Hello! Anyone thinking of ttc number 2? I have a 6 month old baby and don't want a big age gap between babies. AF has been a bit erratic over the past few months but DH and I have decided to make next month the first month of ttc. Anyone else sort of in the same boat?

Welcome newly Smile

18dpo. This should be 2-3 by now surely?

I thought it would be reassuring to see 2-3 weeks and really thought it would have changed by now SadConfused

I've seen so many people worry about the clearblue digital tests on various threads. I'm sure they're not that accurate and people are still getting 2-3 at like 7-8 weeks. Try not to worry. Or do the HCG blood test on that website.....!!

Sonnet18 · 24/08/2016 07:30

Aw sorry purple. On to next cycle and at least AF wasn't too late and had your hopes up too much.
tuna I'm sure I've asked before but what date did you get your first 1-2 week test?

OP posts:
MrsY87 · 24/08/2016 07:35

Sorry to hear AF showed purple, hope your ok.

Tuna I agree with Malbec, I'm sure I've read other threads too where people say they aren't accurate. There is also a massive range for normal HCG at each week so it would depend on where in that range you are compared to what the test considers to be 1-2, 2-3 etc. Really try not to worry, easier said than done I know!

loztredders · 24/08/2016 07:38

Oh no sorry Purple. Fingers crossed for this cycle

loztredders · 24/08/2016 07:45

Tuna, the Internet is loaded with loads of people with the exact same worries about the clearblue conception indicator. The majority of them go on to have totally normal pregnancies. Try not to panic.
They should be banned!

Sonnet18 · 24/08/2016 07:51

I agree with the others- reason I asked the day of the first one (say 11dpo?) then you'd have been 1 week preg so today (at 18dpo) you'll still be 2 weeks preg. Don't worry

OP posts:
PurpleHaze1 · 24/08/2016 07:54

Tuna, I agree with the others - try not to worry, the CB tests are notoriously inaccurate!

I'm fine, I knew I wasn't pregnant so it's good just to be able to get on with next cycle now. I'm going to temp this month. Any tips malbec or anyone else who temps? I currently use ovia, should I use FF for temping? Is there a BBT thermometer you'd recommend? Smile

PurpleHaze1 · 24/08/2016 07:56

Did you get the results back from that website malbec?

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 24/08/2016 08:35

Thank you all so much.

I got the first one last Thursday, (12 dpo). But I hadn't done one before that.

I never panicked this much the first time round. But with my first pregnancy, the test lines got darker and darker. Which doesn't really seem to be happening this time round. I just have a horrible feeling and I can't shake it. I don't know why.

Thank you all for trying to reign me back in. I'm sure I'm panicking over nothing.

Malbec I hope you get your results ASAP. They should be in today right? Do you get them electronically?

Sonnet18 · 24/08/2016 09:16

It's only been six days tuna- you were very very newly pregnant at 12dpo. Lots of people still would get bfns then!
I think you're fine. Try not to do another one! When is your first midwife or doc appointment?

OP posts:
Sonnet18 · 24/08/2016 09:27

Cycle day 20 or 21 (can't remember!!) and I would say positive opk...now just need a luteal phase of around ten days and we are good!

Yay! Definite positive Sonnet! You'll have to get cracking in the bedroom :)

I know. I'm going to try and put it to the back of my mind. Worrying isn't going to change a thing.

Can't even call to book until 6 weeks. So I'll give them a call then and get booked in nearer the time.

Sonnet18 · 24/08/2016 09:52

Haha! Already on it...Wink

Oh, must you wait until six weeks? Where I am you get an appointment with the midwife as soon as you get your positive test. It's a bit pointless as they can't do bloods or anything but it's nice to go along for a chat.

Easier said than done about the worrying but you're right. It won't change anything but I do think you're ok. I think because you got your positive so early it will mean the beginning stages will be a bit longer (make sense? Does in my head!) try to relax and keep busy! That's my best advice!

Good to hear Grin

Yup, called them yesterday and they said they wouldn't want to see me until 8 weeks so to call back at 6 weeks and they'll book me in. What's the betting she doesn't have time for a booking appointment by then?! A bit frustrating, but as long as I've made it that far, I'll be pretty happy. And hoping to have my private scan at 8 weeks, so that will ease my mind a lot.

I forget - how long is your LP usually Sonnet?

Sonnet18 · 24/08/2016 10:55

Since having the baby my LP is around 8 days...before baby it was totally normal. I've only had three periods since the baby so hopefully it's just sorting itself out.
Private scan will be reassuring- 12 weeks is just soooo long to wait

OP posts:
wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 24/08/2016 12:17

Keeping everything crossed that this is your month sonnet!

Yes, should be able to go for a private scan in 4 weeks time. These early stages really drag don't they?!

loztredders · 24/08/2016 12:28

I guess I should ring doctors too as I'll be away from 6 to 8 weeks so won't be able to ring up for my booking appointment then so hopefully I can book it for when I get back!
Feeling quite liberated that I haven't peed on a stick today haha

Sonnet18 · 24/08/2016 13:08

Thanks. To be honest, it is the first month ttc and I wouldn't be that gutted if not pregnant straightaway. Just hoping either for a bfp or AF in about 12 days...not 8 days like before!

OP posts:
MrsY87 · 24/08/2016 13:29

That looks positive!! Fingers crossed for a BFP or at least a longer LP for you sonnet

Working from "home" at my DMs house today and haven't told her yet...feel like a naughty teenager keeping a secret from her! I would like to tell her but when I told her with DD she told so many people before my 12 week scan it makes me nervous this time, particularly with the spotting/bleeding I've had. Have any of you other pregnant ladies told anyone other than your DPs?

loztredders · 24/08/2016 13:37

I told my best friend today MRS but other than that we both want to wait as long as possible. Ideally until after the 20 week scan - I had a small bump last time so if this one's the same shouldn't be too hard to hide until then!

That's definitely positive OPK sonnet. Hope you've been doing lots of shagging these past few days and today and tomoz!!

Sonnet18 · 25/08/2016 06:53

mrs my mother in law was the same- told lots of people and made a big announcement at her birthday party...unfortunately that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage so needless to say when I was pregnant again I waited until after the scan to tell her!!

OP posts:
Sonnet18 · 25/08/2016 06:54

By the way, my post was in no way meant to imply anything bad will happen in your pregnancy...just re-read what I've written and hope it doesn't sound that way!!!

OP posts:
MrsY87 · 25/08/2016 07:21

My mum ended up guessing when I declined a glass of wine! I've sworn her to secrecy this time and I think she got it as last time she knows how upset I was about her telling people before I was ready to. Can't believe your MIL announced it at a party, that's awful! My mum just told her close friends and that upset me enough!
Don't worry didn't take what you wrote the wrong way! Smile
