Ttc number 2!

Hello! Anyone thinking of ttc number 2? I have a 6 month old baby and don't want a big age gap between babies. AF has been a bit erratic over the past few months but DH and I have decided to make next month the first month of ttc. Anyone else sort of in the same boat?

My GP did a day 21 progesterone test for me. I think she took pity on me, I was so stressed out and my LP was short 9-11 days. All came back normal. Fingers crossed for good results ASAP Malbec

I know I think my GP isn't right with not just giving me a progesterone test herself. She sent me for other blood tests but didn't include that. Have you conceived with a 9-11 day LP then Tuna?

My LP was anywhere between 9 and 11 days when we were TTC my DS. And I still got pregnant with him. So it does happen.

Seems to have evened out more since I had him. But sounds like it's gone opposite way for you.

But definitely possible to conceive with short luteal phase

And now I think about it - had v short LP last month (when we weren't trying). Period came 4 days early!

I definitely think it's possible to conceive with a short LP, mine has been between 8-10 days since I came off the pill in March.

That's really interesting Malbec, I had no idea you could get tests done online, fingers crossed you have a good result.

I also retested this morning Blush agree we really must stop! Still said 2-3 weeks rather than 3+ but I'm taking comfort in the fact the weeks hadn't gone down!

Saw GP this morning and she was reassuring that as I don't have any pain or tenderness and bleeding has stopped with the odd bit of spotting it's likely nothing to worry about, she's going to refer me to EPU but as its still early days will likely have to wait until next week for them to see me in any case! Good thing I have a busy week at work and we are away this weekend to keep me occupied!

I suppose with the LP it's all to do with when implantation occurs? Ie if your LP is less than 12 days then the window of opportunity for successful implantation is smaller than someone with a LP of 14 days. So it is still possible but it reduces your chances. Iyswim?

I'm annoying myself by googling to see if it's possible to get a BFN at 11dpo & still go on to get a BFP! I need to stop torturing myself & move on Confused Hurry up AF!

Purple don't give up hope yet! With DD I didnt get a positive on a FRER until CD34 when I normally had a 30 day cycle and even then it was a squinter! So your still in with a chance...fingers crossed for you!

Purple Just looked back at FF from when we were ttc DD, tested on CD32, negative and then tested on CD34 and got a positive but as I said it was a squinter, I remember waking DH up to see if he could see it as I was so unsure! so it is possible it shows up late! I wasn't using OPKs so not sure exactly when I ov'd but had a pretty regular 30 day cycle!

This time I didn't test until 19dpo as it was only when I didn't really fancy a glass of wine so I thought something might be up so don't worry about the lack of symptoms!

I didn't get positive until day after AF both times I was pregnant so that would've been around 12ish days past O...back when I had a normal luteal phase of around 10-12 days! The 2ww wait is the worst but I think the few days before AF shows up are just dreadful! And you know this will be the month that your period is late...just to torture you further!

Purple do you know you definitely ovulated? I can't remember if you're tracking? When I took things in with b6 I got EWCM and OPKs that could have been seen as positive (control and test the same) but actually didn't ovulate until about a week later. Hopefully that's not the case for you.

Interesting about everyone's LP. I wish I'd have just given my body more time to see if it settled down after the first bad month, rather than taking loads of stuff and clearly making it worse! To be honest though, I've had tiny bits of spotting first thing and then nothing for the rest of the day since it started. My GP friend said I shouldn't even call that spotting and it might actually be my cervix. Time will tell anyway.

So hard to have advice about the testing and worrying and all that because I know it well. I didn't do many tests but I did worry constantly. I really hoped it would be easier second time but you lot don't make it look like that! Pregnancy is damn hard!

Hope you get in to the epu mrs.

malbec that sounds like positive news if the spotting has stopped. Still keeping everything crossed for you this month.

I'm not temping (yet!) so it is possible I didn't actually ovulate. It's just a waiting game now I suppose...

It just seems to be there a little tiny bit in a morning when I check for it. Just a massive waiting game.

Hopefully you did ovulate but it's just the b6. Are you going to get some FRERs?

I agree Malbec ttc and pregnancy are so hard, I'd got really stressed about it taking longer this time than with DD and now I'm feeling so anxious about being pregnant, I suppose the stress and worry of having children will never end, even when they are adults!

EPU think its most probably just still implantation so said to call them if im still spotting at the end of the week or if it gets worse Confused going to book myself an early private scan I think.

An early private scan will hopefully put your mind at rest Mrs, I'd probably do the same. I'm sure everything is fine though, it's good that the EPU aren't concerned.

I'm in a quandary as to whether or not to buy a better test (FRER or superdrug)... Part of me wants to but the BFNs are so depressing Confused

Yeah exactly right Mrs. So stressful. I know I'll be the same when my time comes. Glad the epu aren't concerned but a scan sounds good. How long until you'll have that?

Any update from you Purple? I guess with a FRER you'll get a definite response if you ovulated when you think you did? But yeah BFNs are seriously depressing aren't they.

I had a bit more red spotting this morning. It's only been first thing in a morning since it started though so might well not see anything for the rest of the day today either. Very odd. 7dpo today so at least the cycle will be coming to an end relatively soon! I did a bit of googling and apparently it's relatively normal to bleed in a morning only because it pools over night and then comes out first thing. But what and why I'm bleeding I really don't know Confused

Mrs when will you have early scan? I think I'm going to go for one too. Probably around 18th Sep as that's when I'll be 8 weeks.

Sorry you've had more spotting. From what your doctor friend said yesterday, it's hopefully nothing to worry about. I can understand it making you feel a bit concerned though. Are you planning to test early or are you holding off?
