Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

Age: 25
Cycle: 5
CD: 15

I'm new to all of this and love to hear I'm not the only one with frustrations TTC.
Me & my OH work shifts to finding time to DTD can be hard. Hoping my time will be soon!Grin

Hippychic79 · 24/01/2017 11:12

welcome Zeb :)
I think we all get frustrated with this TTC lark - I think its perfectly normal. PMA - you're 25 years old... you've got time on your side.
Completely empathise on the shift front thing... especially the tiredness that stems from an erratic shift pattern and the effect that has on dtd .... its reassuring to know we're not alone... think lots of us are in the same boat :))

I'm sure all our time will come this year xxx

Thank you! It is especially as my job is very stressful both physically and mentally. My boyfriend is 30 and we decided to start sooner rather than later as there is a few of my family members with fertility problems. Baby dust to all Halo xxx

Hippychic79 · 24/01/2017 12:28

Luckily it only takes one time and one sperm.... challenge is know which time and which sperm :))
I've read quite a few different threads on here and i think lots of women have fertility challenges.... I've seen lots of positive stories of how women have conceived under very challenging circumstances ....
I'm sure you'll be fine... PMA all the way

Useful diet information that I've just read, thought I'd share.

A comprehensive examination of diet and fertility in an eight-year study of more than 18,000 women found these 8 things that improve fertility in women:11
Unsaturated vegetable oils found in nuts and seeds like walnuts, almonds, olive oil, and avocado oil to help improve the body’s sensitivity to insulin and heal inflammation, both factors being important for fertility
Oily fish like salmon and sardines—just make sure you are buying from a good place as stale fish leads to health complications
Vegetable proteins such as beans, peas, and nuts
Carbs like whole grains, vegetables, and whole fruits that are slowly digested
Whole milk and full-fat yogurt, not skimmed milk
Multivitamins to get some extra folic acid, about 400 micrograms a day
Plant irons like whole grain cereals, pumpkin, spinach, tomatoes, and beetroot
Water in sufficient quantity

Men need to have a healthy diet as well to increase chances of conception. Some of the nutrients that improve semen production and quality in men are:

Zinc, found in beef, pumpkins, and spinach, increases the sperm count and motility
Vitamin C, found in leafy greens and citrus fruits, prevents sperm from clumping together
Vitamin E in combination with selenium, found in almonds and chia seeds, respectively, enhance sperm quality
Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish oils and chia seeds, enhance sperm viability

I'll catch up later when I'm home from work but nipping in to say Hippy re fertility diets, I read that garden peas are a natural contraceptive. So they are strictly off the menu in our house!

Kaydee2017 · 24/01/2017 17:08

Did not know that Tonks!! I love garden peas too Sad

So much useful info there too hippy! Need to have a think as to how I can incorporate some of it now Smile

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 24/01/2017 18:27

Hello everyone Grin. I hope everyone is well and feeling positive.
Oooo peas are now banned thank you Tonks!!!
Wow, £30 for ten!!

So ..... digital OPKs came today and I saved up my pee and tested. BIG FAT NEGATIVE!!!!!! Honestly, it's now CD14!!!! Wouldn't it have picked something up by now if I'd have ovulated? I even did an IC just incase and that was also negativeSad.
I'm trying to stay positive by how am I supposed to get up the duff without ovulating!
Does anyone have any positive advice?!

Kaydee2017 · 24/01/2017 19:00

Salem I don't do OPKs but there's a chance you may have just missed it! I think they go from positive to negative in a matter of hours! Don't be disheartened! I think the advice is to start on once a day early in your cycle then go to 2-3 a day when you think you're likely to be ovulating, so you don't miss it - is that something you could do? GL!!

sweetcheeks24 · 24/01/2017 23:09

Sorry to hear about your first attempt with the opk Salem, but Kaydee's advice sounds good! And perhaps that particular one was defective...? Good luck with the next one and let us know how you get on!
Great diet tips, thanks Hippy; and I also didn't have a clue re the garden peas so thank you too Tonks!
As usual, I'm wide awake at bedtime despite feeling like a total zombie all day long - not helped by the fact that DH is currently snoring his head off!! 😩
As there seems to be no sign of getting any sleep anytime soon.... where is everyone based? Guessing mostly down south...? I am in Edinburgh Smile

Hippychic79 · 25/01/2017 07:37

Salem - I echo that - kaydees advice sounds good. Don't be disheartened I've read a lot of books on tTC and googled the absolute shit out of it and I'm pretty sure we don't ovulate every month so try not to get too worried. My cycles are 26-29 days and so far I've got positives on cd13 & cd14. I'm cd11 today and started using my opks this morning - negative. I'm pleased as I'm off to London today and won't be back till 10pm ... so you might not hear from me much today... and I know I'll be exhausted by the time I get back so dtd is not on the cards tonight:(
Thanks Tonks - garden peas are now banned here too :))
I'm in the south west near Bristol :))
Hope you managed to get some sleep sweet - my oh snores too but then he says I do too :)))
Happy Wednesday ladies xxx

I have been reading this thread and love the PMA ladies. I need a big dose of it myself today as AF arrived this morning and I am feeling rather down about it.

I am now entering cycle 8 of ttc #2. I know that isn't loads of time but I am 34 and 3 months so no spring chicken, even if I may have a good few fertile years ahead of me.

My DS is 2 years 3 months and was conceived on cycle 12. My cycles were much more irregular then and I think I only started to understand them properly towards the end of that year. I was hoping that this time I would conceive quicker and am starting to feel the pressure.

I am taking vitamins, using Ovia, observing CM and doing CB digital opks so am doing all I can for the moment but am getting so impatient (I really don't want to temp as I am quite a restless sleeper).

Any tips for relaxing or getting pregnant welcome! Good luck and baby dust to all.

sweetcheeks24 · 25/01/2017 13:48

Welcome to the group, Magpie! Sorry to hear AF arrived today – hugs to you!

Your situation sounds similar to mine (DS is now 19 months, conceived on cycle 14, I’m coming up to age 37 and DH doesn’t want to try for longer than 1 year so also feeling the pressure!) and I too felt like it took me a long time to get to grips with my irregular cycles. Sounds like you are doing all the right things to boost your chances of conception so that’s already a great start! Hopefully you will also find the other ladies’ suggestions helpful too (so many great tips put forward already!) and, of course, the all-important PMA! I haven’t bothered much with taking BBT either as I always forget first thing in the morning, and don’t think my thermometer is very reliable anyway.

Hope your day gets better and that the positivity thread will help pick your spirits back up a little xx

ArchiesMamaBird · 25/01/2017 15:45

Can I please join ladies?

Currently ttc DC2. My stats are:

Age 25
Cycle 9
Bfp due 7th/8th Feb

ArchiesMamaBird · 25/01/2017 15:48

Oh and here is my favourite quote. I had this as a screensaver on my phone 4 years ago because we had had a bit of bad luck with money (nothing major, but we'd not long bought our first house and were struggling) and then I ended up crashing my car and writing it off. Kept looking at my screensaver to try and stay positive, and then 5 days later found out that I was pregnant with DS!

Hi,
Ive always been one to preach the PMA to others and ignore it myself so this thread seems like a good idea.
Age 27
TTC #1, cycle 1,
BFP due 27th jan- but i have no tests in the house and dont want to get any until offically late so looking more like monday 30th possibllyyyy

Kaydee2017 · 25/01/2017 17:26

You are the queen of this PMA hippy! Hope your OPKs start to pick up from tomorrow! Fx!

Hi magpie! Sorry for AF Flowers

Hi Archies, fx for your FW* & glittery*! Fx for a BFP Grin

Is it wrong my PMA for today is that DH is going out this evening so my to & sofa are all mine??! DTD CD6, 9, 10 & 12 so day off today & back on it tomorrow for hopefully 14, 15 & 16! Maybe 17 for luck if we can manage it!!

PMA to all Halo

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 25/01/2017 18:01

Sorry to hear about AF Magpie
Welcome to Archie & glittery.

Thanks for the advice Kaydee & sounds like a lovely evening ahead for you!
Hope you have had a good time in London today Hippy - did you do anything nice?
Sweetcheeks I'm reliable with bbt during work mornings but not at the weekend when I want a lie in!!!

SO I have a conundrum. CD15 today and did a digital opk which came back negative. The IC one also came back negative BUT I think a little line is appearing?! Is this hope that maybe I will ovulate this month?!?

Top is opk from CD14
Bottom is opk from CD15

Hippychic79 · 25/01/2017 20:10

Yaaaay welcome magpie, Archie's and glittery... I am so pleased this thread is starting to fill up a little :)))
Thank you for saying I'm the queen of positive kaydee - I'm not always positive ... I'm just always trying to be positive ... I'm not an annoying happy person ... I'm just really keen to see if being positive with others nets some bfp's .... like some of you ladies I'm starting to get a little impatient.... especially as I missed my whole fw last month....
Magpie - I'll have a look for some relaxation tips and get back to you on that ... just on the train right now coming back from london ... posting on my phone is a lot more tricky than using my pc.
Glad the day is almost over - it was a work related trip to London, so not fun in the slightest.
Sorry for af magpie Flowers xxx
Fx you get first cycle lucky glittery :))
Kaydee - absolutely not ... enjoy your sofa and tv domination:))))
Salem - opks are starting to look darker, i would continue to test in morning with cb - first wee of day and use cheaper ones at night to ensure you don't miss it .... Keep us posted and good luck.

CD12 here and a negative OPK this morning which i was expecting as I've only got positives on cd14 & 15 so far... fx i get a positive on the wk end as its oh's wk end off... lets just hope he has an easy few days and isn't too tired from his night shift friday... I'm starting to get nervous as oh's sex drive is so variable and if he's not on form he doesn't always finish dtd.... I really need him too this weekend.... i need to be in with a chance this cycle.

How's everyone else doing?

Salem - how's your OPK result today?
