pickle162 · 16/11/2016 22:13

I might have to have a binge sesh of I'm a celeb! I keep going to bed too early to see it or clashes with too many things
Masterchef oz is getting very exciting!!! But only 2days left Sad

StorkAhoy · 17/11/2016 11:14

I'm lying in a bed at the clinic post retrieval, a tad achey but have the best heating pad on me. Waiting to hear about numbers of eggs....

Hello all!

Karendvm · 17/11/2016 12:41

Thinking of you stork!

pickle162 · 17/11/2016 13:21

Fingers crossed for some lovely healthy eggs stork

StorkAhoy · 17/11/2016 13:59

Defying doctors thoughts, I have laid 18eggs! Will hear tomorrow how mature they are and fertilisation stats.

Now feeling a little beaten up and am very tender, and heading off to bed to sleep it off.

Xx

Karendvm · 17/11/2016 14:00

Congrats stork. Now enjoy your rest. Hard part is over. X

kwick · 17/11/2016 18:03

OMG stork 18!!!!! That is amazeballs!!! Well done you!!! I will keep my FX for you - lets hope you get lots of fertilisations!!!

So I am feeling a bit better work wise, tomorrow is going to be manic though - back to back meetings all day long which I could really do without but need to get done...
I slept really badly last night, may have been something I ate - although the Deliveroo I got was very yummy (and somewhat healthy):

  • watercress soup
  • baby squid, brussel tops and a cucumber salad
  • custard dougnuts with a rhubarb sauce

I did not manage lunch again so am planning a very nutricious dinner courtesy of Leon.Blush

pickle162 · 18/11/2016 11:58

Whoop whoop! Well done little eggs :) sorry ur still feeling a bit sore, just take it nice and easy. When are the egg/eggs going to be inplanted?

StorkAhoy · 18/11/2016 12:18

Thanks Pickle, we are hoping we can get to blastocyst stage on Tuesday!

taydex · 18/11/2016 12:35

Stork - 18 eggs and 10 fertilised is amazing! Well done you! Take it easy xx

StorkAhoy · 18/11/2016 14:01

thanks! alternatively using a hot water bottle and my dog as heat pain relief..

kwick · 18/11/2016 18:44

This is fantastic news stork!!! Have you decided what number you will transfer?
Take it easy - but know you have got of the worst (physically anyway) - the 2ww is agony but for other reasons!!

Had masterchef australia issues again (is it right that sky+ hd cannot record to things at once?!) so no spoilers please pickle!!

New fresh pineapple bought - the one I ate yesterday was not nice Angry just realised I will have to take in luggage on trip - we leave on sunday.

OP posts:
kwick · 18/11/2016 20:18

Just ate weight too much pineapple... oh well I hope it does the trick!!

taydex I am just sitting here, admittedly a tad stuffed, thinking what an inspiration you are to me, and I am sure to all of us on this thread.
Do you have any top tips you would like to share?

OP posts:
taydex · 18/11/2016 22:13

Hola Kwick - plenty to share (I can talk (type) for England...). Is there anything specific you think would be useful?

taydex · 18/11/2016 22:21

Top tip #1 - Listen to the advice re what to do/eat during egg growing and the dreaded 2WW, and follow it as and where you can, but don't stress over it. The cycle that worked for me was the one out of the five (seven) where I was convinced that it hadn't worked - this led to me being much more chilled out and not as anal about all that. I flew twice, had caffeine and even a glass of wine during my 2WW (bad mama). It could just be coincidence...

Disclaimer: Apart from my own experience I have no idea what I'm talking about! Smile

taydex · 18/11/2016 22:28

Top tip #2 - You can never ask your clinic (or us) too many questions. And no question is a silly question. The clinics do IUI/IVF all day every day and forget that we don't always know or understand what's going on. It's always good to feel you know what's going on and be informed. It's your body and your future.

Also query your clinic if you're not sure what they're doing/why they're doing it/timings/etc. I did and got the timings changed for my last cycle (this may have involved a little white lie on my part...) and hey presto, I now have a baby. Coincidence? Maybe. Who knows?

kwick · 19/11/2016 06:46

Thanks taydex keep them coming!!! So you did IUI 5 times?
Please tell me I had perfect timing: I still had not ovulated when they did the IUI, but I had taken the trigger about 17 hours earlier?

OP posts:
taydex · 19/11/2016 08:55

Yes, 5 rounds of IUI plus a further 2 where the clinic over medicated me and caused me to ovulate too early so cycles got cancelled.

Your timing sounds fine to me Kwick - Don't forget those little wrigglers can last 5-7 days inside you, whereas egg is only something like 24 hours (I forget the exact numbers now), so this is definitely the right way round to do it x

StorkAhoy · 19/11/2016 13:45

Hello all!

Loving the tips Taydex!

So, all 10 fertilised eggs are dividing happily so we are pushing forward to Tuesday for blastocyst stage, which I'm pleased with.

kwick re number to be transferred, my preference is one high grade embryo. Twins on my own would be tres tricky!

Had a bit of a wobble and felt so sick and horrid, mum nearly brought me to the hospital! But I was fine, I think I overheated, too many hot water bottles!

Hope all is well for everyone?

kwick · 19/11/2016 16:41

stork please take care! And great news about the embryos!!! StarStarStar

It is fricking freezing!!! Want to get home so I can get my feet on a hot water bottle!!!

OP posts:
taydex · 19/11/2016 16:43

I'd agree with the one high quality embryo transferred Stork. Having just one to deal with on your own can be pretty hard work at times. Totally worth it but hard work at times none the less.
