Hello there

Is there anyone else on here trying for their first baby around the same age as me? 25/26? Would love to talk to someone about it as I am currently driving my husband mad with all the TTC chat!

Amz that looks like it's on it's way towards being positive! Test again a bit later on to see if it's any darker!

Amz26 · 16/12/2016 14:10

Thanks, I will do another at home after work today.. I will let you know! After a possitive how long roughly do you tend to ovulate? That sounds positive TTC! fx for you 😀

Pinkbottletop · 16/12/2016 15:18

Just found out my brothers girlfriend is pregnant. Trying to muster up happiness but feeling rather down about it.

Twistedsister7 · 16/12/2016 15:19

Sorry pink. It's a horrible situation. I went to a baby shower recently & I was one of a few with no baby or baby on the way. Also ttc is top secret for us couldn't tell anyone. Just say twiddling my thumbs the whole day. Happy for people but feel sorry for myself too xx

Amz26 · 16/12/2016 15:33

Must be so hard for you pink.. I Hope next month you can tell us the same thing X

Lozalooloo3 · 16/12/2016 16:01

Hi Everyone,

Replying to original post.
I'm new here, this is my first ever post.
This is our first time TTC.
Only came of my pill in October, so this is my second cycle since then.
I have endometriosis so have been told by a specialist to TTC for next 6 months, and if we have no luck I need to go back for further tests.
This cycle I decided to buy the ovulation kit.
I've been using it, had the flashing smiley face for last 3 days but no solid smile to show peak fertility, although my app says I should have ovulated by now.
It's all very confusing isn't it!
I also find myself constantly assessing my body for signs and things! I'm annoying myself! Today I've been feeling like a heavy pressure feeling like I need to pee! But again, I think I'm thinking too much about it.

I'm 26 and DH is 27. We were married in August this year!

Lovely to speak to you all x

ttcnovice · 16/12/2016 17:49

Amz I think it's anywhere between 12 and 36 hours later that you ovulate. Thanks, just trying not to build myself up for disappointment!

Sorry pink it's hard isn't it Sad

Welcome Loz Smile the app's are based on averages so I'd put more trust in the OPKs if I were you. It may just be that you ovulate later than usual in your cycle. Keep doing them and Fx you get a peak fertility reading soon!

Amz26 · 16/12/2016 18:00

Thanks ttc I just hope it's not lighter than this morning 😁 Yeah Defo I understand that X

Welcome Loz.. I do think the OPK are the best thing to use as your body can change month to month.. Hoping you get a positive on the OPK soon X

Amz26 · 16/12/2016 19:01

So I'm a little confused!! So I just got home from work and did another OPK test and it lighten than this morning 🤔 I thought it was meant to be better to test in the evening? X

ttcnovice · 16/12/2016 19:41

Maybe you only had a short surge Amz so have missed the positive throughout the day? If I were you I'd keep testing but in the meantime act as though you're about to ovulate! Lots of DTD for you tonight and tomorrow! Grin

Amz26 · 16/12/2016 20:06

Yeah that's true and because it's my first month off the pill my body still could be doing funny things! That is a very short surge tho 🤔 I'll test again tomorrow and see how that goes! Thanks TTC X

Lozalooloo3 · 16/12/2016 20:09

Hi all.
My ClearBlue Ov test stick looked like this and shows a flashing smile face.. is it when the second line is darker that I've reached the surge/peak fertility?
I'm new to the ovulation kits!
Help appreciated Confused

TTC - First time!
ttcnovice · 16/12/2016 20:56

I've not used the clearblue tests Loz but it's usually a positive once the test line is as dark as the control line!

GN06 · 17/12/2016 07:30

Hi,

Age 26
TTC #1
Cycle 1
CD7.

Using clear blue monitor for ovulation.

Loz I'm using the same one as you. As far as I'm aware, the faint line means it's picking up your estrogen surge, which means you are on your way to ovulation. When you reach peak fertility, the line will be darker and it will have detected your LH surge. Hope that makes sense!

Lozalooloo3 · 17/12/2016 09:07

Hi GN
Looking at your stats, we are similar.
Age-26
TTC #1
CD 18

First cycle TTC.
Did my clear clue OPK this morning and got the solid smile face, so reached peak fertility, DTD right away this morning! Haha
Good luck to you! X

ttcnovice · 17/12/2016 10:43

Well I'm out this cycle everyone, AF arrived this morning a day late just to tease me Sad.

I'd been trying really hard to not get my hopes up, especially as it was our first cycle, but with all the symptoms I'd been having it was difficult not to. I think I'm feeling more upset than I would be because of the time of year too - I'd stupidly got carried away imagining telling my DM on Christmas day!

Onto the next cycle I guess...

Amz26 · 17/12/2016 13:16

Welcome on the bus gn and loz

My stats are exactly the same as both of yours!
Only thing I'm not sure when AF is due 😁

Sorry to hear about AF TTC X

Pinkbottletop · 17/12/2016 16:01

Sorry to hear that TTC. I felt exactly the same. Had started researching ways of telling DM and was devastated when AF came.

ttcnovice · 17/12/2016 18:38

Thanks Amz

It's not a nice feeling is it pink Sad strange how I've been having periods since I was 12 years old, and it can suddenly feel so devastating!

DH took me out for a nice lunch today to try and cheer us both up, so just trying to focus on cycle number 2 now!

How is everyone tonight?

Amz26 · 17/12/2016 20:32

That's very sweet of your DH! Hoping cycle 2 is better!

I think my OPK is getting darker so I'm hoping going to ovulate soon! I know it's not there yet but think it will be soon. X

TTC - First time!
ttcnovice · 17/12/2016 21:57

He's a good 'un my DH Smile thanks Amz positive vibes all round for us all next month!

That's definitely getting there! I bet it will be positive by Monday if not tomorrow!

lillypad3 · 17/12/2016 22:37

Hello! I started TTC last year and tried for 10 months straight but no luck so we both decided to stop.

I really want to TTC but my OH doesn't really want to right now. Quite sad about it

Amz26 · 18/12/2016 00:11

Was he upset too? My OH is so chilled out about it ATM.. He did buy me the OPK test but he's still calm and telling me to chill out!

Welcome Lilly sorry to hear you're having a bad time ATM.. All the ladies on here are so lovely so we can always help you.. I hope you OH changes him mind soon! I had to stop TTC in 2014 as my partner had a serous bike accident and it was so hard to see him in such a bad way plus haven't to put a hold on TTC.. So I really do get what you're going through. X

GN06 · 18/12/2016 11:00

Hey Loz,

Good luck to you! I'm still waiting for my first high day. Last cycle was only 20 days so I was already on high by now. Guess this ones going to be slightly longer!! Had the coil removed last month, so I think they're trying to get back into some sort of pattern!

Lozalooloo3 · 18/12/2016 11:04

Hi GN.
I've only been off the pill for 2 months so this is my second cycle, I guess it may take a while for our bodies to find their rhythm again.
My endometriosis is my biggest worry but I'm giving it 6 months of TTC before I let my specialist intervene with more tests.

I was out in York shopping yesterday and had the horrible OV pains in my right side, so think OV had happened or about to.
Just hope we have DTD enough!!!

Fx for you! Keep in touch xxxx
