Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

@anna we went to jamaica. sheer bliss! i fancied thailand but DH didn't. it's still on my list, bet it was brilliant x

bakingmad83 · 16/02/2017 21:29

Evening ladies and welcome Excentric!

Thanks Hippychic, DH is actually loads better today after a decent sleep and went back to work tonight, so roll on Saturday :)

Moo - will just have to remember you're 2 days ahead of me if I lose track :)

Sorry to hear af arrived for you Phase. Fingers crossed March is your month!

Anna2006 · 16/02/2017 21:51

@bella aw yes Jamaica looks amazing. That's on my to do list but dunno if we're likely to fit that in with little ones lol. Exp!

Thailand has deff been my fav place. But made it extra special as honeymoon. There just the loveliest people. We loved Cuba too.

CD7 for me tomorrow so one week down and one week to go until big O day!

Owl1011 · 16/02/2017 22:20

Hi ladies, would it be ok if I tentatively joined? Reason being I'm currently waiting for first AF post mc in January, she's due any day now. We can't wait to TTC again (#1) so I'm trying to get in the right frame of mind ahead of time and I think this is definitely the thread for plenty of positivity!

I'll admit I've been following the thread for a couple of days (without trying to sound like a creepy lurker!) and I absolutely love the PMA, it's so uplifting!

Thank you ladies, hope you don't mind me dropping in Smile

Moo31 · 16/02/2017 23:10

Welcome owl :) So sorry to hear about mc. lots of love and positivity oh this thread - you've come to the right place :) xo

ArchiesMamaBird · 16/02/2017 23:12

Evening ladies. Been super busy the last few days so haven't posted anything, but I've just had a quick read through. Just been hit with another baby bomb Confused

Oh well, PMA and all that Grin

sarahboro1 · 16/02/2017 23:37

Hey everyone! Welcome to the newbies!! 👋🏼 Still waiting for a positive opk, cd14 today so should be here soon. Just about keeping up with you all, all the holiday talk is making me highly jealous!! We were just talking about Thailand tonight, been 3 times now and hubby is wanting to go back. I find myself thinking though 'well I could be ...months pregnant by then' I don't want to travel that far!!! Anyone else find themselves thinking like that??!! Xx

MissMagpie · 16/02/2017 23:42

phase my DS is an October 2014 baby so very close to yours.

I agree on getting the travelling out the way now. In fact I am thinking if I don't get upduffed soon I'm going to book a nice holiday as compensation. Though not sure a 2yo on a long haul is a good idea!

I have been out with friends tonight and had a couple of drinks....oops. Told my DH that the stress busting from having a good time must outweigh any effects of alcohol!

Hippychic79 · 17/02/2017 05:52

Friday positivity lovelies xxx

hi @owl sorry to hear of your mc. Flowers happy to see you're excited to TTC x

Hippychic79 · 17/02/2017 07:20

The attached extract from the book I posted yesterday written by a fertility expert explains here why you should prepare for 4 months prior to tTC ... based on this information I feel justifiably that for all of us that have been tTC for 4+ months should knock off 4 cycles ... so if your on cycle 6 ... you actually now on cycle 2.
Xxx

@archies. damn those baby bombers (for the bomb not the baby). iv only had 1 male
colleague tell me his OH is upduffed since we TTC so i felt ok as i don't really know them.

makes me think though - iv seen some posts of how you're all going to tell DH/OH but have you allowed yourself to think of how you're going to tell friends and family?

i haven't been able to stop myself from this over last few days 🙈

BellaMoon · 17/02/2017 07:24

@sarah YES! iv gone through my calendar and noted significant events and thought, oh ill be * months by then or if we booked that trip i'll be fine to fly by then! even in work yesterday boss said he needed me to go to wales soon and i instantly thought BABY! it's actually soooo distracting now x

BellaMoon · 17/02/2017 07:26

@magpie Winecheers Smile it's your "treat yourself days" go for it! i think ill do the same tomorrow, just a couple mind but ill enjoy every drop x

BellaMoon · 17/02/2017 07:29

@hippy that makes for very interesting reading. which book is that again? in fact which book would you suggest i buy first? (i know you have a fab collection just can't remember them) xx

BellaMoon · 17/02/2017 07:32

loved the quotes this morn @hippy thanks

iv an emotional day ahead with funeral - we are celebrating a life so a positivity smile for me of a morn always sets me up well

i like this one too - sums up this thread quite well i'd say

NannyGR · 17/02/2017 07:51

Hi ladies please may I join you??
I need a bit of positivity before I drive myself mad!!

Age 25
Ttc #1
Cycle 2 since mc in October.
Cd 22
Bfp due 22nd/23rd

Bit of background....
Me and my husband been together 7years, married 2 and half, ttc 4 and half years!! Sad
Was diagnosed with unexplained infertility last August and then a week later fell pregnant! Think my body just relaxed and it happened. Unfortunatly I miscarried at 11weeks and it was a very long dragged out time, took 11 weeks to finish bleeding and finally back to normal now. Cycles are back and I'm ovulating so fx for this month.
Been hit with 2 baby bombs recently rather close to home so I'm hoping this month will be our month!

Good luck to all you ladies trying!! Sending lots of positivity to you!! Flowers

BellaMoon · 17/02/2017 08:07

hi @nanny so sorry to hear of your mc Flowers it's nice to hear your excited to TTC Smile

we are closeby BFPs buddies - us and @magpie Smile

i don't remember how many of us there are in this thread but if we work on the law of averages (yeah cos mother nature does too NOT) then surely we should get 1-2 BFPs each month?? i have my fx for us all xx

sarahboro1 · 17/02/2017 08:35

Welcome nanny!! 😊 Fx this is your month. Xx

Bella I am so bad with it!!! Hubby wants to go away with his friends this September but I found myself thinking well how selfish, I could be waddling around about to give birth then!!! 😂

Thanks for the extract hippy!! That means I'm only on cycle 7!!! Xx

sarahboro1 · 17/02/2017 08:39

Just seen this and thought of you lovely ladies. Happy Friday!! Xx

Supper16 · 17/02/2017 08:52

Can I get an 'awwwwww' for my lovely DH?
He's spotted my folic acid on the bedside table, and without me mentioning anything else about supplements, has gone and got himself some wellman conception tablets. Makes me happy for what I have here and now, and helps with my PMA Smile

sarahboro1 · 17/02/2017 08:53

Awwwww bless him!!!

Roseandbee · 17/02/2017 09:23

Morning everyone! Af arrived right on time this morning and now i'm feeling super positive starting my new cycle (I already got feeling miserable out the way whilst waiting). I've calculated my due date, bfp due 24 Nov, so looks like i could be spending my birthday in Labour, but at least ill get a decent present.Grin
Hippy i've already knocked 30 cycles off so i think i'm covered lol, great extract though.
Ive got my fertility appoint on the 21st so that'll be interesting not really sure what to expect.
Welcome Newbies!
Im feeling super positive about loads of bfps as we a well into nesting season now and it all comes down to the birds and the bees in the end. GL everyone! x

MissMagpie · 17/02/2017 09:30

Good PMA Rose! Those BFPs are on their way for sure.

So sorry to hear about your ordeal Nanny. You are in the right place for getting your BFP soon - we are all in the same boat and supporting each other along.

That excerpt is very interesting Hippy. I am thinking I probably should have improved my diet a bit over previous months to give me a better chance of conceiving... definitely need to up my veg intake and give my body more of what it needs.

Hippychic79 · 17/02/2017 09:43

The book is called The Baby Making Bible by Emma Cannon and I would wholeheartedly recommend it. It amalgamates the science and holistic approach to TTC perfectly in my humble opinion and it offers specific advice based on the type of person you are and the potential issues that you may have. For example, I am a cold person (always got cold hands and feet), prior to reading this book I was –quite happily—eating salad for lunch every day, however it recommended that I steer clear of raw foods and opt instead for warming soups. The Taking Charge of your Fertility book by Toni Weschler is fantastic on the science front as it goes into great detail about how to chart (too complicated for me) and the art of babymaking by Gerad Kite is amazing from a holistic approach point of view which is more up my street.

Excentric Any sign of a BFP yet? You’re DH is welcome to comment on our thread if he so wishes, it’s a shame they don’t have a dads.net. I wish my OH was in the thick of it, he doesn’t want to try properly until we’ve been on holiday. Last year we went to Barbados and it was amazing, so much so, he wants to go again… but I’m desperately trying to clear down my credit card so can’t afford to go on another major holiday. So I’ve convinced him to go to Cyprus instead and have convinced OH to put the Caribbean off till later in the year. He has said that after the Caribbean we can try for a baby, but I’m 38, he’s going to be 42 in June. He also thinks that as we’ve only been together just over a year, we should take things slowly (ish). Whilst I can see his point I also think he’s being a bit selfish. I would love to talk to him about it but I’m just too scared.

Phase You are doing absolutely nothing wrong hun. From all the books I’ve read, it does state that we’ve only got a 30% chance each cycle of success even if we do catch at the right time. It’s completely understandable that your PMA took a hit when the stupid witch arrived, everyone’s does… even mine and I’m the one who bangs on about PMA the most! Be kind to yourself and see it as another cycle to prepare your body and get healthy for this imminent pregnancy of yours and another month with these lovely ladies.

Magpie Thank you for the real life reassurance that it took 12 months to conceive your DS, my sister in law took 18 months ladies and she has two beautiful DS’s.

Anna Great PMA. Sorry to hear the jacuzzi wasn’t working. Not long now till Florence …. Yaaaaay  I hate waiting for FW too, you’re not alone hun! CD7 sucks roll on the big O next week 

Salam So relieved to hear that I’m not the only one who takes pics of their positive OPK’s 

Bella One week till your anticipated BFP …. I’m excited for you  Bless your DH for symptom spotting for you – that’s hilarious, like we need help with this . I’m constantly daydreaming about how I’d tell people when I get upduffed, not sure I’d make the 12 week mark especially in light of how long I’ve been TTC!

Reference all the holiday talk – I’m glad I’m not alone in postponing holidays. DP is desperate to book our flights to Cyprus for June and I keep putting him off telling him we’ll save money if we go last minute. I also haven’t reminded him that his passport is out of date and that he’ll need a new one, of course he hasn’t noticed this himself, so that should buy me another couple of weeks 

Baking Glad to hear your DH is better, good news 

Owl Welcome to thread PMA. Sorry to hear about your MC. This is definitely the place to be for positivity, individually we all have our bad days, but collectively we gee each on and help each other to stay positive. Drop on in as often as you like 

Archies Welcome back hun, was wondering where you’d got to. Bloody baby bombs, I feel your pain. It’s so hard to say congratulations when you’re really thinking – it’s my bloody turn!

Sarahb Hey Sarah, I’m exactly the same about planning everything these days not just holidays, DP likes going to gigs and wanted to go see Stone Roses can’t remember where now and I was thinking ‘no I can’t cope with the crowds I’ll be X months pg by then’.

I bet if we all book ourselves holidays, we’ll all get upduffed.

NannyG Welcome. Sorry to hear about your mc. The doctors clearly got their diagnosis wrong. You’re clearly ovulating which is a great start, I think you’ll be fine. PMA – you’re 25 years old…. I’m 38, I would do anything to be 25 again 

Bella Great PMA reference the law of averages calculation and good luck with the funeral today

Sarahb Thank you for the PMA quote and yes you’re only on cycle 7…. Although I’ve been given this some thought this morning – does it really matter how many facking cycles we’ve been through? I’m wondering whether we scrub stating this when we plug in our stats again on a new thread.

Rose The Gold Star PMA award for today goes to you my friend…. PMA on the day of AF is absolutely inspirational, you’re amazing…. I don’t mean this to sound harsh to anyone else on cycle 1 or 2 of TTC as I would love to see everyone get their BFPs sooner rather than later…. But for ladies like yourself Rose and Sarahb… I will be extra over the moon and back to see your BFPs ….

Magpie The Baby Making Bible book is excellent for diet tips. I will post some more information as and when it seems appropriate but it is difficult because we’re all different so I only really want to post the generic stuff, but I would definitely recommend this book and no I’m not on commission.

Right ladies … I think we’re almost at the end of our first thread so I will create PMA thread #2 shortly….

xxx
