The book is called The Baby Making Bible by Emma Cannon and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. It amalgamates the science and holistic approach to TTC perfectly in my humble opinion and it offers specific advice based on the type of person you are and the potential issues that you may have. For example, I am a cold person (always got cold hands and feet), prior to reading this book I was –quite happily—eating salad for lunch every day, however it recommended that I steer clear of raw foods and opt instead for warming soups. The Taking Charge of your Fertility book by Toni Weschler is fantastic on the science front as it goes into great detail about how to chart (too complicated for me) and the art of babymaking by Gerad Kite is amazing from a holistic approach point of view which is more up my street.
Excentric Any sign of a BFP yet? You’re DH is welcome to comment on our thread if he so wishes, it’s a shame they don’t have a dads.net. I wish my OH was in the thick of it, he doesn’t want to try properly until we’ve been on holiday. Last year we went to Barbados and it was amazing, so much so, he wants to go again… but I’m desperately trying to clear down my credit card so can’t afford to go on another major holiday. So I’ve convinced him to go to Cyprus instead and have convinced OH to put the Caribbean off till later in the year. He has said that after the Caribbean we can try for a baby, but I’m 38, he’s going to be 42 in June. He also thinks that as we’ve only been together just over a year, we should take things slowly (ish). Whilst I can see his point I also think he’s being a bit selfish. I would love to talk to him about it but I’m just too scared.
Phase You are doing absolutely nothing wrong hun. From all the books I’ve read, it does state that we’ve only got a 30% chance each cycle of success even if we do catch at the right time. It’s completely understandable that your PMA took a hit when the stupid witch arrived, everyone’s does… even mine and I’m the one who bangs on about PMA the most! Be kind to yourself and see it as another cycle to prepare your body and get healthy for this imminent pregnancy of yours and another month with these lovely ladies.
Magpie Thank you for the real life reassurance that it took 12 months to conceive your DS, my sister in law took 18 months ladies and she has two beautiful DS’s.
Anna Great PMA. Sorry to hear the jacuzzi wasn’t working. Not long now till Florence …. Yaaaaay I hate waiting for FW too, you’re not alone hun! CD7 sucks roll on the big O next week
Salam So relieved to hear that I’m not the only one who takes pics of their positive OPK’s
Bella One week till your anticipated BFP …. I’m excited for you Bless your DH for symptom spotting for you – that’s hilarious, like we need help with this . I’m constantly daydreaming about how I’d tell people when I get upduffed, not sure I’d make the 12 week mark especially in light of how long I’ve been TTC!
Reference all the holiday talk – I’m glad I’m not alone in postponing holidays. DP is desperate to book our flights to Cyprus for June and I keep putting him off telling him we’ll save money if we go last minute. I also haven’t reminded him that his passport is out of date and that he’ll need a new one, of course he hasn’t noticed this himself, so that should buy me another couple of weeks
Baking Glad to hear your DH is better, good news
Owl Welcome to thread PMA. Sorry to hear about your MC. This is definitely the place to be for positivity, individually we all have our bad days, but collectively we gee each on and help each other to stay positive. Drop on in as often as you like
Archies Welcome back hun, was wondering where you’d got to. Bloody baby bombs, I feel your pain. It’s so hard to say congratulations when you’re really thinking – it’s my bloody turn!
Sarahb Hey Sarah, I’m exactly the same about planning everything these days not just holidays, DP likes going to gigs and wanted to go see Stone Roses can’t remember where now and I was thinking ‘no I can’t cope with the crowds I’ll be X months pg by then’.
I bet if we all book ourselves holidays, we’ll all get upduffed.
NannyG Welcome. Sorry to hear about your mc. The doctors clearly got their diagnosis wrong. You’re clearly ovulating which is a great start, I think you’ll be fine. PMA – you’re 25 years old…. I’m 38, I would do anything to be 25 again
Bella Great PMA reference the law of averages calculation and good luck with the funeral today
Sarahb Thank you for the PMA quote and yes you’re only on cycle 7…. Although I’ve been given this some thought this morning – does it really matter how many facking cycles we’ve been through? I’m wondering whether we scrub stating this when we plug in our stats again on a new thread.
Rose The Gold Star PMA award for today goes to you my friend…. PMA on the day of AF is absolutely inspirational, you’re amazing…. I don’t mean this to sound harsh to anyone else on cycle 1 or 2 of TTC as I would love to see everyone get their BFPs sooner rather than later…. But for ladies like yourself Rose and Sarahb… I will be extra over the moon and back to see your BFPs ….
Magpie The Baby Making Bible book is excellent for diet tips. I will post some more information as and when it seems appropriate but it is difficult because we’re all different so I only really want to post the generic stuff, but I would definitely recommend this book and no I’m not on commission.
Right ladies … I think we’re almost at the end of our first thread so I will create PMA thread #2 shortly….
