Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

Hippychic - in that case, thanks for the reassuring second welcome - I would love to stay! Smile Yep, I totally get you, seems like so many other posters are sexing it up all the time!Grin If DH and I dtd on one night, I know for sure it's not going to happen the next night! Maybe not even the following night, depending how tired he is Confused
Tonks - love your positivity! It is infectious! This thread is working already!

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 23/01/2017 06:40

Tonks that's always nice to have a positive OpK. Mine have all been negative so far but FF has predicted Ovulation according to my temperature - so I'm not sure what to think!

Annesorry to hear that but sending you positive thoughts (was going so put PMT - positive mental thoughts - but maybe not the best acronym!)

How is everyone this morning?

Hippychic79 · 23/01/2017 09:05

Morning ladies ... Happy Monday :)))

Welcome Irish - hopefully you will bring yourself and us all the luck of the Irish. My Nan was Irish - beautiful country, love it :) You're welcome, I love prayers and affirmations... the religious side of me comes from my dear old Nan. I would definitely recommend OPK's - I find that they're a double edge sword though, they take the guess work out which is great (less stress) but then if you don't get chance to dtd within the 48-72 hour window, it does stress me out, but hey ho.... least it saves a pregnancy test lol xxx

Tonks - Hi and welcome to you too.

PMA is a learnt behaviour closely linked to optimism - so yeah it does feel forced at first, especially if your default setting is to see the bad in things... but with practice ... it will soon become a good habit and will help with every area of life not just TTC. It's good to get something definite as we travel towards our BFP's.
How long are your cycles? CD11 is quite early but not a bad thing - my last positive opk was CD13 on a 26 day cycle... my cycles range from 26-28 days usually.

Anne - welcome to you too. Sorry to hear about MC & MCC, completely see why you'd be nervous... so i think its even more amazing that you are staying positive, its ace.

Yeah the 2WW is a pain but fair play for keeping busy & focused on being healthy & relaxed.... it really is all any of us can do until mother nature gets an iphone and decides to text us when we're pregnant or even better, gives us the month that it will happen so we can all drink a little wine up to that month :))))
I'm using Ovia too :)))

Sweet - I'm totally with you on dtd ... if oh succeeds one night, I can guarantee it will be a minimum of 4 days if not 5 before he's up for it again, unless of course there's planned events which may mean if we don't dtd sooner he may have to wait more than a week. I'm lucky if i get laid once a week at the moment as he's so freaking tired ... and I'm even luckier if he completes the deed!

Salem - I wasn't getting any positive opk's at first so I started weekly acupuncture and now i am ovulating ... I know its expensive in most areas but there's only a few fertility points so if you enquire about it, just say you only want a couple of needles (not whole body healing) and that you want it weekly and he or she may do you a deal... worth an ask. I pay £7.50 an hour and was shocked how cheap it was!

Have a beautiful day ladies

Thank you Salem and Hippy Smile

Morning all. I feel happy, relaxed, excited and peaceful today. Truly nothing like a decent sleep. Hope you're well well!

Hippychic79 · 23/01/2017 12:19

You are so right Anne - you can't beat a decent nights sleep and if you're managing to achieve this during the 2WW - you're doing well... I find myself waking up a lot during the 2WW especially when I feel like I'm in with a good chance. It's exciting but nerve wracking ... especially when TTC #1.....
Can't wait till we get our first BFP's

Anne I love Ovia, too. It may not be the most "technical" app but I like reading the tips and looking at my score. I'm glad you had a good rest, as Hippy said, there is nothing as good as a great sleep!

Hippy that is such a good price! I used to have acupuncture for another health concern and it was good. The lady who did it specialised in fertility. It was £35 a session however!

I'm just going to opk tonight when I get home from work. I am confused though because FF has told me I have already ovulated because of my tenpterature. I don't think I have thought as my OPKs have been negative and Ive not had EWCM.
I am positively sticking to Ovia's predictions of Fw!

Hippychic79 · 23/01/2017 13:20

I like the apps but they are a little contradictory - I use Ovia and Glow and they say slightly different things regarding fw.
Which brand of opks are you using? I was using the cheaper ones where you need to detect the line and they didn't work for me so i moved onto the clear blue digital ones with a blank circle for no and a smiley for yes... they are a little bit expensive but i would definitely recommend them. Two months of using them and I've had a smiley at CD13 and CD14... issue i've had is dtd after the smiley face.... due to oh working loads and last month we both had colds... so frustrating!
Wow £35 is a lot - do you know how many needles you had? I only have 6 sometimes 8 every week. If she's a fertility expert she will definitely be able to help... I'd call her and see if she'll do a deal... PMA :))))

Tonks87 · 23/01/2017 13:34

Hippy my luteal phase is 12 days so this cycle will be 23 days, my shortest one since coming off the pill last August. Last month I Ov'd on CD 16 so had a 28 day cycle.

I have my first fertility acupuncture appointment booked for later today (£45 a pop!). FX it will help something stick!

Anne I like Ovia for the facts and use it as a back up for fertility friend but I don't trust anything it says!

Salem do you hold your wee in for 4 hours and limit fluid intake before doing OPK's? That's what I do, I also test at least twice a day. My surge is quick so I can have a negative in the am and a positive by the pm.

Kaydee2017 · 23/01/2017 13:48

Hi ladies, can I join too??

Cycle 2
CD11
No idea when BFP due, last cycle was 30 days so here's hoping Grin

On a couple of other threads but love this idea!! My PMA this cycle is that me & DH are both only 27, and this is 1st 'proper' cycle after 1st 'proper' AF after coming off the pill!

Happy Monday all Brew

Hippychic79 · 23/01/2017 14:07

Tonks - it sounds like your cycles are just settling down, I think 23 - 28 is within the range they should be. I know they say 28 days is the ideal, but we're all different, so we all have different cycle lengths. I'm glad mine was a bit shorter this month, the 2ww is shit when you know you're out already cuz you dtd! LOL
Good luck with your acupuncture appointment tonight - SNAP, I've got one tonight too. Wow £45 - I'm guessing your in the london area... try and see if she'll do you a deal on a course of say 6 or 8, I'm not sure 1 will be enough, but i might be wrong... it only takes one sperm after all :))))) xxx

Welcome Kaydee - :) Loving your Monday PMA... wish i was 27 lol .... first cycle ... just relax and have fun ... enjoy the ride (DH and on here :))

Interesting to see views on Ovia, what do you not trust Tonks? I have pretty regular cycles and to date the FW predictions have been right, my data coincides with what it says.

I haven't used Fertility Friend but might give it a go. How's it different?

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 23/01/2017 17:12

I know £35 is really expensive for acupuncture! She put about 9-10 needles in but it was relaxing!

Just did another opk on CD13 and negative! Not even a hint of a line. I know Ive only been off the pill since October but surely I should be getting a feint line on the OPKs?
I'm using the babymad ones from Amazon. Is it worth buying the digital ones?

Last month I could tell I was Ovulating as I did have some ovulation pains. Hmmmmmm.

Sorry for being so stressed!!!! Hope everyone else has had a good day & love the quotes Hippy.

Anne FF gives you an in depth chart which tells you all about your temp & dpo. I think it's good if you track BBT.

Hippychic79 · 23/01/2017 18:04

Salem - i would stick with the acupuncture if you can afford to at that price. You're right it is very relaxing :))
I would do what tonks said - hold your wee for 4 hours before testing, don't drink too much water and test twice a day ... if still no result I'd personally switch to clear blue digital but others may disagree... I used cheap ones from savers initially and was pinky getting a very faint spuint of a line. I gave the opks a rest for a month or two, started acupuncture and then moved onto digital clear blue opks.

What does everyone else think?

Glad you like the quotes :)))

I love today's quotes, HippyChic! Smile
Hope everybody has had a good day!
I'm learning so much from this thread already - how have I never heard of fertility acupuncture before?! And I have also never tried opks- no wonder it took me so long first time round....naively thought I didn't need to do anything to help things along! Now I know better!
I'm starting to get those confusing cramps that make me wonder if I'm implanting....had them for the last 3 cycles! Strangely, I don't ever recall having had cramps before AF in the past (always during) - seems my body wants to mess with my mind!! Anybody else starting to feel any "am I or am I not" symptoms during their 2ww??

Hippychic79 · 23/01/2017 20:08

Glad you like the quotes Sweet :)
Acupuncture certainly can help with tTC as can opks ... all I need to do now is find a miracle cure to get my oh's sex drive up and I'll be well away :))))
I've also read on here that pineapple is good to eat to aid fertility and wearing bed socks ....
All tips welcome :)))
Xxx

OP posts:
sweetcheeks24 · 23/01/2017 20:36

Pineapple and bed socks - how random! You'd think bed socks might hamper getting started with dtd Wink Not the sexiest bedroom attire! Haha. If I figure out a way to increase DH's libido, I'll share my findings with you!!! Grin

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 23/01/2017 21:17

My DH is the same but he is very "understanding" during FW! Ive been eating pineapple this week, woohoo!

I have caved in and bought a digital OPK - £20 for 10, yikes!!!!

sweetcheeks I am the same during 2ww. Last time, I think I had convinced myself l was upduffed to the extent I gave myself stress spotting & consequently thought that was implantation bleeding. Pathetic of me!!!

Kaydee2017 · 23/01/2017 21:47

Excellent quotes hippy Grin

sweetcheeks24 · 23/01/2017 22:04

That's it - I'm shopping for 🍍🍍🍍🍍tomorrow!! Think that's why I've avoided opks for so long - the expense!
@SalemTheTeenageWitch - "upduffed"! Love it! Didn't realise stress spotting was even a thing. The body is capable of crazy (and cruel) things when we are TTCSad Hopefully any subsequent bouts of cramping and spotting are a sure fire sign of your BFP!!

Sweet - yes yes yes libido increasing tips welcome :))) although I'm delighted to announce oh and i dtd last night for the first time in an eye watering 3 weeks! Sadly only cd9 so slightly out of fw week but keeping it positive ... oh has a few days to regain his strength :)))
Enjoy your pineapple :))) I have no idea how true that is by the way ;) xxx

Salem - eeeeek .... I truly hope you get on with them ... I know the price is eye watering ... even more so in sainsburys... £30 for 10!!! Let us know how you get on with them xxx

Thanks Kaydee xxx
