I took a little stroll around the lake with the dog and cooking a roast at the mo, feeling tired, but all ok!

My jeans don't close anymore, I think it's the fun bloat. And started the pessaries. Well aren't they delightful?!

Xx

kwick · 19/11/2016 21:39

What pessaries are you taking? I only ever started with cyclogest until are transfer.

Did a count earlier if meds left and I do not have enough cyclogest to get me through thursday (when I fly back) so have devised following plan:
On monday call clinic and make an appointment for meds on Friday
On thursday, as soon as I get home, inject prontogest
On Friday get crinone gel

OP posts:
StorkAhoy · 20/11/2016 19:11

I'm on utrogestan 3 x a day. I had to start them 2 days after retrieval.

Looking forward to hear how the kids have behaved over the weekend....

kwick, how come you've been caught short on meds? Do you get a delivery per each cycle of treatment as part of your protocol?

kwick · 20/11/2016 19:16

No stork I generally pick up the meds at the clinic - only got a delivery when I did stimulated IVF.
When the Dr checked on my meds for the post procedure care I said I had quite a lot of cyclogest and would it be ok to use up first - she was fine with that... what I did not do - when will I learn???? - was check how long my stash would last for: duh!!! Anyway just be ok until I can get to clinic on Friday!!!

Absolutely shattered after trek to Spain - off to bed I will not mention that I have been symptom spotting like mad today

Hi ladies!

Sorry - I've been really busy sorting out the stuff for my forensic science course - so far I'm loving it!!! It's distance learning but have a year to do six assignments in - been doing it a week on Wednesday but already done the chemistry bit and half the biology bit for my first assignment... Just the rest of biology & the computing section to go and I can do my first assignment!
Oh, and I've managed to drop a stone (I think it's stress) - my BMI is now 34.8!

Kwick so glad you had your IUI done. When is your OTD? Take it easy during your TWOT... Eat lots of pineapple! Wink

Karen how's your TWW going? When can you test?

Stork 18 eggs with 10 thatve fertilised is AMAZING! Well done you!!! Shock when do you do embryo transfer?

Taydex, how're you and Mya doing?

Have a lovely week ladies. Xxx

CautionHormone · 20/11/2016 21:19

Oh, and I'm getting my tarot cards read tomorrow... Lets see what she picks up Wink

INeedNewShoes · 20/11/2016 21:40

Wow Caution - well done on the weight loss! That's a massive achievement Star and another Star for what sounds like a great start to your forensic science studies Smile

I hope the tww is bearable Karen and Kwick and good luck Stork for your transfer Smile

Karendvm · 21/11/2016 12:16

Hi caution. I am 9 days. Tested this morning and bfn, and I know it's early. I had sharp pains on day 7. Really trying to not symptom spot and keep telling myself it's al the progesterone and in my head. I do think the timing of my iui was terrible so hoping that my ovaries are cyst free and I'll be able Tom go forward with my next cycle. Hope everyone is doing well.

Karendvm · 21/11/2016 14:19

shoes what day were you when you tested positive?

INeedNewShoes · 21/11/2016 18:35

Hi Karen - it was the evening of 12dpo (having tested negative in the morning) that I got my first faint line.

You've got a few days to go before you can even start thinking that you're out!

Having said that, I would go for the doom and gloom approach - it worked for me Wink I highly recommend chocolate during the tww, just because it's yummy and makes us happy Grin I did an online order of my favourite, stupidly expensive chocolate for my two week wait just because it seemed right to spoil myself Chocolate

kwick · 21/11/2016 19:20

caution you go girl!!! Great news on weightloss - what's your secret?

karen that is way to early to test!!!

My OTD is 2 December

So all my new furniture got delivered this morning and assembled - and they took the old furniture away Grin. I realised I had only orded one chair so we trekked off to Valencia to the new IKEA (much swisher than any I have been to in the UK) and got chairs amd some "soft furnishings" so that rooms will photograph well.

Karendvm · 21/11/2016 21:01

Doom and gloom approach. That made me laugh. Must. Stop. Symptom. Spotting.

pickle162 · 21/11/2016 21:35

I will be awful about that-I do that now with the ovulation app! If I didn't know I def wasn't pregnant at the mo I would think I was currently my boobs are ginormous and hurt like hell!

StorkAhoy · 21/11/2016 22:30

Hello ladies, I'm super excited about tomorrow and have everything crossed that all goes well.

caution go on girl and your weight Loss! Bravo!

kwick eek, testing already, good luck!

I hope that pasted properly. Have you ladies seen this? I like it. It tells me not to test. Lol.

Best of luck tomorrow stork. I'm excited for you!

Pez82 · 22/11/2016 07:45

Morning all, great to read everyone is progressing well! Well done caution

I can tell I'm going to be like you, tempted to test too early, so thanks karen for the calculator!

I'm back in rainy London now Sad after spending a lovely time with my little nieces - so good to be able to practice changing nappies Smile

Question for you experts:
Do you know how long your LH surge lasts, I.e have you been testing even after you detected the surge?
I came home last night and was only on cd10 but with a lot of watery CM (sorry tmi) so tested and got a 75% positive, got the same again this morning so I guess it will be very dark tonight unless the surge happens during the day in which case the test could be negative tonight - is that right? I normally only get faint lines for a few days until I get one big dark one and then stop testing.

I'm using this month and following to get a grip at this before the real stuff but it's not that easy as you know. I'd like to get a rough idea of when I might ovulate in January so I can book work meetings accordingly Confused

stork, massive good luck today, it's so exciting!!!

INeedNewShoes · 22/11/2016 07:56

Hi Pez

The darkness of the test line tends to rise and fall within your cycle. Its not necessarily a case of it just gradually darkening towards a positive (For example, I always get dark tests around 60-90% darkness on CD 12/13 then it drops off completely to nearly nothing before coming back to a positive on CD 15/16).

Your surge will last long enough that if I would have thought if it turns positive during the day then it will still show positive when you get home this evening. But there's only one way to be sure. I carried around a tiny pot in my handbag (a Systema salad dress pot to be precise!) and some ovulation sticks so that I could test at work. Yes, its a faff, but when you're spending £xxxx on a fertility treatment you really want to make sure you know within a few hours when your surge started.

It is only the start of the surge that is used to predict when you ovulate.

Also I gather that the LH surge happens, then LH drops off a bit, but then it surges again after the surge (so if you were to keep testing then you would get a positive at the start of the surge, then the tests would go negative (probably the next day) then the test would go positive again. So you need to be really careful to know that you are catching the beginning of the surge and not the peak at the end of the phase.

Its really not as complicated as I've made it sound Wink but regular testing (every 4-6 hours) is the only way to know when your surge has started.

CautionHormone · 22/11/2016 14:47

Hey ladies - thank you sooo much for you well done wishes. You lot are happier for me than my real life family - they were all like "oh, ok" on my weight loss, and they haven't even mentioned my FS course - my auntie actually turned her back when I was talking to her about it!!!

kwick - 2nd December isn't too long at all!!!
My secret to weight loss is actually coming off all my daily medication, I decided I didn't need it anymore (and I needed to come off it anyway because of baby plans) so I spoke to my GP about it and we've been reducing it, and because they're all medications that put 'significant amounts of weight' on you, it's just come off... Plus I'm really stressed & worried about December - so I think that's a factor too.

Karen it's far too early to test my lovely, so don't get disheartened that it's a bfn! You're definitely not out yet - just stay positive :)

pez I agree with shoes... test every 4-6 hours and you can't go much wrong! You'll start to see what's normal for you xx

StorkAhoy · 22/11/2016 15:52

Hey guys,

So just got back. It wasn't super terrific news. Of all those eggs, only four got to blastocyst, and they weren't optimum quality. The rest couldn't even be frozen. So I had to choose to transfer one or two, each with a 49% chance of success, and with a 30% chance of twins.

I chose to transfer the biggest, best embryo, purely based in the fact that I bought two rounds of IVF, and if this one isn't my baby, then I have another round already paid up and will transfer two on that occasion. Mum was in complete agreement.

Now I am lying on couch after acupuncture and eating lots of warming foods with a hot water bottle in my tootsies.

Positive thoughts appreciated!
Xx

Pez82 · 22/11/2016 17:07

Thank you so much shoes, this is the clearest explanation I've seen to date! I'll see if I can find a tiny plastic pot with a very hermetic top that I can use at work and test every 4-6h - it's a small office so I'll have to be quite ingenious!

stork, 1 in 2 is a big chance and I would have made exactly the same decision in your situation. And with a good embryo you're so many steps ahead, it has to work! Look after yourself and that big embryo you chose could be the one!!! As you say there is always the backup plan of the second round so stay positive. Keep your mind busy and you'll be testing before you even realise

kwick · 22/11/2016 17:17

I am not testing yet.

Just got some really bad news from work - trying to process... Envy

Sorry pez after getting surge I usually have IUI

OP posts:
kwick · 22/11/2016 17:20

stork I know you are disappointed but it only takes one Grin now lots of PMA - that is an order!!!

OP posts:
INeedNewShoes · 22/11/2016 17:24

Pez - ooh I've learned a new word Grin (hermetic). The pot lid doesn't need to be hermetic because you just go to the bathroom, pee in the pot, dip the test, put the test on top of the test wrapper (so that its clean) on a flat surface like a windowsill or toilet cistern, throw the wee down the loo and wash and dry the pot in the sink while the test has a chance to lay flat for a couple of minutes. This is all a lot easier if you've got a cubicle with a sink in it as well as a toilet. I've done this in loos at work, airports, gigs. You just have to have no shame about being in the bog for five minutes Smile (After testing, I just slip the test back into its wrapper and stick it in my handbag and then check it discreetly at the ten-minute mark back at my desk or whatever).

Kwick - that doesn't sound good re work. I hope you're ok.

Pez82 · 22/11/2016 18:11

Well the Latin words always come first to my mind and I thought air tight didn't fit the brief given the substance Smile

Thanks for clarifying shoes. So far I've always waited for the sample to get to room temperature before testing but I've only been testing at home.

When it comes to timing the IUI do you also use the expensive POAS clearblue test? I was thinking of testing with both methods to be on the safe side.

Sorry to hear about work kwick

INeedNewShoes · 22/11/2016 20:26

Stork - sorry, I missed your post earlier.

On the plus side it sounds as though your clinic have been absolutely honest with you, which I don't think all clinics are. Just because the embryo isn't 'optimum' it doesn't mean it isn't a good one. They wouldn't do the transfer if there wasn't a good chance of it working.

(IUI ladies put a blindfold on for my next sentence. I'm purely in the business of making Stork feeling better here...)
Compare your 49% chance to the 18% average chance with IUI!

Now your job is to look after yourself, keep yourself happy and well-distracted so that you're not dwelling on the time that has to pass before you can test.

This thread is just bursting with TWWs at the minute. Its a wonder it doesn't explode with the suspense!
