How did it go pez

So I saw the top bod, who was lovely. No scan today (yay) just an hour chat.he suggests medicated iui so 10days subcutaneous injections to stop ovulation, alternate days of fsh via injection and then one injection to make me ovulate.
Hoping to have my nurses appointment and counsellors appt next month then hopefully start with my cycle in march (should be 1st week of March) said pretty easy to get iui booked in as usually a slot or 2 free each week that is held for only iui but more people do ivf (unless in situations like most of us)
The guy I saw vets the in house donors so I'll probably go with one of them as he said he is very picky along with the medical reasons as well so I can ring lab anytime to discuss with them about which donor to chose and think he said a list will be sent out with them-but will ask for one if not!!!
So frigging excited!!!
They have a 28% success rate with medicated and donor iui so he was very positive

The satellite clinic is near bobbing char and they do scans and consults there on certain days (but not iui)

Char22thom · 13/01/2017 15:45

Thanks pickle, really pleased for you that it went so well, sounds like a really positive appointment!! Bet you are excited! Were you expecting to have medicated iui? What are the next steps for you now? Scans? Beginning of march is so soon, how are you feeling about it all now youve started the ball rolling? X

Pez82 · 13/01/2017 15:58

pickle so pleased for you, it all sounds fantastic!! And March is just round the corner! Soooo glad to hear you seem so positive after this first apppinment.

IUI went really well, a really good sample with 65% motility and 23million sperm!!!! My TSH is also down to 2.23 so really pleased with this. They have given me (well 'sold') the progesterone capsules to insert 3 times a day and also booked me for my beta on 27th Jan. Everyone was so lovely and I got to lie down for 20min afterwards, although I do get what you said kwick about the bladder, I was bursting and ran to the bathroom as soon as I stood up!

Will now go and get my pineapple and put my feet up for the rest of the day Smile

I'm officially in the 2ww - yay Confused

Thanks for all your good wishes xx

pickle162 · 13/01/2017 16:14

Yay 2ww!!!!! Glad it went well pez

Um was quite open, they know what they are doing, he said 6ish% for unmedicated but don't have to do any lh surges all done by meds and scans only but still going to monitor for my own sanity.
This sounds far better with fitting in with work too and he said I shouldn't need too many medications so should be about £1800 per cycle all in.
He was ready to get started asap but I said March but only about 6weeks and if have nurses and counsellors appointment in between it'll go really quick and my birthday in between!
I'm so excited guys, 2017 is going to be a good year for all of us I can feel it xx

StorkAhoy · 13/01/2017 16:56

And best of all pickle is that we're going to be cycle buddies!!!!!!!

Glad it went well both of you! And pez good luck on TWW!!!!!

StorkAhoy · 13/01/2017 16:56

CautionHormone · 13/01/2017 16:57

Pickle, it sounds like you had an amazing appointment! How do you feel? I'm so excited for you, I can't wait for you to get started!!! March isn't far away at all, I'm moving in March and it's seems so close... So glad you had a positive consult.

Pez, thats brilliant! I'm glad your TSH is down, and 65% motility & 23m sperm is also really great! 2ww now to get through... Rest & relaxation all the way! & lots of pineapple, like you said Wink

I have a reaaaallly good feeling about 2017!

INeedNewShoes · 13/01/2017 17:07

pickle162 · 13/01/2017 17:28

Eek stork yay to be cycle buddies, that's so cool.

Thanks caution yeh I feel quite motivated about it all and very excited, and seems like it'll fit into work ok

Don't think I'm going to sleep well tonight mulling it all over xx

kwick · 13/01/2017 17:35

stork I do not recall my FC ever saying anything about flying... and they knew how often I did travel Confused

LOL pickle you really were not taking any risks of being late!!!! #mostenthusiasticpatient
Great progress made & March is jusr around the corner!!!
If you are on meds they will interfere with the opks and so FC will most likely monitor your LH through bloods (which is way more accurate anyway).

Yay pez!!!! Well done!!! 23 million?????? Wowzers!!! Remember to keep feet and kidneys warm at all times!!!!

StorkAhoy · 13/01/2017 17:47

kwick yeah so while on the pre Egg collection meds one can travel, but once transfer happens they don't want you travelling till wk 14. My friends fc said the same, my GP and acupuncturist too. It's a strong suggestion of not flying. Is why tempt anything best to stay on the ground. It's like the advice not to lift anything heavier than your handbag in the TWW. Don't do it, don't divert any energy away from your uterus.

Now everyone is different. You are pregnant so clearly didn't apply!
My medical (private by NHS) professionals are all agreed on not flying before wk14.

But then if I went to Cyprus for treatment I would have to fly....

Pez82 · 13/01/2017 17:53

I know kwick, I had to ask the embryologist to repeat as I couldn't believe it!

It's so cold but I'll make sure to keep my feet warm. I've invited some friends over tomorrow so I don't have to go out in the cold!

kwick · 13/01/2017 18:04

stork I meant after treatment... actually with this BFP I did no travel at all... and now I am restricted to day trips by train.

Laugh some too pez that can help!!

HopingForALittleOne · 13/01/2017 19:59

Yay pez glad it went well - does it seem surreal thinking/ knowing 23 million swimming around ;) all fingers and toes crossed for you - I think I heard old wives tale about visualising conception- not sure whether anyone else did this?

Pickle glad consultation went well. I thought I was super enthusiastic arriving at mine 40 min earlier but that's beat me. It did make me feel calmer knowing I was there though and I just read my book until
Nearer the time. It will fly by and be March before we know it xx

I've had a right faff today as rang clinic to find out doc didn't confirm CPA accredited lab who did blood tests. So been going back and forth in call in between meeting at work. Doc said unable to confirm , gave me number of hospital who gave me number of lab who confirmed they were but said could only formally communicate / email doc. So had to plead for them to do today and then go back to doc to chase up for them to email FC. They have but clinic closed now so will have to call tomorrow to see if they still ok I do treatment this month - I'll be gutted if they say I will have to wait until next month!

kwick · 13/01/2017 20:11

yep hoping I did the visualisation thing... a bit intermittently though!
What a run around for the bloods!!! Hope you can still start this month.

OP posts:
pickle162 · 13/01/2017 20:17

Today they said if you have blood tests done at the clinic on the day you can get results within the day so I know it's money but hopefully would mean you could still have it done

Latenightreader · 13/01/2017 20:28

Exciting times Pez, eat that pineapple and think fertile thoughts!

Really glad pickle's appointment went well. I had no idea that the medicated IUI made such a difference.

I made the decision to try IVF and I'm going to ring the clinic on Monday to start the process. Anyone want to buy a kidney?!

pickle162 · 13/01/2017 20:32

He showed me their logs for last few years so we worked out percentages while I was there. He did go on about a lot of stuff, he did like to talk bless him :)

Loopsdefruits · 13/01/2017 20:49

Hi everyone, sorry for the absence, I was stressing about my AMH result being too low for egg-sharing BUT today I heard back from Bourn, all totally fine :D so I'm all set to start the process in June, which feels so far away but time will probably whizz by :D

kwick · 13/01/2017 20:49

Sorry late do not need a new kidney at this time! IVF!!! How exciting!

OP posts:
pickle162 · 13/01/2017 20:54

Loops what was ur amh?

Loopsdefruits · 13/01/2017 21:05

13.5, I'm 25, google is not your friend in these situations lol I was weirdly 'feeling' like it wouldn't be good, but then it made me anxious anyway haha

pickle162 · 13/01/2017 21:32

Ooh so the dude I saw today said the optimum amh according to some top fertility dude is 7.5-17.5 is perfect :)

Loopsdefruits · 13/01/2017 21:59

pickle that is so reassuring Grin

pickle162 · 13/01/2017 22:03

I know I was well chuffed....he said that he doesn't agree with the age ranges for amh and they work on a basis of:
Under 1.5=very low
1.5-5.5=low
5.5-15/20ish=normal
20+=likely polycystic ovary
