Wow just starting to watch the Panorama documentary of Fertility Clinics... I really hope that I have not been hoodwinked!!!

How are you doing karen?

INeedNewShoes · 29/11/2016 21:24

Karen - it sounds as though you've been making the most of the time you've got with Jack. I hope you're coping ok. Even though you've got other things on your mind I'm still crossing my fingers that this might be your successful cycle Flowers

Kwick and *Stork" - you must be needing the end of your tww. Thinking about you both. I know its torturous waiting and wondering. Sending positive thoughts your way Smile

Kwick - is it a new documentary?

INeedNewShoes · 29/11/2016 21:25

Silly typos! Sorry. Obviously I meant nearing not needing!

INeedNewShoes · 29/11/2016 23:09

Kwick - ignore my last question.

Just in case you want to see what other MN folks are saying about the Panorama programme, I've just stumbled on this thread.

Hi all. I think I might have a chemical pregnancy. With the stress of everything I've been cramping and have a brown tinge to my cm. my beta yesterday was 28. I know it can Be normal but I'm not optimistic. I go back for another beta tomorrow. I'm exhausted, not eating well and dehydrated. Just crappy timing for everything. Jack isn't doing well. Unless he really turns around I think that it is going to be sooner rather than later. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. X

pickle162 · 30/11/2016 06:53

Just read all the stuff from the link shoes in 2 minds to watch it but I think I'll download it
It makes me cross IF clinics would do that just for £££ but suppose there are going to be good and bad places out there.

My clinic used to be a little clinic on its own and only joined up with CARE as they wanted a clinic in Tunbridge wells so it was either join them or fight against them (& it meant they got given lots of new flash equipment) My consultant that did my leg knows the consultants there and they both speak very highly of each other which helps put me at ease as my leg consultant I think is like god! He truly has changed my leg so I think we all have to have some faith that not all clinics are money grabbers and just want the money and aren't bothered about the outcome. So fingers crossed for positives for everyone.
X

Karen - thinking of you. I know nothing about beta levels but I had blood tinged mucus this time, though very short-lived so I wouldn't read much into that either way.

Whatever the outcome, we're here for you Flowers

StorkAhoy · 30/11/2016 11:02

Hi all, I'm half way through my extended TWW! But I tested today, and an expected negative. Why did I test? Because I wanted to, because any symptoms I was experiencing have gone and because I wanted to.

Haven't seen the panorama. But with all the research I did on various clinics (I price checked around 11 clinics here and abroad) the prices varied widely! One does have to be very careful.

Karen, again, thoughts and prayers are with you both.

So this is me, feeling a ok, but a bit meh.

kwick · 30/11/2016 18:18

I am in the same boat stork but glad I tested as it helps me manage my expectations.

I am very relieved my FC did not feature but I have had an "add on" = Assisted Hatching - and now I am wondering if this was really necessary Confused I will definitely ask more questions next time.

shoes thanks for the thread link - very interesting.

So I finally did something I have been meaning to do for ages today - I have procured the services of a CV writer and am getting my CV updated. Who knows where it will take me? Wink

general Q: what is the earliest any of you have received a BFP?

INeedNewShoes · 01/12/2016 13:58

The evening of 12dpo.

I'm an oddity - I get stronger tests later in the day. I think its because I'm in the habit of drinking a lot more water in the evenings (because I get to 4pm and realise all I've had all day is a coffee!) so my morning wee is very diluted.

What dpo is everyone on now?

I'm thinking of all three of you often and crossing my fingers for positive results.

StorkAhoy · 01/12/2016 15:37

thanks shoes.

As its IVF we don't really do DPO, rather DPT, so I had a 5day blastocyst transferred and Im 9 days post transfer, I supposed to test at 16 days post transfer....

I have no idea why Im supposed to wait so long - I guess theres still a chance my bfn could turn to a bfp, or so Im told....

Ive been so positive all along and its really hitting me yesterday and today that it prob hasn't worked. The way Im reacting is fascinating to me, as Ive been so focussed on positive thoughts. Must do better! Im still pregnant till proven otherwise!

CautionHormone · 01/12/2016 16:20

Hey ladies... Sorry I've not been around much. Been so here & there and things haven't been great so have distanced myself because I haven't wanted to bring negativity to the thread.

Karen I am so so so sorry about Jack. That's devastating news & I can't even begin to imagine how you're feeling. Take really good care of yourself. Flowers

Stork you're not out yet! Try and stay positive - it's hard, I can imagine, but you still have a week to go yet until you're "allowed" to test - alot can change in a week!

Shoes I've read back from where I last posted and I saw that your 16-week app went well and you heard the heartbeat and the baby moving. I'm thrilled for you, especially as you were worried about not taking your aspirin - I'm so glad everything's progressing as it should :) when's your next scan?

Kwick how're you feeling?! Isn't it OTD tomorrow?!

Pickle isn't your AMH this month? :)

Pez, how're you doing? :)

Pez82 · 01/12/2016 17:04

Good to hear from you caution, hope things are getting better now. I have been reading you ladies these past days and thinking about you!

I have had an issue on Tuesday. my jaw got stuck and I couldn't open my mouth anymore. It was very painful, half of my face went numb and it got worse overnight. I woke up yesterday unable to open my mouth!!! Saw the doctor and have been diagnosed with TMJ dysfunction and prescribed some horse drugs to treat the inflammation. I am on soup and yogurt since Tuesday...

I'm still booked for the hycosy on Monday though so I hope to feel better by then. Will be on both anti inflammatories and antibiotics for the next week. Still waiting on my blood results too...

kwick, have you not tested yet? Or have I missed it?

INeedNewShoes · 01/12/2016 17:49

Pez - that sounds distressing! I hope you've got tasty soup and that the drugs take effect quickly.

I hope your hycosy goes well on Monday. I strongly recommend taking Ibuprofen and/or paracetamol half an hour before the procedure. That was enough to make it relatively comfortable for me.

Hi Caution - thanks for your nice words Smile My 20-week 'anatomy' scan is on the 22nd of December. I'm feeling a lot more confident about not miscarrying now so now its just a case of crossing my fingers that they don't pick up anything bad on the scan.
I hope you're doing ok.

Stork - I think the clinics give a late-ish test date because at 16dpt whatever result you see on the test will be correct. If you see a negative at 16dpt it is highly unlikely to be wrong, and the same with a positive. At 16dpt you are beyond the chemical pregnancy risk so if you get a positive it will be a real positive. They're trying to save ladies the stress of early testing I think. But, really, who on earth has the will power to wait until 16dpt to do the first test?!

Karendvm · 01/12/2016 17:49

Hi ladies,

My hcg tripled in 48 hours which is great but today I'm having pain and the discharge is brown and dark red. I feel that the end is near. Honestly I'm so exhausted I don't care. I figure I implanted late and a lot of time those miscarry. I'll try again in January if things get back on track. I have an appt with my doctor tonight and the fertility clinic is supposed to call me back this afternoon. All seems a bit dismal. I'm resting over my lunch and have taken a Tylenol for the back pain.

Stork don't give up hope. And kwick I'm think of you too. I hope you both get bfps and do well.

X

INeedNewShoes · 01/12/2016 17:56

Argh Karen - nothing's ever straightforward Flowers. I hope you get a clear answer soon,. Obviously I hope that its a positive answer, but if its not at least you'll know where you are.

Have you got your mum there still for a bit of support?

pickle162 · 01/12/2016 18:45

caution yes it's tomorrow!!!! So excited, let slip to my manager today and really didn't want to tell her,but she is a good friend but argh I didn't really want work knowing too much

Karendvm · 01/12/2016 19:55

shoes my mom is still here which is the only reason why I'm surviving. She has been a huge support. I go for more bloodwork tomorrow. We shall see. I was so sure it was a negative cycle anyway that it's not a huge blow.

StorkAhoy · 01/12/2016 21:14

shoes what you're saying makes sense, total sense.

Thanks for the comments all!

And pez jeez, horse tranqs?! Seriously? Feel better!

karen my thoughts are with you, lovely.

pickle162 · 01/12/2016 21:34

Oh jeez pez just saw about your jaw! Hope that settles soon, jaws are very painful when playing up. Take care.

Just keep swimming karen glad ur mum is around to support you. Lots of love x

kwick · 01/12/2016 22:37

Mahoosive hugs to everyone - will try and catch up tomorrow Flowers

OP posts:
CautionHormone · 02/12/2016 14:46

Ouch Pez - that doesn't sound fun at all! & they're heavy drugs you're on... Take good care of yourself & allow yourself to recover.

Shoes aw just before Christmas! If everything's well & good (which I'm certain it will be!) it'll be the nicest Christmas ever. In January, pick up all the discounted Christmas baby outfits for next year for your little bean. Will save you doing it next year & paying full price!

Kwick its OTD!! Have you tested?!!!

Karen, how did your blood test go? Did you get your results? Try and stay positive if you can. I know it's hard, especially with everything you have going on. I really feel for you. Flowers

Pickle how'd your AMH go?! When do you find out the results?

I have so much going on that I have just sat and cried all morning. Nothing in particular set me off; I just burst into tears and I didn't stop for about two and a half hours. My heads all over the place. Just before Christmas, too... I wish I was feeling a bit more positive. I've been stable so long, I just hope it's not a "Bipolar Blip", as my Mum calls if. Sad

pickle162 · 02/12/2016 19:29

Sorry to hear your struggling caution xx

Amh went fine, just the blood test today.can ring wed/thu to get the results.
I've booked my 1st consultation Smile for 13th Jan Grin
