Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

Ooooh I've missed a lot!!

Congrats claire, fx it's a sticky ones.

I myself am in fw. Got ewcm today but barely a line on opk. Usual ovulation is cd16 & that's tomorrow. Tad confused.

How is everyone else? I'm really hoping someone gets a BFP this week. I think MrsJ gets the award for most deserved for sure xx

mrsjkerry · 17/02/2017 23:01

Two weeks and I will find out twisted !

DTD twice today again. Stomach cramps now. Not sure if it's ovulation or the amount of sex we've had!

Hey twisted I'm cd16 today, I've had negative opks all through! I THINK I ovulated yesterday as had ewcm all week (except yesterday, weirdly!) and had very low pains yesterday. but didn't dtd til this morning so not feeling too hopeful again this month 😩

Mrsjkerry defo has the award for most "activity" so far! The pains could be ov OR a bit of bruising haha. Either way, I'm sure it's a packed party up there so hopefully the egg will find her special friend!!🙌🏼

mrsjkerry · 18/02/2017 08:56

But misty wouldn't the dried up ewcm indicate you have ovulated? It makes sense that you ovulated around Thursday because don't you produce ewcm in the lead up and then it dries up after you have ovulated?

OP posts:
Twistedsister7 · 18/02/2017 10:11

I thought that was what ewcm means too but no hint of a positive opk for me either.

Also I have no more OPKs ConfusedConfused

We tried to dtd this morning & I mentioned to DH last night that it was apparently the best time. Think he got a little anxious & this morning it just wouldn't happen. It is not his fault at all but I feel so disappointed.

Maybe try again later xx

Marie90 · 18/02/2017 10:16

I'm a bit down today if I'm honest 😔 both clue and ovia said i ovulated and I was at peek fertility yesterday but unable to DTD as the oh has been feeling really Ill the last few days. I know he can't help it but the timing is just so bad. I was hoping to DTD a few times over the last few days, but the last time was Wednesday (2 days before I ovulated). I know that the swimmers can last a few days but I feel like I'm pushing my luck tbh. From tomorrow I'll be on the tww but I bet you any money he'll be feeling better by then and want to DTD loads.
I know it's not his fault, but I can't help but feel frustrated!!

MistyBxx · 18/02/2017 10:29

Marie I totally get that, hubs has been particularly grumpy and stressed about work this week and dtd has been a struggle, he even (I think!) faked it Valentine's night lol he reckoned he finished but if he did, the swimmers must have been invisible or came out in thin air coz there was no evidence evacuating me afterwards 😂 it's so frustrating coz i will be in the 2ww from Tuesday and he will probably be gagging for it then 😂

Yeah I did think that about ewcm girls but I only didn't notice it for that one day Thursday. I swear I had some yesterday and although I haven't checked today, i can feel a little bit of moisture down below as I'm walking about. So I'm unsure as to whether I've already ovulated (which Clue and my own tummy pains suggested happened on Thursday) or if it's still on its way (which Ovia and my negative opks suggest)
So confused 🙈

mrsjkerry · 18/02/2017 10:34

Marie if you DTD today you're not necessarily out!?

OP posts:
Twistedsister7 · 18/02/2017 11:14

Mumsnet pact - dtd today & fx.

Twistedsister7 · 18/02/2017 11:40

Ha, just as I sent that I got pounced on. DH felt he had a point to prove.

Marie & Misty pounce today because you never know & a positive opk I believe could still give you a 12-48 hour window in which you actually ovulate.

mrsjkerry · 18/02/2017 13:28

So I guess ovulation has occurred and I have officially done all I can - am in the 2WW 😬

Oooooh mrsjkerry I can't wait for you already!!! It's gonna be a long 2ww!
I'm defo gonna try and dtd again today just to be on the safe side but I already feel like I've defo not done enough this month 🙈

mrsjkerry · 18/02/2017 15:33

I know. I am currently sitting here very aware that my egg is either fertilised or dead at this point! I could be pregnant already...or not. So annoying that you have to wait ages to actually find out!

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 18/02/2017 16:01

It's so nerve racking isn't it 🙈 well I've just opk tested again now, still negative! So that's negative every day for 10 days! The first 2 days were snowy white, the last 8 have been 2 lines but literally a squinter in the LH line! Never got any darker or gone away back to snowy white again! I'm going to keep testing every day for the rest of this cycle just in case.
But I'm still fairly sure (if you can even be fairly sure of anything when ttc!) that I ovulated Thursday... but if that was the case, why did the ewcm stop just for that one day and then carry on Friday and today? Not loads by any means, possibly less than Monday-Wednesday but still noticeable.
Heads gone lol 😂

mrsjkerry · 18/02/2017 16:15

Just DTD and hope for the best!! LH surges are really sudden and can be gone in like 15 minutes for some women, from what I've read anyway. Perhaps you just missed yours on the OPKs?

ttcnovice · 18/02/2017 16:20

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good weekend!

I got another "high" reading this morning so if I follow the same pattern as last month I should get my peak tomorrow - fingers crossed. DTD twice yesterday and twice the day before - only once today so far so will hope to add to that tonight!

How long does everyone generally continue to DTD after ovulation? The past few cycles I've stopped the day after through an irrational fear of things being prevented if I move about to vigorously Blush but maybe I should carry on for a few more days, just in case?

ttcnovice · 18/02/2017 16:21

Too Blush can't even blame the fat fingers this time Misty* Grin

mrsjkerry · 18/02/2017 16:44

Well there's only a 12-24 shelf life for the egg after ovulation, so I'd say a day or two. That's why ideally you need to have sperm waiting already at the moment of ovulation!

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining!! Very new to this Mumsnet just joined today and stumbled on this☺️

I've spent the evening reading this feed it's been really insightful! Nice to read about people in the same boat too! I'm 25, came off the pill at end of January as had none left. Married in October so me and DH have sort of decided to "loosely" TTC #1 but I can see myself getting sucked in already😂😂

Bear with as just getting to grips with all the abbreviations as well! What is the significance of CM and it's different stages?

Feel like I've been following your stories so Fx to all of you🤞🏼

Twistedsister7 · 18/02/2017 23:18

Welcome charl. I'm still learning about cm myself but I know the fertile type has the appearance of egg whites, beyond that I'm a bit lost. You get the egg white stuff right before you ovulate & its best time to conceive.

Everyone here is lovely, best thread on MN in my opinion.

mrsjkerry · 18/02/2017 23:19

Welcome charl!

When the CM becomes clear and stretchy it means it's thinner which makes the sperm's journey a lot easier! Hence paying attention to it let's you know when you're likely to ovulate and when you're most fertile! I never really notice mine tbh though...

OP posts:
ttcnovice · 19/02/2017 00:17

Thanks mrsj I'll just keep on doing what I have been then, as you said it's more important to get the little swimmers up there waiting!

Hi charl welcome to the thread - aka the best thread on MN Grin

Marie90 · 19/02/2017 08:37

Morning ladies and welcome Charl ! you've come to the right place! I'm completely new to the whole TTC thing this month too and everyone has been really helpful!

Unfortunately we still couldn't DTD yesterday (oh was completely out of bounds with his cold/flu). I'm hoping I ovulated slightly earlier than expected, or that his swimmers lasted a few days. Not overly convinced but I have my Fx!!

He comes the tww! I think we're all going to have to keep each other sane!! 🙈

mrsjkerry · 19/02/2017 09:48

I don't know if I am becoming too obsessed with this, but I'm paranoid anything I do will stop a potentially fertilised egg from implanting! I want someone to bubble wrap me and I'll just stay very still for the next two weeks.

Should I still do my morning runs? Is sex still OK!? Aaaah

OP posts:
tuxie11 · 19/02/2017 09:56

mrsj I believe you can do anything as normal during 2WW as it's out of control really! I've had a decrease appetite so not been drinking caffeine (as I don't fancy it) but still beenhutting the gym. I've just chosen lighter weights and stopped more often and drank more to keep my temperature from rising. I kinda just copied what they advice for pregnancy to be safe. It definitely helps keep your mind a little sane!

Hope all are doing well and welcome charl! I'm 11DPO and have the greaaasiestt hair and skin which is far from my usual dehydrated/dry. I won't be testing til next thurs unless AF comes 🤞🏻
