's no line. Choice was v limited, got Superdrug own for a fraction of the price of the alternatives. Still no line even after I should have thrown it away. Could be less sensitive than the 25mui I used this morning. Could be because pee was practically water. Could be because I'm not pregnant...

Somehow I have to just forget about this and get on with some work. Yikes, it's almost half 10. Crap.

Thanks again x

sideways · 05/04/2007 10:30

Impatience, how infuriating for you. Access diagnostics could deliver on Saturday morning, if you can wait that long. Are you planning to do another tomorrow morning?

Everything crossed for you here - let us know the second you find out one way or the other. Good luck!

sideways · 05/04/2007 10:32

Superdrug ones are the not the best.

Keep trying.

Cryptonomicon · 05/04/2007 10:58

Oh crikey, what a nightmare for you Impatience. I think more testing has to be the answer - its not like you are realistically going to forget about it even if you don't test. Try again tomorrow morning.

Another one on shag week here (not surprising I suppose seeing as we all managed to syncronise this month ). As usual, Mr Crypto was like a rampant rabbit last weekend but as soon as it reaches the right week, nada on the 'production' front.

Seaside - was it you whose dh was going to the doctors? How did he get on?

Impatience · 05/04/2007 11:30

Hi again. Have put in an Access Diagnostics order for some ultra sensitive tests. Hopefully will get them on Saturday. Otherwise these Superdrug ones were bogof so I've got 4 tests for a tenner. Will keep on testing! But will wait till tomorrow morning. Probably power of my insane mind but now I feel very tired, nauseous and my boobs really hurt. That's probably from having been up a lot in the night with ds, getting all stressed, and then stomping round to superdrug with no bra on, but Hey, we have to cling...

Will of course keep you posted.

Sorry for you girls back on the hamster wheel of shagfest. It shouldn't feel that way, should it?

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 05/04/2007 12:03

Hello all, been baking again and got some more virtual hash cakes for you... Not been in for a while as still in the beginning of a new cycle positive rush bit (ha!) Wait til I get to CD40 odd and see how cheerful I am then!
Impatience - keep testing - at 11-12 dpo I reckon first morning wee would def be better, more concentrated hormones! BTW - I work in a shop and I have to say I always smile on the inside when I sell someone a pg test - although obv feel too...
Always feel happy when people on here get BFPs though - esp when they have been trying hard - gives me hope

seaside72 · 05/04/2007 12:28

Impatience -Def keep testing - but realistically morning wee will be better - fingers crossed. I would get DP to go ahead with the plan tonight if it were me - in an attempt to double bluff myself IYKWIM?? but them I am the ultimate pessimist but secertely think there is something in all of this talk of "just got my BFP after accepting new job in the north pole" or "just got my BFP the day after I agreed to a charity skydive" etc etc.

Crypto - Of course had almost forgotten some of us had sort of synchronised? God - could be a ridiculous flurry of Xmas babies! I wish! Yes my DP had his semen analysis last week - no results till next week. Thanks for remembering! The whole scenario was like something out of a bad carry on film - I left him alone in the bathroom (at home) to get on with it and suffice to say there were aiming problems (v small pot!) and then much swearing and huffing and a very dejected DH emerged with a quite unsubstantial sample which we then had to rush to hospital- DH ran in with it and was consoled by battle axe nurse that it is not the quantity but the quality??? Oh well I
guess it is just the first of many indignities in this TTC lark!
BTW - I have played it v cool with DH this month - just saying OV is sometime this week and it seems to be working so far! But may be in vain as it seems I may have ovd really early and we didnt get going this month until CD10 as semen test was on CD8 and he had to abtstain for 2 days before that - Oh well - whatever!!

Becklespeckle - well done on the hash cakes

Impatience · 05/04/2007 13:19

Hmm, hash cakes are just what I need. Yummy. Thanks!

From one pot to another: Yes, those sample pots are very narrow. I'm impressed that anything gets caught!

Thanks for all the moral support! I can't believe this is happening AGAIN. Dp pointed out how far we'd managed to make it through this 2ww without going bonkers, so there's some progress

Yes, I agree with the whole jinxing lark (although I am a scientist, and a cynic, plus a miserable old sod etc etc), and I'm sort of challenging my body to get pregnant after all these months just when we've taken the (happy) risk that dp will be pg too! But dp's been more than happy to cancel tonight's insem because her cm etc hasn't started up yet, so we can afford a couple of days to figure out what the hell is going on in my womb

Tonight I shall deliberately dehydrate myself and keep my fingers (and probably legs!) crossed for that first morning pee.

PS, was behind a truck on the motorway yesterday. It had EWM blazoned across the back. I immediately thought egg-white mucus. Ah, Edinburgh Woolen Mill... how unfortunate.

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 05/04/2007 13:34

PMSL! Saw the same on a car numberplate the other day and that's what it made me think of too!
I would keep tempting fate, esp if DP is not quite ready yet, an extra day or 2 could be enough to make your results stronger! Wd it make a difference if you are pg? Will DP still try do you think?

Nelli30 · 05/04/2007 13:57

Hi there - I hope you don't mind me butting in, but I think I am a very suitable candidate for this thread. I am miserable. I am going to finish work today at 3:30 and go home with a friend of mine a drink lots of wine because I am so miserable. I feel guilty because I don't want to see a pregnant women for a long time, I feel guilty because 2 people I know have just announced their pregnancies and although I congratulated them , a part of me was screaming 'WHY THEM AND NOT ME'. Is this enough to join the hut - if not I have plenty more!

We have just finished out first IVF cycle, our test day was yesterday, obviously it was negative. I feel like my heart is breaking, and I'm afraid I can't muster up any positivity at all , .......nope ......nothing!!

Cryptonomicon · 05/04/2007 14:11

I am sorry you are having such a bad time Nelli. You are in the perfect place though so pull up a pew, slug some vodka and have a drag of this spliff.

I know its easier said than done but try not to feel guilty about your feelings, only people in the same boat can really understand the heartbreak and there are plenty of them here so don't feel the need to explain.

Impatience · 05/04/2007 14:26

Nelli, you definately are in the right place. We know just how you feel. Make yourself cosy. Offload. Go on, rant, scream, whatever you need. It's not going to change the fact that you've failed to conceive and that your IVF cycle didn't work, but at least we know where you're coming from and you can talk freely without having to justify how you feel.

Sorry your IVF didn't work.

Enjoy your drink. Lovely afternoon for it! And don't try to cheer yourself up. I think a failed IVF cycle is good enough reason to completely really feel your shitty feelings, huh? You can try to feel better another day.

Impatience · 05/04/2007 14:39

Beckle, dp doesn't want to try if I'm pg. She'd raather we just have one baby at a time! We're happy to accept the risk of us both trying in the same month because IF we ended up both pg then it would be ridiculous but we'd just get on with it. If she gets pg before me I'll keep trying because perhaps her being pg will take the pressure off me and that might help. Really our aim is to have at least one more child so that ds can have a sibling, and if I could go through pregnancy, birth and have a biological child then that would be wonderful. So us both trying is to increase our odds of getting another child. But it would be preferable for us to have at least one non-pregnant adult in the house! So, no, if I test positive before she's ready to inseminate, she won't go. If it's still unresolved I think we'll assume I'm not pg (because history suggests I won't be...) and she'll go to increase our chances of a baby being conceived this month.

That really turned into a bit of an essay. Hope it made sense. It's been quite an area of debate I assure you!

Chocolatedays · 05/04/2007 16:03

Hi Nelli - glad you found us. This is our 4th Hut - It has a wonderfully morose & eclectic bunch of visitors - and I think they are fab. I am also on an infertility website where I can find out more specifics about IVF and stuff but it is littered with awful bouncing icons and gushing references to babydust (whatever that is??) - The Hut dwellers are sound, realistic and often very, very funny.
Your rant sound perfect - keep it coming, Welcome.

beansprout · 05/04/2007 18:47

Welcome to Nelli.
Impy - am keeping all manner of things crossed for you.
Another work colleague pregnant here. Great.

Shagshagshag.

Right, now who wants some of this 6 feet high Green and Blacks Easter egg?

eclipse · 05/04/2007 19:09

Oh my god. Sneaked a peek at mumsnet at work and was distracted all day. Hope you're coping Impatience cos I can't bear the suspense. I've got it all crossed for you too.

Impatience · 05/04/2007 20:16

Thanks ladies. I shall be testing in the morning. Shall update then!

LatenightOwl · 05/04/2007 20:21

Hi Nelli
so sorry to hear that it didnt work - I really had my fingers and toes crossed for you and can truely say I know how you feel. This is my second home, its a great cosy place to curl up and listen to the fab banter - one or two characters are away at the moment basically these gals are fab although you do have to provide food, drink and other virtual substances from time to time to keep us all ticking over!....

Impatience - OMG - can't wait to hear your next instalment and hoping when I sign on tomorrow your Line is bright and PINK.

Bespeckledegg - I think I will check out the Daily Mail back pages tomorrow for a cherished number plate - FTC 1
how much do you reckon that one would cost

Anyway CBFMonitor says that Im coming up to the week of BDing - mentioned it in passing to DP who pretended not to hear.... so I can see this being a fun month.

Im going to skip the Chocy easter eggs this year ladies unless they have alcohol inside. Do you think they do such things???
