Thank you. Shall dash to Waterstones tomorrow to start taking steps. Saw a note of yours where you said you switched to decaff coffee. I always drank 3-4 cups a day and this didn't interfere with two kiddies, one a surprise, the other planned. Good luck.

runtus · 07/07/2004 11:29

Hello all, signing into the new thread - on CD6 here, second month of ttc. Glad to hear others are fighting the nosiness of friends and family too, we made the mistake of telling people we were going to try this year and now I can't move for people asking if there is any 'development'.

Just glad we banned everyone from mentioning it ot our respective mothers, couldn't bare the thought of sitting down to Sunday dinner woth his mother asking how it's going!

munchkinsusie · 07/07/2004 12:06

i don't know if you remember but yesterday (on thread TTC7) i asked if it was too early to do a HPT and you guys said probably. well... i was too impatient so i did a test and........

BFP!!!

thats only 7DPO! i hope it's not twins!! (no history in the family so should be ok)

anyway, i guess i can go and join the march thread now!

mrsflowerpot · 07/07/2004 12:11

Congratulations munchkinsusie

Enjoy the march thread and hopefully lots of us will join you there!

Staceyk · 07/07/2004 12:11

Congrats munchkinsusie, you are certainly going to make Azure's day. We've got our graduate for the week, so very good start.
Wishing you a happy healthly pregnancy.

munchkinsusie · 07/07/2004 12:51

thanks. i'm glad to be able to give Azure what she wanted!

sending lots of babydust your way!

Azure · 07/07/2004 12:57

Wow, many congratulations Munchkinsusie . I'm glad to see that people are following my new strict regime . Out of interest Munchkinsusie, as your last period was only a week or so after ovulating, could it have been an implantation bleed?

OP posts:
lostinparis · 07/07/2004 13:25

Congratulations munchkinsusie, I'm glad to see that so far ttc group 8 is a v. lucky group with a 100% success rate so far (on the basis of one a week)! Definitely the group to be in. I also am being driven mad by parents/in-laws/friends with bouncy babies asking when we are going to have one - there's nothing I want more! Maybe I'm over-sensitive but I think people just shouldn't ask (a bit like people know it is ill-mannered to ask what you earn as it's private etc. + as they never know if they are asking someone who desperate to get pg and doesn't really want to discuss it with everyone who is uncouth enough to ask).

Staceyk · 07/07/2004 13:40

This maybe a rather silly question, but hey I'm amongst friends. I have had really bad constipation for last 3 days! Now I have never ever had this before? Is it a sign of OV'ing? or anything? Or is it just a freak of nature that I'm wanting to read to much into. (FYI I've PCOS and on metformin at the mo)

lostinparis · 07/07/2004 13:47

Staceyk, I'm afraid I don't know if it's a sign of ovln. No harm in taking it to be a sign though and getting dh/dp to work out just in case! Drink lots of water and get going on the prunes/all bran etc!

munchkinsusie · 07/07/2004 14:22

azure, i don't think it would be an implantation bleed because my temperatures dropped as well. i think it's just because i only came off the pill before last month (ie only had two months off the pill) so i thought my body was getting back to normal - didn't think i'd manage to get pregnant!

Cyndii · 07/07/2004 14:47

Congrats to munchkinsusie yes hopefully we will all be joining you on the March thread!! Great news. All we can do is our best and pray and hope. Thank you Azure I hooked up on fertility friend and found it most fascinating but dh would be upset if knew I was reading it as he thinks I get worked up and then my body isn't relaxed to just let things happen, but I think if you have the facts your more prepared and it says that you only have a 20% chance of getting pregnant, so this month I feel a little more prepared.

I'm smothering myself and all you good ladies in baby dust!! Good Luck

lostinparis · 07/07/2004 16:16

Stupid question but is my basic digital thermometer a waste of time for basal temp - do I need a digital basal body temp thermometer. Wondering because I have just peeked at fertility friend which looks so well done that it might just tempt me to try finding a pattern in my temperature again!

yoyo · 07/07/2004 17:25

This is a fantastic book (100% success rate with me and several friends) - Fertility by Dr Elizabeth Clubb and Jane Knight, ISBN 0-7153-0424-0.

Good luck everyone.

BeckiF · 07/07/2004 19:41

May as well join in again .... I'm on CD 260-something ..... PCOS sufferer blah blah blah

Tex111 · 07/07/2004 20:21

I'm joining in again. Had a missed miscarriage two weeks ago but want to get right back on the horse (so to speak!). I'm feeling OK about the miscarriage but will be very glad when my hormones get back on an even keel. Been a terrible witch all day.

I'll be doing everything short of naked fertility dances in the moonlight (but ask me again if I'm not pregnant by Christmas!). I'm temping, using OPKs, cutting out caffeine and cutting back on alcohol. I was on a lo-carb diet but read an article that it can affect fertility in a negative way. Anyone else heard this?

Let the BDing begin and baby dust to all!!

Tex111 · 07/07/2004 20:23

Lostinparis, I've always uses a regular digital thermometer with no problems. Got pregnant with DS temping and charting and it worked a treat. So interesting to see how my cycles worked too. Good luck to you!

Azure · 09/07/2004 01:01

Tex111 so sorry to hear about your m/c but glad you sound positive about trying again. I have been advised that a low carb, high protein diet is good, so who knows what to believe? I had an uncomfortable bout of cystitis yesterday, so hope it's not affecting this month's ttc (CD 16, or is it 17?, now).

OP posts:
mitzi · 09/07/2004 01:35

Hi I am changing my name for this as I dont want anyone I know to know I am trying again.I had a m/c in Dec and everyone i know keeps asking if I am trying again yet(like it is anyone else business). So when it does happen I wont be telling anyone till I know everything is ok.I dont know how to predict when i am fertile and all that so we are just going to go for it.

bluestar · 09/07/2004 14:38

staceyk, I too get constipation for a few days around ov. This week has been particularly bad for me and my temps have shown a very obvious ov compared to last cycle. Typical as when you feel like this, you don't really fancy bding! I think I bd bang on ovulation this cycle as I had really bad stabbing pains on my left side in the afternoon and bd that night. See what happens in a week or so!

Congrats munchkinsusie . Hope all goes well for you.

Tex111, sorry to hear about mc. Good luck for next time.

Tex111 · 09/07/2004 23:47

Good luck bluestar. When I finally got PG with DS I had really bad Ov pains that month. Fingers crossed for you!

xoz · 10/07/2004 00:15

Hi I joined in at the end of ttc7, have been trying for a couple of months now for #3. Good luck to all...

smellymelly · 10/07/2004 12:32

Hello ladies - wanted to send you lots of babydust this way... ++++++++*

Tex111 - good to see you are starting again so soon. The baby I lost last year is due this month, and it really helps being pregnant.

Congrats Munkinsusie - a good start to this thread.

Also, on thread 6 or 7 we had a debate on how long you should lie down after b'ding, with legs in the air etc. Well just though I should add, that when I got pregnant this time I had a bath immediately, and was extremely generous with the soap, if you know what I mean?!?! As it wasn't the best month for me to fall, and hey presto, I'm 14 weeks!

My midwife/acupuncturist told me 'they' think it may only take 6 seconds for the sperm to reach the egg. (or 'eggs' in my case!)

Good luck to you all...

hana · 10/07/2004 12:45

Lots and lots of luck to everyone here......
Tex, you sound really positive, that's great.

Staceyk · 10/07/2004 12:47

Hi Smellymelly, nice to hear from you, thanks for popping back to say Hi. It reminds us that graduation is possible. Take Care
