Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

Ohhhh and to make things worse, I think I'm ovulating today 😩 I'm cd15 and although the ewcm has stopped, today I'm getting distinct discomfort very very low down in my tum, not even my tum really, in the area above my foof and way below my belly button. My opk last night was negative (2 lines were there but 1 was much paler than the other, a definite squinter!) and now I'm gutted because IF I'm ovulating today, had we dtd last night, there would be lovely fresh swimmers there waiting to jump all over the egg as it pops out. But we didn't so there's not.
Have I missed the bus?
If I was to dtd tonight, would I still be in with a chance? I'm feeling really miserable now. And what if he's not up for it again tonight? I mean, I kind of pushed him into it the other night and it was hard work lol and then at the end, it didn't "finish" properly if you know what I mean... there was no sign of anything up there, despite his protestations 😂 so the last time we dtd 'productively' was Sunday, well, Saturday night. I have a feeling any swimmers deposited then will be long gone by now.
Bloody hell 😡

Marie90 · 16/02/2017 10:35

Oh MistyBxx it's horrible when they say no. It sounds like he's going through a really tough time atm, and stress isnt going to help him feel in the mood to DTD. Have you thought about asking him for a date evening under the idea of letting him have an evening with no stress? Maybe suggest a meal out or movie, or cook him a romantic meal... He may feel more in the mood if he's had his mind taken off work? You can then pounce 😉

It's so frustrating that there's only a small window where DTD could end up in a BFP..... Maybe we should all book a week off during our FW and just stay in bed all week!!

I hope you have a better evening with him tonight! X

MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 10:49

Thank you chick. I did make him a yummy dinner last night but he went into a bit of a food coma after it lol and I thought then oh maybe that wasn't such a good idea 😂
I defo think he needs to get his head out of the stress though, it will be ok after next month once he's in his new job and in a routine and everything, and the money is double what he's on now so I know he will be in a better place mentally, I just really wanted this to be our month because we are having a break in March anyway (not from dtd at all lol just from testing, charting etc coz I don't want a Christmas baby haha) so I just wanted to go for it this month and then have a break next month (if bfn) but know that we had tried our best in Feb. But I don't feel like we've tried our best and now it feels like my little egg is having an unobstructed journey to its demise with no lil tadpoles to stop it 😩
Pfffff I'm driving myself mad lol x

tuxie11 · 16/02/2017 10:59

Oh misty hugs. it's hard isn't it? I honestly had no reason to think TTC was involved as it is, you spend most of your adult life avoiding getting PG! Have you tried being a bit more spontaneous? Fresh out the shower or watching TV, something so it doesn't feel so forced? Perhaps build him up with some flirty texts too. You got this girl! You should be good if you can DTD tonight I imagine x

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 12:59

Hi all
I'd say this was ovulation day according to the increasing strength of the line. What do you think?

Definitely positive today mrsj

Marie90 · 16/02/2017 13:34

You never know MistyBxx, tonight could be the night! Don't get downhearted by the could be/would be.. you'll only end up stressing yourself out! Fx for you tonight (is that weird 😂)

And mrsjkerry I haven't done any OPKs myself to knoe much about it but I'd say that's a V.strong line!! Go for it!

Can I ask about everyones situation? How did you guys meet your OH? How long have you guys been together? How long have you been TTC? (Sorry the original thread is wayyy too long to go back through)!

I met my OH at uni in 2010, got together in 2011 so coming up to 6 years now. We live together and got engaged at Christmas. This is our C1... Start the year as we mean to go on!! Smile

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 14:09

We have DTD twice a day everyday this week. Am now wondering whether we might have been better off just once a day to increase sperm count...but oh well! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

🤞🏻 Mrsj

marie I met my DH in 2010, and we got engaged in 2015 and married late last year. We originally planned for by the end of the year but excitement got hold of us and we decided to just go for it! I spent most of the time worrying it would take me forever and a day to get back to normal after getting off the pill in Dec Smile

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 15:20

Marie - actually met my husband through online. My dad started dating a few years after my mum died and said we should do it together so we both signed up! We got together July 2013, and have been TTC since our wedding in August. However I only got my periods back in October/November after some weight loss!

ttcnovice · 16/02/2017 15:45

Marie DH and I have been together for 10 years (since I was 14 and he was 15). We met in school - he was in the year above and all the girls in my year fancied him so I thought I was very cool Grin. Got engaged on NYE 2014 and got married last September.

Started TTC in November. We were originally going to wait until January, just because a summer DC wouldn't have been ideal work wise, but we were both so broody after so long together that we thought what's the point in waiting! Glad we didn't wait now as it obviously hasn't happened as quickly as we were expecting.

MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 16:49

Loving everyone's stories 😍
Me and hubs got together in 2004, split in 2011, found eachother again in 2013, got engaged that Christmas and married September 2016!
I came off the pill just before my wedding, just had sex and thought that was enough but by my November af, I thought hmmm maybe there's more to it than unprotected sex...😂 did a bit of research, bought some opk strips and downloaded a couple of apps...
Found Mumsnet in Feb and opened up the world of obsession, random letters/abbreviations and sharing stuff with strangers id cringe at telling my best friends 😂🙈

tuxie11 · 16/02/2017 17:27

Hahaha funny how it works. I'm the same, I really stupidly assumed it was a little bit of unprotected sex, miss a period and bam. Oh how wrong was I?!

Love so many September weddings too - we had one as well!

Marie90 · 16/02/2017 17:31

These how you met your oh's are so great!! I had no idea mn would be so friendly... I was worried that when I joined there would be lots of people looking down on me as I had/have no idea about the lingo, or FWs, or OPKs!!
😁

Marie90 · 16/02/2017 17:32

P.s. I may have to steal wedding ideas!! Getting a BFP is our priority at the mo but that doesn't stop me from nosing about our future wedding! 😍

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 17:33

As you can see from the picture. It's taken me four months to realise that unprotected sex a handful of times in FW will not lead to a BFP!

mrsjkerry it's all so complicated! How on earth do people get pregnant by accident "because the condom broke" ?!? Confused

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 18:33

I guess it's just a matter of exact timing and massive coincidence. Plus maybe the strength of your partner's sperm and how viable your own eggs are! SO complicated. My friend missed her pill one weekend and bam. She's pregnant. Her mum also went off the pill and immediately got pregnant with her. Then there's us lot who time everything and have been off for months...🙄

I don't get pregnant this month I swear I will tear my hair out. I am so so loaded up with sperm there's no way they can miss the egg this time!!! 😄😄😄

MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 19:15

Mrsjkerry I will personally be proper gutted for you if you're not, you have worked your arse off, literally 😂
September weddings are amazing. I'm actually a wedding blogger. I've got a website but it's not "live" yet but when it is, I will post the link! Been working on it since Christmas but I've got a full time job, my own part time business AND ttc so my head hasn't been in it for a while lol.
I thought that about MN too but it's so not, we are all in the same boat ☺️ although we are all wishing we were pushing eachother off to the next board lol (I'm totally going to do that by the way, on here there are pregnancy boards too so I hope we see eachother again as the bfps come in!)

Just done another opk, barely even a squinter again 😩 yet today is ov day according to Clue and I've been having low down pains all day. Sooo I'm in a predicament... I'm on cd15 and opk every day since cd9, started off snowy white, last 2 days and today have been 2 lines but literally squinters. To me, that says negative. But I've had ewcm 3 days this week and today's pain. Do I believe the sticks? Or believe my body?
My body lies to me in the 2ww lol could it be lying now? I had a defo dark bright positive last cycle so I know what the lines should look like 😐 could I have rogue test batch?
And then there's Ovia which doesn't even reckon I'm 10/10 chance to catch til Sunday!
I'm so confused 😩

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 19:18

Misty I would be wary of the apps and just DTD as much as you possibly can. I'm sure in the past the apps have been wrong and I've ended up ovulating in a week which was not marked as fertile and hence missed my opportunity.

OP posts:
tuxie11 · 16/02/2017 19:22

Mrsj I'm hoping it's your month, you've earned it!

Misty I wish I had an answer! The apps only work on an algorithm with what should happen, so with your data it's likely it could be correct to a certain degree (says her that's only used an app) but I would go off how your body feels too. I felt some low pains during O day and noticed my CM was slightly runnier - said that until literally last week I never had an idea what different CM was about! CM turned more lotion like the days following so that seemed to be somewhat correct with what my apps said 😕

Could you DTD every two days or somewhat? That should give the swimmers a chance if you have EWCM?

I loved my Sept wedding - can't wait to see your blog! The weather was just wonderful, and didn't have to worry about the stickiness of July/Aug (if it was ever hot!) let alone the mental prices! 😳

mrsjkerry · 16/02/2017 19:41

I am a teacher. We could only get married and have honeymoon in the summer holidays. But it was right at the end of August and actually the weather was perfect!

OP posts:
MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 19:50

I had perfect weather too! I chose sept coz the last 3 years, it's rained constantly in June, July and August. I live in wales so it rains pretty much all the time anyway lol but more so in the summer for some pissy reason 😡 sept is usually always sunny and warm and it didn't disappoint! I do love blogging, I get a bit carried away on my posts on here sometimes though and I'm like calm down, you're not blogging now lol.
I'm not overly confident with the apps, Clue has been spot on for me though since I started tracking in Nov. I've just checked my ovia settings and it says I've input a cycle length of 10 days!!!😲😲😲 I haven't! I've changed it to 30 (this is average though, I'm usually 28-31) and it changes my fw then when I go back into it, it's reset to 10 days again! Wtf?
Technology like, gimme a break, I'm struggling enough with biology 😂😂

TTC - First time!
MistyBxx · 16/02/2017 19:50

And I don't have a 1-day period either!!😡

88claire · 16/02/2017 19:53

Thank you so much everyone for your congratulations!

I've confirmed with a digital now, I won't go to the GP for another couple of weeks and not cancelling my Mexico holiday yet... Just in case.

We have both taken a week off work in may to go to visit my dad who lives in Turkey which will be nice. We both need a bit of sun!

How is everyone doing? Waiting with baited breath for some BFPS! Maybe a couple of weeks post valentines day?!?!
