Come and join me in this new thread. I want a least one graduate per week and no ttcing to take longer than two months for everyone here!!

Sorry to hear about the BFN Xoz. I didn't get a positive with DS until over a week after AF was due. Hang on in there.

katierocket, textbooks say that you ovulate day 14 of a 28 day cycle, but how many of us on here have 28 day cycles for a start! Really they should read that you can ovulate 12-16 days BEFORE the start of your next period. So if you have a 32 day cycle, count back 16 days and start bding from then on in. If you don't have regular cycles, may be worth having a go at temping or using OPKs. Have a look at Fertility Friend website for more info. Good luck x

xoz · 14/07/2004 12:09

Thanks Azure... I'm not too worried. Still no AF today, and I really feel like I am pg. So much like the first 2 times. I'll test again in a couple of days if AF doesn't show up.

Cyndii · 14/07/2004 12:41

Xoz ~ fingers crossed for you but it is looking positive for you!! Good Luck.

Strawberry ~ did hear of the first response test I used it last month. I used the first test 3 days before my af due and it gave a really faint positive and I was delighted (as you would be) and then on the day before I was due my af I did another one, just to be sure and it was a bfn I was so upset and the following day I had such a heavy af! So I don't know if to recommend it or not.

Piffleoffagus ~ this month my af will be the Monday after yours so I hope for the same results as you!!! Fingers crossed for everyone!! Hard business this!! Don't know if will or will not be.

Silly Question, but once you have a mucus discharge how long are you fertile for? I mean is three, four days??????? If anyone can answer I might have an idea if I will have a positive or not?

Thanks and bluestar I hope your wish is granted!

Tex111 · 14/07/2004 13:23

I used the First Response test with DS (so almost three years ago) and got a light line 5 days before AF was due! They did think he might be twins for the first few months because the yolk sac was so big on the scans. Maybe that's why I got a line so early. Glad to hear they're even more sensitive now as I am a compulsive tester!

Sorry to hear about your BFN xoz but glad you're feeling so positive.

Welcome Piffleafagus and good luck to you!

Temp went up a bit more today so just waiting for AF now.

Seabird · 14/07/2004 14:18

Hello - May I please join you? Currently on CD5 on our 3rd month of trying. DD is nearly 8 months old, it took 7 cycles to get pregnant with her, so we're starting early this time. (Thought that would make me less obsessed this time but doesn't seem to be working so far)

My biggest problem is DH's lack of interest in BD'ing! He definitely wants another baby, it's not sub-conscious sabotage, he's just always had a low s*x-drive. This leads to a vicious circle with me becoming more obsessed with checking when I ov and the pressure on him building up. It's no coincidence that the month we conceived DD was the one month we managed to BD twice rather than just once in the month! This is not a problem I've not noticed anyone else mention, maybe I should start a new thread asking for advice.

Away til Sunday but meantime Good Luck to all over the weekend.

runtus · 14/07/2004 15:31

Damn, as I've only recently come off the pill I don't actually know how long my cycle is (the last one was cd38 but not sure if that is going to be the average now...)

I counted 14 days since the last period and guessed that would be ovulation time but now I don't know?? I suppose I will have to treat the coming weekend as another possible ovulation time too? I've been trying to check my CF signs but just guess work really and I don't want to start temp charting just yet as we have only recently started ttc.

Any more advice?

runtus · 14/07/2004 15:51

I am so with you Seabird! My other half has never really had a big sexdrive either and it only ever seems to improve on holiday. I think it's all stress related with him really. When we are away from home seems to be the only time he can get away from work mentally enough to properly relax.

I know it isn't always practical (esp with your DD) but is there anyway you can sneak away for a night or two, pref around your fertile time? If it helps, I have recently stopped talking to my DH about fertile times etc and he seems to find it all less stressful now.

If all else fails - I buy lots of his favourite tipple and arrange a nice quiet night in!

Either way, let me know how you do - sounds like we have a lot in common!

Azure · 14/07/2004 16:10

Friday afternoon recap. No graduate yet this week, but hoping for lots of good news before Monday. Best of luck Xoz. Gold123, Mrsflowerpot and Bluestar - are you all coming to the end of your cycle? Are there any other hopefuls? Sprinkles of baby dust to all.

CantBelieveItYet · 14/07/2004 17:04

If it's any help, I was lurking on this thread for a bit and was going to post, but as it was my first month ttc I was going to wait a bit....and then I found out I was pregnant on Wednesday! So I could be your theoretical graduate if noone else emerges
Good luck to everyone who's trying.

lostinparis · 14/07/2004 18:05

Thank goodness for that, we've still got a 100% success rate! Means we're going to be falling pg like dominos over the next few weeks ladies as under Azure's rules everyone's graduating within two months! Well, got to keep hoping..........

mrsflowerpot · 14/07/2004 18:25

nearly at end of cycle but woke up this morning with achy legs and overwhelming desire to kill dh which are usually sure signs of AF, so don't count on any good news from me!

Azure · 14/07/2004 18:33

Can'tBelieveItYet - many, many congratulations . I would be delighted to call you graduate-of-the-week!

OP posts:
CantBelieveItYet · 14/07/2004 19:04

Thanks Azure. Am still in a state of disbelief, hence the pseudonym. I'm sure you'll all be clamouring for the title soon

bluestar · 14/07/2004 20:18

runtus, is this your first month of ttc since coming off the pill? If yes, then the chances are that if you do ovulate this first cycle, then it will be around day 14 as pill cycles are 28 days. Some people say that the first month off a pill can be your most fertile time so you never know. My best friend got pregnant this way. Good luck.

ChaCha · 14/07/2004 22:08

Hi everyone! It's been a while, but i'm back, CD2 today and trying to stay very positive. Quick question, i have been taking 40mg of tamoxifen (guess it's equivalent is clomid) and some progesterone (yuk) from CD14 onwards. My specialist has just told me to get on with it and call me with the 'good news' if and when it happens! He says there is no need for follicle scanning as i have ovulated fine the last few cycles. Does that sound right? I'm really hopeful for a pregnancy this year, its been a couple of long years trying, but i guess with the endo you can't really call it trying - dunno!
OH well, here goes another cycle...
xx

Slink · 14/07/2004 23:28

Seabird and Rutus have you not read my threads there are loads my dh has a low sex drive, we have been trying i guess for 6months nothing (but thats coz of the sex) did ovul test never ovul when they said i was meant to. So i am thinking of leaving it for a while and just wait and see i think the tests put them of although dh says he prefers that way he really wants another. With dd i went to acupunture fell pregnant next month.........may do that.

Good luck to all xxxxx

bluestar · 14/07/2004 23:46

Think I spoke too soon. Have had some brown spotting today. Only on 9DPO and have never spotted this early, usually very late on 10DPO. Would like to think its implantation spotting but realistically know that it's probably not. Mrsflowerpot, know what you mean, I seem to have it in for dh too just before af arrives!

Congrats to CantBelieveItYet

Off to watch BB now!

Slink · 14/07/2004 23:59

Blustar hope it's just poo spotting lets us know fingers crossed
off to watch bb too

xoz · 15/07/2004 00:20

Congratulations CBIY.
Azure, AF is already 3 days late... maybe I'll be able to say for sure by Mon... hope I'll be next weeks graduate

popsycal · 15/07/2004 00:38

bluestar - i spotted early - doc said it can happen due to hormones
all cleared up on day that af was due....
i am ermentrude btw
good luck

ShouldKnowByFriday · 15/07/2004 02:59

Funny thing happened this week...my Nanny who is not ttc announces SHE is pregnant!!!! She is in shock and unsure (am being v.positive for her) and I am amused by life's little jokes!
Congratulations to all those who have succeeded this month!

runtus · 15/07/2004 08:22

Bluestar - this is the second month, so I don't know if the first cycle length was typical or messed up due to the pill withdrawl, hence I don;t know how long this cycle will be. Would I have still ovulated 14 days after AF?

Azure · 15/07/2004 09:44

Hi ChaCha - sorry to hear about AF but glad you're sounding upbeat. CD29 for me today. My last two cycles have been 30 days. Dilemma time - I'm going to a wedding Saturday without DS, staying overnight in a hotel, and I've been looking forward to having a fun evening with a few glasses of champagne. If AF doesn't appear by Saturday morning, should I test or not? If I don't test can I naughtily drink in ignorance of any pregnancy? If I do test and am pregnant, then I can't really and it would be difficult explaining why (not wanting to announce any pregnancy at that early stage). Of course, I'm probably not pregnant, so the question is somewhat academic. Hmmm.

OP posts:
mrsflowerpot · 15/07/2004 09:55

sorry about AF, ChaCha. Can't help you with your question, but the specialist sounds positive and it's great that you've been ovulating fine.

Ooh Azure, been there with your dilemma. It feels like playing the odds, doesn't it. I'd probably test, I have no self control. Then if you're not pg, you can let your hair down, and if you are, you'll be happy anyway so you won't miss the bubbly. You can always claim a 'bit of an infection' if anyone asks. Or be the designated driver?
