Completely anecdotal, but on the subject of alcohol...

A good friend of mine had been ttc naturally for months and months and not getting anywhere. She and I went away on holiday together and drank a bottle of wine between us every day. When she was back home the following week she conceived her first child. Apparently her mum was the same and took a long time to conceive but did so after a few days of drinking wine.

There could be something in this. Something in red wine improves blood flow to the uterus and makes the lining more ripe for implantation.

I'm not suggesting that everyone starts drinking loads, but this info was enough for me not to bother abstaining!

That's interesting Ineed. Perhaps there is something in all the "just go out and get drunk" advice.

I don't like red wine though. Do you think Jack Daniels works for conception too?

He he. Now that's the kind of advice I like. This whole business is so stressful, if wine helps destress (definitely does me) then why the hell not?!

isthis so hopefully you can see list of nasties below. Basically avoid anything that starts with cyclo!

In terms of foundations: many of the Kiko range (they have a few shops but see online - and currently have a great sale) do not contain cyclo-silicones - make sure you check the ingredients list - but the ones I know are ok are:
The cream foundation, the 2 in 1 foundation and the mat one.

In terms of a primer: Maybelline baby skin does not contain either.
Beware as it is in a lot if body lotions, serums and hair conditioners too.

I would not worry about having some drinks... a lot of women get pregnant drunk after all

Are you CRAZY????!!!!!! Of course I have retested!!! A FRER and a strip test - which had a very faint line!!!
I just got back from Poundland - I had wanted to stock up on tests but they had NONE!!!! Still managed to spend £8 though!!!

We went round the table last night (was at my aunties friends for nye) & everyone was asking New Years resolution....I was like ummmmm ( in head thinking-try my very best to have a little bambino)

Did another FRER - stronger line strip test not at all - moral to this story - buy shares in FRER!!!!

If you send me a PM with your address, when I'm back home I'll stick what tests I have in the post to you. Unless you work in central London (I can't remember where you're based) in which case we could do a handover one lunchtime or after work.

At midnight I was contemplating the year ahead and I have to admit that my overriding feeling was one of fear! Fear about whether I'll cope alone with my baby and fear about what the year will hold for my parents as my dad has Parkinson's disease and seems to be on a downhill path with it now. But I'm sure its just because by midnight I was shattered and I will approach 2017 with more excitement and positivity than that really!

The strip test HPTs are pants (as proved in my experiment on the last thread). Great news Kwick that it looks like your little embryo is settling in

Eeek (warning slush alert!) I really do love all u girlies, wouldn't have been half as prepared or supported without you all.

shoes it's going to be tricky, but we are all heading into this knowing it will be hard but we will cope and it'll be totally worth it....and we'll all still be around to support each other through the thick and thin like we have done for the past year

shoes you are an amazeballs lady. It is only natural that you are with fear as well as with child but I know you as strong and courageous and will be an ace mummy and manage, nay excel, at mummyhood.
