Thanks pickle and shoes - according to chart I should be at least 200 - as I am 4w2d....

Its quite possible that you just implanted slightly later. Let's hope that's the case!

kwick · 02/01/2017 21:17

Thanks for PMA shoes

pickle162 · 02/01/2017 21:23

Ah I see, but literally only a day behind which could easily be when the implantation was, it could have be late at night and maybe if ur blood test was later it would be fine. Hope the week goes quick.at least u get results on same day x

kwick · 02/01/2017 21:57

You are lovely too pickle 😍

Kwick I think your number is fine. One number means nothing anyway. Your next test will tell you if it is rising ok. One day at a time. I am bursting I'm so happy for you. Just keep believing it will be ok. Surround yourself with positive thoughts and breathe deep. You deserve this and your child deserves you as a mom. X

kwick · 03/01/2017 06:59

Lovely words karen - thank you so much 💕

hopingandwaiting · 03/01/2017 07:54

I agree with everyone kwick; those numbers are averages, what you need to focus on is your PMA and your Dr will look at how the number rises.

As for the cramping - I had horrendous period type pains, swollen boobs and backache so I was totally convinced it hadn't worked, yet it had - so the cramps are perfectly normal.

taydex · 03/01/2017 09:19

I agree with the other ladies. Could just be a timing thing and it's only very slightly lower than 200. Keep up that PMA. You deserve this. Have you done any more preg tests? x

kwick · 03/01/2017 09:22

Thanks all!! PMA all the way!!! even if I am back at work tomorrow

taydex I have done each day since Friday but was going to try and give today a miss... no longer have any FMU...

StorkAhoy · 03/01/2017 10:55

fingers continue to be crossed for you Kwick!!! did I miss something though, what are the numbers your discussing and how did you find out you were 187? clearly missed a conversation!

kwick · 03/01/2017 12:59

Thanks stork. My FC did a Beta HCG blood test yesterday which was 187 - which is on the low side, so a retest on Friday.

I saw the locum GP today - I saw him before Christmas too - he is nice (much more so than others at my surgery). I cried all over him - I am a disaster when talking about myself. Anyway he has given me a fit note saying I should avoid travel. Will explain to my main boss on Friday...

Kwick, try not to panic too much. As everyone else has said, them numbers are just guidelines and averages - everybody is different! It's only slightly lower than 200, and theres different factors that could be why your reading was just a little less - you deserve this, try and relax until Friday (easier said than done!) and embrace the fact that you are pregnant!!

StorkAhoy · 03/01/2017 15:00

I am so glad you got the fit note! well done. My fc don't want me travelling at all, which was why I told work about the ivf as they were trying to send me to japan, brazil and mexico!! and really why take the chance if you don't need to.

Ah yes HCG levels, got it, I thought there was a new fangled pee stick that told you and I had somehow missed this amazing thing! but no, a blood test makes far more sense!!!

but dude, as of right now, you are are pregnant, focus on that. revel in it! forget what you should be numbers wise!!
xx

pickle162 · 03/01/2017 19:13

Ooh that's good about the fit note :) only 3more sleeps till next test!!!

Hi all

Just in case you're interested, Boots are doing 3 for 2 on all pregnancy and ovulation tests. I just got 2 FRERs for free Smile. On the other hand I spent £27 on the clear blue dual hormone test...

What was your stress levels like before your 1st IUI? I don't know why but I'm getting so nervous (I guess stressing about not getting stressed) and don't know what to do! I have budgeted for 6 attempts and have 3 vials in stock so I don't know why I'm getting so stressed!! It's mostly excitement but still, I'm now worrying that I will delay my ovulation if I can't stop thinking about it!!

Any tips?

kwick · 05/01/2017 18:00

I think it is very normal to be stressed/excited - however pez you need to be riding on a wave of PMA not anxiety!

Latenightreader · 05/01/2017 18:14

Pez. The first IUI was...weird. A bit more uncomfortable than I was expecting, but once it was over I felt fine and went back to work as planned. Of the others, I had one not nice one which I wished I could have gone home and rested afterwards, but the others went really smoothly. All the best!

I had a clinic appointment this afternoon and now have to decide whether to go for more IUIs (probably with a different donor) or to go straight to IVF which is what the doctor recommends - IUI is more affordable and less invasive, but IVF has a much higher success rate. I definitely need thinking time...

INeedNewShoes · 05/01/2017 18:23

Pez - are there particular things that you're nervous about?

I definitely felt excited ahead of my first IUI, but I felt relatively calm/positive about it. I remember walking to the clinic with this feeling of 'what I am about to do is life-changing' but I enjoyed that feeling!

I was stressed when I got back to my car at the airport late at night and the headlights weren't working though ConfusedGrin

Pez82 · 05/01/2017 19:19

Thank you all. Funnily I'm not nervous about the procedure at all and I've also booked the day off so I really have nothing to worry about.

I don't know what it is but I think that I focused so much on not getting stressed that I got too anxious about it. But it's also a lot of excitement like when you've booked a trip ages ago and it's finally coming! I'm generally happy about it, I'm just worried I will miss my LH surge or that the timing will be wrong (i.e. fall during the weekend). I keep telling myself it's silly and that it's not the end of the world if it doesn't work. I think I will be more relaxed for the next tries.

Anyway I've started drinking a glass of red wine in the evening as it relaxes me...

I have my CD6 scan tomorrow so hopefully this will also help me - I just can't wait I guess!!!

Thank you for listening x

kwick · 05/01/2017 19:54

late may I be so bold as to enquire after your age? IVF typically does have higher success rates. I defo agree with changing your magic potion provider.

pez my first IUI was horrid - I had raging thrush and the speculum insert was agony, I cried at the end and pretty much the Dr did not know what to do with me!!! I really did not know what the procedure would be like - happy to explain if you want me to?
Subsequent IUIs have been much "easier" but it never pleasant having speculum go in... the last one the Dr was so fast I hardly noticed (or my fanjo is getting bigger Confused)...
Great that you have day off... umm but how do you know what day?
Best of luck with scan tomorrow.

I bought up ALL the FRER stock from the Boots at Kings Cross Blush
So reassuring to see test line come up before control line.
Repeat HCG test tomorrow.
