AF just starting....keeping fingers and toes crossed it's as nice as last months was!!!!!

StorkAhoy · 22/11/2016 21:31

kwick oh heck, are you ok?

shoes I know, right? Practically I know it, but I still felt really disappointed this morning. I thank you for your support and perspective. I'm sitting binge watching Modern Family and scoffing avocado! And feeling lots better. Xoxox

pickle162 · 22/11/2016 21:32

Keeping everything crossed for you stork
Sorry to hear you've had bad news at work kwick hope ur ok.
Hope everyone's TWW is going ok xx

Karendvm · 22/11/2016 23:34

Ahhh stork. That one egg will hopefully nestle right in. I'm sending good thought a your way. You have very good odds for success.

kwick hope you are taking care of yourself. Work issues suck. :(

Had major cramps today. Way earlier than I would for af, so not sure what that was about. One day at a time.

INeedNewShoes · 23/11/2016 00:09

Karen - cramps could be a good thing. Maybe your egg is nestling in! Smile

Or, if you prefer the doom and gloom approach, yep the cramps could mean that AF is on its way and you're cramping early because its going to be the AF from hell.

Take your pick Smile

Sorry, I'm probably not being very helpful. The TWW is just horrendous. It's impossible to avoid symptom-spotting, hoping, doubting. Every TWW for me has been a constant battle of the hopeful voice in my head vs the doom and gloom voice. I hope you're coping ok.

Karendvm · 23/11/2016 00:28

Ha ha shoes. I keep going back and forth between hope and doom and gloom. It's kinda like "oh, maybe that means......nope, nope, stop. It's just period cramps." You are being helpful, believe me. You being pregnant gives me hope.

INeedNewShoes · 23/11/2016 00:52

Karen - I'm so pleased to be of use Smile

To further give you hope, I'm on another thread which I'll find a link for at some point, full of women who are pregnant after having suffered miscarriages. That thread is what gives me my hope because there are women who are 20 weeks, 24 weeks, 30 weeks etc. with pregnancies that are progressing well despite MC in the past.

I've got my 16-week midwife appointment tomorrow. I'm nervous because I had a whole week without aspirin (which I take to thin my blood) last week as I couldn't keep it down after the sickness bug. I'm just hoping my little foetus weathered the storm and that I'll hear a heartbeat tomorrow.

INeedNewShoes · 23/11/2016 08:02

Pez - I use the cheap OPKs alone until the day before I think it'll go positive and then I add the Clearblue tests for around 5 tests per cycle.

It's important to do that. I've had cycles where the cheapie only looked about 95% at the point the Clearblue gave me a smiley.

The smiley tests are easier to handle because there's no wondering whether it's positive or not! Definitely worth the expense.

Karendvm · 23/11/2016 15:11

shoes best of luck with the scan. I hope everything is progressing well and you get to hear a lovely heartbeat.

StorkAhoy · 23/11/2016 15:24

Thanks for all the support Ladies!

I had a good sleep and have been on sofa watching comedies all day! So far Ted2, Wedding Ringers, Grimsby and Borat..... im laughing lots which is supposed to be good!

And good I really want to go for a walk, but I'm under orders from my acupuncturist to chill for a couple of days. She hasn't been wrong so far, so I'm listening!

Good luck shoes! All is crossed for you!

karen thanks and my appendages are also crossed for you and Kwick!

Xoxo

INeedNewShoes · 23/11/2016 16:24

Thanks Karen and Stork Smile I heard a strong heartbeat and even heard the baby moving (it was just a doppler rather than a visual scan). It's such a relief. I feel more confident now that I know my baby was resilient enough to survive me being so ill!

kwick · 23/11/2016 16:35

I am fine just really Angry about a decision that has been made which I do not think is right. Nothing I can do so I will just have to suck it up.

Mum and I are in Valencia this pm to meet up with an old friend of mine - which will be nice.

Leaving tomorrow - most furniture updates now complete in flat - just need to connect new TV.

Yes I agree: shoes and taydex are our ray of hope - and anyone else that got upduffed through IUI or IVF!!! In fact the friend I am meeting today did IVF and has a lovely son of 11 Grin

shoes this is amazeballs news!!! I am so so pleased for you and glad that I did not check the thread earlier as the suspense would have killed me!!!

So how about we do a list of OTD?
kwick 2 Dec
stork ???

Well my clinic wants me back at 18dpiui which is November 30th. I'm going to ask my go for a beta this Friday. If I'm not pregnant I want to stop the progesterone and look forward to my next cycle. I did start my period even while on progesterone with my last iui, but I'm on a higher dose this time. What do you think? push for the earlier test? Next cycle I plan to lie to have the iui done sooner. Or maybe just take the trigger even if I have more than one follicle.

StorkAhoy · 23/11/2016 16:59

If OTD means official testing day, then the 8th December..... and that's two weeks and two days, just sayin'.....

StorkAhoy · 23/11/2016 17:01

Yay, shoes, lovely message! Xx

Pez82 · 23/11/2016 18:10

Thanks again shoes re testing advice, all makes perfect sense

So pleased for you the scan went well today!!

So much suspense on this thread, next week will be high in emotions - fingers crossed all positive ones Smile

I got my appointment mixed up this morning and queued outside the wrong surgery at 7:30am to get the blood tests done - silly me. New appointment booked for Friday

kwick · 23/11/2016 21:02

karen will this friday be 16 days post IUI - that should be in plenty of time to test if you can get a blood test so much the better. amazing you have not tested yet just saying Wink

Karendvm · 23/11/2016 21:19

kwick I've been testing. Gotten negatives. I'm 11dpiui today. So only 13 on Friday. I just don't want to keep going on progesterone if there is nothing happening.

pickle162 · 23/11/2016 21:46

Yay glad all went well today shoes so lovely to hear everything's progressing x

Karendvm · 23/11/2016 22:08

shoes I'm so sorry. Totally missed your wonderful news! I'm so happy things are going well. Must be such a relief for you. X

kwick · 23/11/2016 22:09

Are you using a FRER karen? I would go to day 15 at least and then if still BFN then stop progesterone.

I met my friend today in Valencia who did ivf at 39 @ a clinic that then (10 years ago) had a 70% success rate!!! I am thinking that if this time and next does not work I will seriously consider Spain for treatment. I think the law governing magic potion is different too - which would make such a difference for me.

OP posts:
StorkAhoy · 23/11/2016 22:21

Kwick that's really interesting, so you should also consider Cyprus, they do the genetic testing and have 80% success rates as they tend to use donor eggs, and also transfer multiple embryos. That's why the rate is so high there.

kwick · 24/11/2016 08:51

stork Cyprus is too far for me - it would be hard enough to factor in Spain to be honest. Also I can speak the lingo and it would mean donor would have a similar ethnic profile to me (I am half Spanish).
