Round my way it's meant to stop at 10pm snow a bit for an hour or 2 in morning then rain then sunshine so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!! My clinic is around 25miles away but love the idea of walking in together-in our heads we'all just pretend that's what we're doing ::)

INeedNewShoes · 12/01/2017 18:38

Well aren't I popular today? Blush Grin

The snow has arrived here Kwick (Buckinghamshire). Lots of it! I don't reckon it will hang around though. It has the looks of snow that will melt away quite quickly (so hopefully not the sort of snow to get in the way of anyone's plans tomorrow).

I've just realised that the next time I unearth my sledge from the shed it will probably be so that my child can play with it rather than for me to go hurtling down a hill on it! That makes me Smile and a smidgen Sad all at the same time. Am I going to have to grow up?

CautionHormone · 12/01/2017 19:06

You're all so right. The Sod's law will play a part in this, and is playing a part in this by a badly timed trip to Australia like you said, Shoes, so I'll go, and gladly go, but I'm also going to go ahead with everything as planned. I won't do anything between May - July, though, because I'm pretty sure you can't fly after a certain week in your pregnancy? I may be wrong, but I think that's what I've heard! It's likely to be after then then that I start anyway, what with my laparoscopy & things anyway... But I've got everything (money wise) good and ready to go, it's just getting this god damned laparoscopy out the way - and by extension, this god damned weight off first!

Shoes, I have really bad memory anyway, but I don't remember that?! That's crazy! That really is Sod's law! You most definitely won't care when your baby is here, you'll love him/her unconditionally... Especially his/her hair colour Wink
And I totally agree with everyone else. I love the way you have with words, you're so full of wisdom Wink Blush haha.

Thank you for all your help tonight lovelies. X

CautionHormone · 12/01/2017 19:07

Oh, & Pez - I've waited two years already, but have been thinking about it a lot longer... another year would kill me!

CautionHormone · 12/01/2017 19:20

I've just googled the airline we're travelling with. They allow infants over 7 days old to travel, they also have baby bassinets that are on first come first serve basis. It all seems really good and feasible..

kwick · 12/01/2017 19:40

shoes I was born in Buckinghamshire... at my grandparents house just outside Brill - with no Dr present... it explains a lot 😜!!!
Only rain in North London 😢

Stopped snowing now but causing chaos getting out of road but think it'll be ok. I'm sure after the school run (live very near 2schools) it'll be clear and I'll leave extra time just in case

HopingForALittleOne · 12/01/2017 21:03

Sorry I missed the chat today work is long and stressful already. I didn't get chance to phone clinic to say first day of period - do you think bad if I tell white lie and phone tomorow and says it's my first day? I'm scared if I second day they will say can't do treatment this month.

caution it seems you have already had some good advice ( especially from shoes and I love concept of sod law from kwick!)

Good luck pez!! FlowersFlowersStar

Pez82 · 12/01/2017 21:14

Thank you hoping

I called on day 2 as my day 1 was 1st Jan and it wasn't a problem at all. First scan was on day 6 so there was plenty of time. The only reason my clinic wouldn't start a cycle is if the magic potion hasn't arrived

Good news you're on a new cycle!

HopingForALittleOne · 12/01/2017 21:24

Thanks for sharing Pez feel better now :) I don't think I go for scan as I'm trying natural iui so I just call when ovulate ( around two weeks time) Smilefeeling excited - can only imagine how you are feeling!

Pez82 · 12/01/2017 21:54

I'm doing natural too and I had 3 scans. Are you sure the scans aren't included in the treatment? They would need to monitor the growth of the follicles and lining

INeedNewShoes · 12/01/2017 22:00

Some clinics insist on scans for unmedicated IUI but they're not necessary.

My clinic don't do any scans as a matter of course. They just go on OPKs to get the timing right. It doesn't seem to make any difference - their success rates are as good as any other clinic.

HopingForALittleOne · 12/01/2017 22:01

Oh? I'm not sure now? That's thrown me a bit! Just had another look at process chart I have - it has arrows that indicate when a scan could be taken but nurse didn't mention that when we were going through it. I'll find out when I call tomorrow :) thanks for heads up

HopingForALittleOne · 12/01/2017 22:02

Thanks for your info shoes don't feel like a complete clutz that I've missed something but I'll still check tomorrow.

INeedNewShoes · 12/01/2017 22:09

Seriously Hoping - don't panic - a lot of the UK clinics seem to take a very involved approach but it's absolutely not necessary. The clinics that do this don't have better stats on the whole...

pickle162 · 13/01/2017 07:45

Good luck today pez will be thinking of you. Hope snow/ice doesn't affect anything for u!
I'm getting really really worried that my appointment will be cancelled. Don't plan to move away from my phone incase they call. Plan to leave very early! I will be absolutely devastated if can't goSad

kwick · 13/01/2017 07:57

hoping is it so you can have a baseline scan? They can do that cd 1, 2 and 3.

Best of luck pez and pickle!!!!

ahoy all!

such busy bunnies over night!

Last night we went to a medieval banquet last night with sword fighting, pirates, belly dancers, snakes and lots of fire..... utterly strange but hilarious!

I too am a Buckinghamshire lass Smile

Caution as the wise lady said, invoke the law of sod. Plan it all and then see what happens if its time for your baby, then its your time.

There is something to be said for finding the right time to do this, but there is a warning label with that. Its really easy to keep putting it off (I was THE QUEEN of this!), only you know what you're feeling.

to clarify flight limitations heres an excerpt from the BA website: after 28th week you need a drs note, no flying after wk 32 with multiple pregnancy and no more flying after wk 36 with a single pregnancy.

oh and if your FC is like mine (CARE) then they won't want you flying before week 14 either. and when I say they won't want you to, I mean they will lecture and guilt you into agreeing. #SternNurses

Fingers crossed that my return flight isn't cancelled this afternoon!

Pez82 · 13/01/2017 08:42

I'll be thinking about you too pickle, can't wait to hear all about it later this afternoon!

The snow has melted here and the sky is clear so it looks like I'll be fine on the weather side. I'm really bloated this morning and didn't sleep well - too much thinking about whether I timed the IUI well. It's the first time I used the digital test and got my positive on FMU at 7am but didn't get a darker line on strips until late afternoon (got a pretty much same colour line around 2pm). Too much thinking I'm telling you!!!
Anyway, PMA all the way Smile

INeedNewShoes · 13/01/2017 09:10

Exciting day today!

Good luck for your IUI Pez Smile The digitals are more reliable than the cheapies so stop worrying!

Pickle - hope your consultation goes well Smile

pickle162 · 13/01/2017 11:50

I'm at the clinic now as I left sooooo long to get her but weather was getting worse was not going to risk being late!! Only 1hr 40 to wait eeeeekkkkkk!!!!

Char22thom · 13/01/2017 12:05

So glad you made it pickle!! Will be keeping everything crossed for you, hope all goes well! x

hopingandwaiting · 13/01/2017 12:07

Good luck pickle and pez :)

CautionHormone · 13/01/2017 12:56

Just wanted to say that I hope your consultation goes well pickle, and that I hope your IUI goes well Pez - have been thinking of you ladies all morning!

Thank you Stork. I think we'll be going to the same clinic - CARE N'pton?! That's good to know about the flying - thank you. I wasn't sure and was going to google myself, but you've just saved me a lot of unnecessary stress as I can never usually find the right information myself Grin
I don't want to keep putting it off. I'm ready to now, and I don't want Australia to get in the way. I'm already having to put it off because of my investigations/surgery for endometriosis - after that's out the way, I plan to go straight ahead wit it!
Fx your flight wasn't cancelled!

Hope you're all okay!

Pez82 · 13/01/2017 13:02

I'm on my way Smile
Haven't had time to think about it as I had a windows consultant at mine this morning to discuss building a conservatory (looking into extending to have more space for the future little one!). He was there for an hour and an half and I had to kick him out to catch my train! It means I haven't time for lunch and will also need to buy the pineapple on the way back...

Might grab something at M&S on the way so I'm not starving during the IUI!!

Glad you got there pickle and can't wait to hear all about it!
