Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

Good luck tuxie and fingers crossed for you. I believe I am only 1DPO. Ovia thinks AF is due 5 March. Other apps think 3 March. Either way, it's going to be an agonisingly slow wait. I think I will do what I did last time and not test until AF is actually late. This worked a dream last time, because AF came bang on time and I didn't waste any money on pregnancy tests nor feel like total crap staring down at a BFN!

mrsj I'm exactly the same during the 2ww even though I know it's completely irrational.

Good luck tuxie fx for you!

tuxie11 · 19/02/2017 13:01

Thank you ladies 🤞🏻 For a fast and (re)productive 2WW for us all.

Hope your Sundays are lovely and chilled too.

Found these today. A helpful read!

I have been having twinges down below. I know it's anxiety, and impossible to be anything remotely linked to pregnancy, but when you want something...

Hey girlies and welcome Charl 😊
So I ended up going over a friend's house last night and drunk gallons of prosecco then slept over lol 🙈
According to Clue and my symptoms, I ovulated Thursday anyway. But according to Ovia my fw runs til Tuesday so will dtd tonight anyway coz I slept out last night and I'm sleeping in a hotel tomorrow night with my sis (going to see kings of leon! So excited!) so when I get home, it will be on to the 2ww for me.
Af due 2nd March (on both apps weirdly, even though my fw is different on them both... how is that?)
I'm not feeling hopeful AT ALL this cycle so I'm not gonna be symptom spotting. Not even remotely feeling it this month, absolutely have not dtd anywhere near enough, or on the right days. Plus got a hair appointment and a hen party to keep me occupied.
Then next month, I won't be ttc. Well, I will be dtd when I feel like it, but I won't be using opk or timing anything, I think my mind needs a rest, I'm feeling a bit down about it all! Plus I don't want to conceive in march coz I don't want a Christmas baby haha. So I will be lurking around and looking out for your bfps!! But just won't be actively doing stuff myself xx

MistyBxx · 19/02/2017 14:53

That's a fab article by the way mrsjkerry! I will be casually checking in on that!
About the 2ww wait though... when does it officially start?
Do you count back 14 days from your expected period?
Or do you count forward 14 days from 1dpo?
And is it even exactly 14 days? Or is that just approximate and variable depending on everyone's luteal stage?x

mrsjkerry · 19/02/2017 15:05

I count the 2WW as the days in between the last day of my FW and the day AF is due.

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 19/02/2017 15:13

Ok so for my, the 2ww will either have started Friday and last 13 days or will start Wednesday and last 8 days 😂
Bloody apps lol

MistyBxx · 19/02/2017 15:53

Just done another opk and it was as pale as it could be! The palest I've seen, i don't think it could even be called a squinter! 🙈
I'm feeling very meh about opks this month. I had a definite positive opk last month, both lines were sharp and vibrant but this month, testing every day from cd9 til today, the most I've had is a couple of squinter around last Thursday when I thought I ovulated, but even the guide line hasn't been dark like it was last month. I'm wondering if I've had a rogue batch. I don't bulk buy, I buy packs of 5 from Poundland lol and have done 10 tests which is 2 separate packs, would be a bit weird if they were both dodgy packs wouldn't it?
Oh I don't know. I just hope I have actually ovulated, even if I've missed it or haven't dtd enough, would be scared to think I hadn't ovulated at all! I'm hoping to believe my body more than the tests though and I defo had ewcm last week and very low tum pains on Thursday so I'm hoping that was it regardless of all the negatives 😐

tuxie11 · 19/02/2017 17:01

Misty - enjoy your hair appt & gig, I think taking your mind off it really helps! This is my first 2WW and I've been SS like a mad man but it's not been too bad. It is my first one tho, so probably speaks volumes.

I would be inclined to ditch the OPKs and just go with your body. Maybe check in with the app once or twice to figure a guideline, but don't rely on them. I'm sure you have ovulated - if you had EWCM and some pains I think it's a good sign. Have some fun with DTD and you never know! I mean, people get PG off one night stands (which now I just can't comprehend HOW!) so I'm sure it's just a matter of consistency and timing. I have my FX for you x

ttcnovice · 19/02/2017 18:19

Kings of Leon misty Shock very jealous! Enjoy!

Yes, 2ww is the time in between ovulation and AF (so the same as your luteal phase). But because everyone's LP differs then so will the actual length of your 2ww. Although it should be the same for you individually cycle to cycle. Hope that makes sense!

I had another "high" reading on my OPK this morning. A bit strange as I only had two last month before getting the peak, whereas this morning's is the third day of "high" this time. Haven't DTD yet today as we've been out from early, but will definitely be finding time later on. Going to do it early tonight as DH almost couldn't be bothered last night as it was quite late when we got to bed Shock I say almost because he mustered up the energy in the end, but he did make a song and dance about it first Hmm he's a bit of a drama queen sometimes my DH Grin.

tuxie11 · 19/02/2017 19:42

TTC I think they like the fuss really, makes them feel important! 😂😉

ttcnovice · 19/02/2017 20:06

Definitely tuxie he was milking it for all it was worth! I actually asked him did he want a medal afterwards, he said I can get him one when we get our BFP, which sounds fair enough to me! Grin

tuxie11 · 19/02/2017 20:11

Hahaha Grin I feel it's only fair he gets you a bigger medal once you've pushed a small human out though 😜

ttcnovice · 19/02/2017 20:21

Oh yes definitely! Although instead of a medal I wouldn't say no to a new handbag or two WinkGrin.

charl19 · 19/02/2017 21:06

Thanks for making me feel so welcome girls ☺️

I feel like I might be on the same sort of cycle as you guys.. my period started on 2nd Feb, and worked out as this week just gone to be my FW so this will be my 2ww the same as you guys. Just trying to go with the flow (excuse the irony!) rather than getting too funny on dates.. or at least try and work my dates out! It really does get confusing!!

Misty I'm the same about not wanting a Christmas baby 😂

mrsjkerry · 19/02/2017 21:13

** I've told my husband he needs to get me a diamond ring for every child we have 😍 apparently that's a tradition! Just need to get pregnant first...

Charl my AF started on the 3 February so we are indeed at very similar stages!

Cramps all day today. But think that's more to do with the amounts of chocolate I've eaten in my 2WW sulk 😄

tuxie11 · 19/02/2017 21:44

TTC I like your thinking! My dream bag is a celine, however I don't think my DH would ever spend over a grand, let alone me forgiving him for spending a grand so he can't win really 😂

Mrsj yes! I do believe you are entitled to an eternity ring after your first- FX you'll have a new diamond by the end of the year 😉

Charl best plan I think to just go with the flow. good luck!!

Twistedsister7 · 19/02/2017 22:15

Loved catching up. I keep telling DH he needs to buy me a push present like my dream Mulbery handbag or a big diamond. He asked what he got out of it!! Cheek.

I am also in 2ww with AF due 1st March. I seem to have a short LP which concerns me. Seems a lot of us in 2ww now so maybe our collective positive thoughts will get at least one of us knocked up right??

I have a girls weekend away this Friday which will involve wine, cheese & a hot tub. Do I indulge as planned & forget being PG? Part of me wants to test Friday morning but that would be fairly early. What do you guys think??

ttcnovice · 19/02/2017 22:26

I will be in a similar dilemma next weekend Twisted catch up with my three best friends at the new gin bar in town Angry. Will be right in the 2ww by then! Not sure how to get out of drinking but I really don't want to have any at all.

How many DPO will you be by then twisted?

Twistedsister7 · 19/02/2017 23:01

Only 6dpo BlushBlush

My one friend knows we are ttc but I'm not so close to other girls. DH said have fun but don't go overboard. So I can do the dragging a glass of wine out for hours if needs be! It's a relaxing break rather than a party holiday but a fair amount of wine was consumed last year!!

Twistedsister7 · 19/02/2017 23:02

How many dpo will you be??

It's so hard to decide what to do....

ttcnovice · 19/02/2017 23:49

That's probably the best strategy twisted - it's so hard when you don't want to discuss TTC and these things come up, but I suppose we can't just put our lives on hold in the meantime can we! Hope you enjoy the weekend either way and it helps to keep you occupied while you wait for a BFP!

I'm not sure how many DPO I'll be by then - only had "high" readings on the CB OPKs so far so haven't ovulated yet. If I get a peak tomorrow I'd only be 6DPO at the most though, so it would definitely be too early to test!

MistyBxx · 20/02/2017 00:01

Oh it's a hard one girls isn't it... I've got a big messy hen party next weekend but I honestly don't feel remotely hopeful this month, and I'm not just saying that, I honestly don't, so I'm not missing it 🙈 I'm a lightweight these days anyway, can't drink as much as I used to in my younger days lol.
Hope you've all had a good weekend :)

tuxie11 · 20/02/2017 09:34

Happy Monday ladies! I'm pretty much bricking it as this week is test week 🙈

twisted I agree with your DH, have one or two and have a giggle but don't end up paraletic, I imagine chilling out will only aid the process Smile

Missy go for it! You never know, and I can imagine people who are v unaware of being PG have done much worse and gone on to have healthy pregnancies. Grin
