Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

Thanks ttc

I've thrown all but the first one I did. I've decided to do the cheapies from now on as although they give a positive result later than FRER or clearblue after losing the first pregnancy early it doesn't seem such a bad thing. Plus saving cash is always useful. I have one digital left which I'll use to confirm a cheapie when the time hopefully comes Smile

We luckily didn't cancel our Mexico holiday (zika virus) in June so the way I'm seeing it I would rather have a healthy pregnancy but if not we have an amazing holiday to look forward to.

How are you doing anyway? We are on a similar CD do be nice to see how someone else does at a similar time to me!

mrsjkerry · 21/01/2017 15:12

I'm really hoping this is my month as it is cycle 5 and fed up with it all. Two week wait will be horrible. We are also moving into our new house next week which is exciting...I've got plans for a nursery 🙄😄

Hi, I'd like to join please.

26, TTC no 1, married in Sept.
Came off the pill beginning of the month after not being very good at remembering it over Xmas, knowing we were going to TTC in Feb/March so just started early!
Previous ectopic June 2014 when not trying.
Trying not to get obsessed but have just ordered some OPK's as realised I have no idea when I ovulated this month if at all, and have never had any clue about my cycle before the pill. Using Ovia.

ttcnovice · 21/01/2017 20:29

Claire let's hope you'll be using your digital sooner rather than later then! Really jealous of your Mexico holiday, will you be able to re-book it if you get a BFP beforehand? We were supposed to be having a belated honeymoon this year (we just had a mini-moon after our wedding in September) but everywhere we would choose has zika, so we're stuck on where to book!

I'm just plodding along waiting to get a "high" reading on the CB OPKs, and then hopefully a "peak" afterwards. Work-wise conceiving in this cycle would be perfect timing for us, so hoping cycle #3 is a lucky one!

mrsj I can totally relate to that. We bought our house about a year ago now, but I still haven't decorated the bedroom we had earmarked as an office yet, just keep hoping it can become a nursery instead!

Welcome and good luck Annie Smile

mrsjkerry · 21/01/2017 20:33

Hi Annie. I use Ovia too. The key is to input as much data as possible and it'll give you cycle length averages etc. I worried about ovulation because I lost my period last year for 7 months, so the OPKs will give you some idea of when your peak chances are!

TTC- our spare room will be used for my sister to stay in, or my partner's son from a previous relationship. But I can't wait to be pregnant so I can make it into a gorgeous little room!! Getting ahead of myself 😔

TTC

Yes I called First Choice who dont recommend travelling when pregnant to zika areas and will chance the destination with proof of pregnancy. We were looking at Italy or Greece instead... A bit closer to home Smile

I really hope this is your cycle. It was the best feeling seeing those two lines on the test!

MrsJ

I really hope you get a positive soon. It must be frustrating after 5 months... Have you had bloods done or anything just to see if there's something really simple such as thyroid affecting you? I'm sure there isn't but might help put your mind at rest

mrsjkerry · 21/01/2017 21:16

No I haven't had any tests or anything like that. I lost my periods because I was training hard for the wedding and lost a bit of weight and did too much exercise. They're back now and it's positive to see the OPKs working...I will give it another few months and if still nothing has changed I will have to go and talk to someone.

There are some factors to consider. Such as the fact that my husband is actually in his 40s (I wonder if that makes a difference to fertility?) and also...I hate the feeling after sex and can only about manage 20 minutes before I have to go to the toilet. I should probably let it sit a little longer!!

Hi everyone. Sorry I've been off for a while but I took this last failure quite hard. No idea why & I now feel ridiculous but that's our hormones I guess.

I am now in fw of cycle 3 but unlike last time I don't feel we have really tried this month. I've been really stressed about other things which has not helped.

I mostly stayed away from OPKs this month but being two days away from when I usually ovulate I did one yesterday. Clearly negative which surprised me. How close to actual ovulation do you start seeing lines because I'm sure the last two I started to see a line but now.....

Claire88 I'm so sorry for your loss. FlowersFlowers

88claire · 22/01/2017 11:44

Thanks for the wishes everyone.

I'm starting to think I had a dodgy batch of OPKs. Did one from a new lot which had a line but definitely fainter than any of the ones I've been having lately.

Hopefully this will give me an accurate indication of when it will actually happen! I've never been so happy to see a faint OPK line!

Back to work tomorrow.. Dreading everyone being lovely as that's what makes me cry....

mrsjkerry · 22/01/2017 12:43

Claire - remind yourself they mean well and if you act like yourself, they will take their cue from you. Did you have to go to hospital if you don't mind me asking?

OP posts:
88claire · 22/01/2017 13:04

Mrsjkerry

I didn't mean to sound horrible there... Theyre a lovely bunch of people. I did ask someone to let everyone know what happened so I don't have to tell everyone individually. They will definitely look after me tomorrow and I think it's good to go back.

I went to hospital early pregnancy unit as I had the bleeding the day before the miscarriage and had bloods and a scan but they said it was too early to see anything. I didn't go for my follow up bloods but they called and said it was a good idea to check if everything came away naturally. My hcg went from 195 to 30 in 4 days so they said as long as I got a negative pregnancy test in a week I didn't need to go back.

The only thing I didn't like was the person doing the scan obviously couldn't see anything and asked 'do you definitely want this pregnancy?'. I thought that was quite insensitive. I was on my own as my other half couldn't get out of work so she probably thought It was an unplanned single parent pregnancy!

mrsjkerry · 22/01/2017 14:04

No I didn't mean to suggest you were being horrible! I just meant that they'll take their lead from you I imagine, and discuss it as much or as little as you want.

Work will be good, if anything, as a distraction! I have certainly always thought so in the past.

Hi claire your line looks similar to the one I got this morning. I used the CB digital OPK and got a flashing smiley face for the first time this cycle, then when you eject the test stick you can see the line itself - looked of a similar strength to yours. The flashing smiley means "high" fertility so hopefully I'll get a peak in a few days to confirm ovulation! DTD earlier today as soon as I got the reading and will try again later.

Hope work isn't too bad for you tomorrow and as mrsj said, acts as a distraction for you Flowers.

Hi twisted what cycle day are you on? How negative was the line? From what I can tell and have read, it does darken pretty quickly, so you wouldn't necessarily see a steady increase in line strength if that makes sense!

ttcnovice · 22/01/2017 15:25

This was my line this morning for the "high fertility" reading

Twistedsister7 · 22/01/2017 21:14

Got this now, 24 hours after a negative. Is this positive or almost there?

Maybe a better picture, control line is left hand side on this point be.

MistyBxx · 22/01/2017 21:29

Hi everyone, mind if I join?
I'm 32, ttc #1, cycle #5
Came off the pill (after 15 years) in August for my wedding in September. Was dtd for fun first couple of months with the wedding and honeymoon until October when began ttc properly.
Cycles have been regular (30-31 days) and I'm using Clue app to predict my FW (it's been spot on with my periods so far like clockwork!)
Not getting any or much ovulation symptoms although I have been opk stick testing and have been having positives (or what I thought were positives... very faint line) so trying to dtd when that happens but so far nothing. Af arrives like clockwork.
I'm trying not to worry, it's possible the pill is still in my system and I've recently found out a faint opk line is not a positive, only if the 2 lines are same in darkness indicates the actual LH surge (is this true?) so I could have been dtd on the wrong days.
But we do it often during the FW so I'm now worrying that as I haven't noticed much egg white (if any!) that I'm not making enough to keep the swimmers there long enough to find the egg.
Could anyone offer any experiences or advice?xxx

Twistedsister7 · 22/01/2017 21:40

Hi Misty. As you can see from my pics the lines get darker. It has to match the control line to be considered positive & when it does you ovulate within 12-24 hours. Once you ovulate it's the end of fw. Dtd often in your fertile week as sperm can live for 5 days I've heard so get it in ready for ovulation. Lol. Good luck xx

MistyBxx · 22/01/2017 22:01

Thank You Twisted :) I just saw your pics and mine have been the same!
The darkest lines I had were morning pee on Thursday morning and we had dtd Wednesday night. Then I had lower tummy pain all day Thursday and Friday (my friend said this could be ovulation but I've never had this pain before... hubby went a bit ott when we dtd lol so I thought maybe I was just a bit tender/bruised. Sorry tmi!)
So if the egg popped out say Friday, we dtd Wednesday night, the swimmers may have hung around to meet it?
We also dtd this morning but egg would have disappeared by then I think.
Thanks for the advice and fingers crossed for us all!xxx

ttcnovice · 22/01/2017 22:12

Twisted that looks almost there! I bet it will either be positive in the morning, or lighter again if the surge happens overnight. Either way I'd take that as a sure sign of ovulating in the next day or so!

Welcome Misty Smile yes, the lines on the LH tests have to be the same strength to indicate a positive (there or thereabouts). Sperm can last up to around 5 days, so they say the ideal time to DTD is the few days leading up to ovulation, and the day of itself. DH and I have DTD the day after I've had a positive OPK too, but I'm not sure if it's too late by then - always worth a try anyway I say! Good luck with this cycle, hope you get your BFP!

ttcnovice · 22/01/2017 22:14

Misty have a look at a lubricant called "pre-seed" if you think you might not be producing enough CM. We're using it properly for the first time this month (TMI but the applicator was a right faff to use!) so will see if it makes a difference, here's hoping!

MistyBxx · 22/01/2017 22:37

Thank you novice. I noticed it quite obviously one month, back in Nov I think. But since then, apart from the lines on the stick, I haven't had any solid hints! And without that stuff, I imagine the swimmers won't last so long so will defo look into that stuff!xx

MistyBxx · 22/01/2017 23:15

Me again! Ok I've just downloaded Ovia app to track my cycle. I've been using Clue for 5 months but because I had just started ttc at the time I first downloaded it, I didn't know my cycle length so have been basing it on the average of 28. Having started again with Ovia, and entered my actual cycle length which is 30-31 days (I've used 31 in the app) looking back over my last few months, I've hardly dtd in my fertile week at all! Or just once!
facepalm!
So with a new app and an updated and correct cycle length, it appears that I dtd on my ovulation day today! I thought I had missed it! Although my opk did show lines Thursday and Friday last week...
I may just be clutching at straws lol.
Roll on the next 2 weeks til I can test/AF arrives (hopefully not!)
Fingers crossed for everyone

ttcnovice · 23/01/2017 12:06

That sounds hopeful Misty - FX for you, hopefully the tww goes quickly!

MistyBxx · 23/01/2017 12:13

Thank you. I totally thought I was pg last month though, symptom spotting all over the place lol so just gonna TRY and put it out my mind now and just do what I usually do at this time of the month... look forward to pay day haha x
