Hello! Anyone thinking of ttc number 2? I have a 6 month old baby and don't want a big age gap between babies. AF has been a bit erratic over the past few months but DH and I have decided to make next month the first month of ttc. Anyone else sort of in the same boat?

Using up the left over OPKS..
This is what an OPK looks like at 4 weeks pregnant haha

Oh that's interesting loz. You really do love POAS! Grin

I think that looks close but not quite positive sonnet

MrsY87 · 23/08/2016 17:30

Haha loz you really are a POAS addict!

I feel like I'm hungover....waves of nausea, excessively thirsty and exhausted but that may be because I don't seem to be able to sleep past 5am Shock. How are you feeling? Any symptoms?

Looks pretty close to positive sonnet. Thanks for your firm words re scan early too, will wait til 8 weeks, don't want to put myself through seeing nothing because it's too early! Smile

loztredders · 23/08/2016 18:35

I know. I need therapy.

POASAA haha

loztredders · 23/08/2016 18:36

Yea small waves of nausea in the morning and intermittent light cramps on and off.

I didn't really get many symptoms until way past 6 weeks last time though so not expecting too much just yet

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 23/08/2016 19:07

Sonnet that does look close! Maybe tomorrow?

I'm not really having any symptoms yet apart from extreme tiredness. But that's pretty normal for me anyway!

I've got gingernuts stashed away in the cupboard for when the nausea kicks in...

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 23/08/2016 19:08

Oh an not forgetting the round ligament pain when I get up, sit down, sneeze or cough!!

It's usually worse the second time around apparently

MmmMalbec · 23/08/2016 19:20

Yeah getting closer there Sonnet!

Booo to the horrible hangover symptoms kicking in. I remember being insanely thirsty all the time from quite early on too. I was starving hungry, nauseous, exhausted, couldn't sleep, had a horribly upset stomach and also had heart palpitations a lot. Why do I want to do this again?!?!

MrsY87 · 23/08/2016 19:34

Oh I'd forgotten the heart palpitations Sad they really freaked me out last time!

MmmMalbec · 23/08/2016 19:39

I know me too. I went to the doctors about it because after climbing a few stairs I felt like I was having a heart attack, in the end he gave me a few weeks off work and said to rest! I could have kissed him Grin

Sonnet18 · 23/08/2016 19:42

Haha! how random are opk tests of theyre showing positive for you! However, I did hear that they picked up hcg too!
So I've re-tested and just waiting to see what it's saying...will post a pic in a few mins. It's been about 7 hours since my last test so I would hope it's a bit darker.

OP posts:
loztredders · 23/08/2016 19:53

Yes sonnet OPKS pick up hcg as hcg is basically the Lutenising hormone but with an extra bit added.
So an OPK would show HCG but a HPT wouldn't show LH if that makes sense.

A positive OPK is the only reason I thought to do a HPT with my last miscarriage. If had my period and got a positive opk on cd 5 and 6 so after googling I realised I could be poss preggers and yup BFP!

I'm still not back at work after having my little one although I actually wish I was working as it'd prob take my mind off it a little.

Im exhausted Although last night DD was awake every 20 mins from 2am until 5am so that's probably why. I ended up falling asleep on her bedroom floor then woke up later with my hip aching lol

Keeping my fingers crossed for a positive sonnet!!

Sonnet18 · 23/08/2016 19:57

Aw, what was wrong with your little one last night? when are you back at work?

OP posts:
loztredders · 23/08/2016 20:04

Teething I think! She doesn't usually suffer that bad though so not 100 percent certain it was that but thats all I can put it down to.

Ooh it's darker again isn't it. I reckon that you might get your positive tomorrow!!

loztredders · 23/08/2016 20:06

We've decided I'll be a stay at home mum for now. Hoping to go back to work when the new baby will be 1 ish.

It was awful being out of work at first and I wanted to go back to work when DD was about 6 months but I'm used to it now and try to make the most of it as I know how lucky I am to be able to stay at home with DD

Newlywed56 · 23/08/2016 20:06

Started trying this month for number two this month aswell . DD1 is just over 1 so I'm worried about the age gap being so small but I'm quite excited at the thought of another little squish as well! Flowers

loztredders · 23/08/2016 20:13

Welcome Newly!!

Sonnet18 · 23/08/2016 20:16

The shadowy picture was taken a few mins after the second one I posted (just to make things complicated!) so I reckon ovulation could occur maybe end of tomorrow into the next day or so...def by Friday. However, on such a late O date then I am expecting a later cycle...last month was only 26 days!! Nightmare!

Aw your poor baby! Teething really is awful. Mine is a bit too young yet for the full blown teething drama...but it's not far off!

Aw how lovely that you get to spend time with your baby (and next baby!) it's such a wonderful time. I'm still on Mat leave but will be back at work in the not too distant future...dreading it!

MrsY87 · 23/08/2016 20:28

MmmMalbec · 24/08/2016 06:46

Sorry Purple. Hope you're ok. On the plus side you've had a good LP and didn't waste a FRER Smile

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 24/08/2016 06:57
