Ttc number 2!

Sonnet18 · 05/08/2016 20:10

Hello! Anyone thinking of ttc number 2? I have a 6 month old baby and don't want a big age gap between babies. AF has been a bit erratic over the past few months but DH and I have decided to make next month the first month of ttc. Anyone else sort of in the same boat?

Ooh Malbec and Purple, TWW!

Don't forget, the squinter squad are on hand for all your line-eye needs :)

lousylear · 19/08/2016 07:59

Hoping to get bfp soon. AF due Tues. keep getting bfn up to now but not giving up yet.

lousylear · 19/08/2016 08:00

Although it will be #4 not #2!!

PurpleHaze1 · 19/08/2016 08:05

I don't think my chances are very good this month malbec. Even without taking into consideration the short LP problem, we got busy CD10, 12, 14, 15, 17 then I ovulated on either CD19 or CD20. DH got a cold on CD18 so wasn't in the mood Hmm. Ideally I would've liked to sneak a few more sessions in but wasn't to be! How are you feeling about your chances? You definitely DTD at the right time so everything crossed for you! Smile

MmmMalbec · 19/08/2016 08:13

If you ovulated on cd19 then I think you're in with a good chance still. Which day did you get your positive OPK? The LP thing is very annoying though, does make you feel like your already slim chances are even slimmer doesn't it!

Yeah we definitely did really well with the right dates etc but I'm the same with the LP problem and I think my confidence is just totally knocked now. You'll know either way soon won't you! When will you test? The months I took the b6 in the vitamins I started spotting at 10dpo and then it developed in to AF at about 14dpo first time and second time I was pregnant so you might find you have a few days spotting before you know either way too!

PurpleHaze1 · 19/08/2016 08:19

Yeah the short luteal phase is a pain!! The last couple of months my period has arrived late afternoon/early evening on the Saturday so if it hasn't shown by Sunday morning, I think I'll do a test as I'll be 10/11 dpo by then. I've got a bundle of IC HPTs in the cupboard. If still no AF by Monday, I'll get a FRER or superdrug test.

I got a positive OPK on CD18 and then still had it on CD19, by CD20 it had completely gone. I had what I think was OV pains late on CD19...it might not have been that though!

MmmMalbec · 19/08/2016 08:36

Oh not too long at all to wait then! Yeah, like I said before I ovulated on the negative day but I guess everyone is different. What cycle is this for you?

PurpleHaze1 · 19/08/2016 08:40

I'm hoping I ovulated on CD19 as that's closer to the last time we DTD and it also gives me a slightly longer (still short!) luteal phase of 9 days. I was taking 200mg of B6 from positive OPK but reduced it to 100mg as of yesterday.

This is cycle 3 so still early days but I want that BFP so badly! What cycle is this for you?

I'm at work but really can't be bothered. Wish I could fast forward the next few days so I know if this is our month or not!

loztredders · 19/08/2016 08:48

Oooh good luck purple. When will you test??

MmmMalbec · 19/08/2016 09:02

Fingers crossed for cd19 then! Yeah I know what you mean. Well it's cycle 4, but I had one month with an 8 day LP and I bled for over a week before I finally ovulated on cd30 and last month I think we didn't DTD until ovulation day because I was on holiday so it's probably only really cycle 2. Very frustrating! But yeah I really want it this month too! Let's hope we join all the lucky people on this thread!

Why did you decide to take 200mg?

RubyFlamingo · 19/08/2016 09:18

Congratulations Tuna, Loz, and Mrs! Hope this is a lucky thread in that case, because I'm joining you too...

I'm 32, DH has just turned 38. We're ttc #2, we'll have quite a large age gap as our son just turned 5 years old last month. I wanted an age gap more like mine and my sister's, slightly less than four years, but that passed us by when we delayed ttc over the last 18 months or so due to some employment frustrations.

Cycle 1 now after coming off Microgynon (and Venlafaxine, ugh) and we're seeing how we do. I've bought some cheap opks (all in the name of Science! of course) just to suss out my situation as my cycle off the pill is not as familiar as my cycle while still on it!

Fx for all of us!

MmmMalbec · 19/08/2016 09:20

Welcome Ruby. What's the ven something or other that you've been on?! Fingers crossed for a normal cycle for you soon and a BFP obviously Grin

PurpleHaze1 · 19/08/2016 09:25

You've done everything you can malbec so really hoping it's your month! Smile

I spoke to a couple of people who had had problems with short LP but managed to fall pregnant. They recommended 200mg from positive OPK until AF/BFP and 100mg rest of cycle. I'm paranoid about delaying AF if I haven't conceived though so have decided to reduce to a more normal dose of 100mg even though AF isn't here yet.

RubyFlamingo · 19/08/2016 09:28

Thanks Mmm, Venlafaxine is an antidepressant. I was on the lowest poss dose anyway and I think it's still safe to take them while pregnant but I didn't want to risk it just in case!

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 19/08/2016 09:29

Welcome ruby!

Hope your cycle plays ball this month!

Malbec definitely think you've done all you can do. I have everything crossed for you for a BFP!

I'm having serious period-type cramps. You know that kind of fizzy burny sensation low down.

I'm hoping it's all normal pregnancy related stuff. But am a bit concerned.

PurpleHaze1 · 19/08/2016 09:30

Welcome ruby Smile

loztredders · 19/08/2016 09:36

Hey RUBY welcome to the thread! It does seem to be a lucky thread so far :-)

What are you classing as a short LP those who think their LP is short.

Mine is 10 days and I've had no problems conceiving and miscarriages have been unrelated to the shorter LP so I'd try not to worry too much about a short LP and chances of conceiving.
I actually think it was more 9 days before having DD.

I think aches and pains are nornal TUNA so try not to worry too much. I know I remember googling about period pains in early pregnancy a number of times!

Are you still planning on retesting again tomorrow

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 19/08/2016 09:41

Thanks Loz. I do vaguely remember having cramps in early pregnancy with DS.

MUST try to keep calm about stuff like this. Can you tell I'm a worrier?! :)

loztredders · 19/08/2016 09:44

I had cramps yesterday and thought for sure AF was on her way but nope.

Today I have a slight ache but again I think this is all normal!

PurpleHaze1 · 19/08/2016 09:46

I consider a short LP anything less than 10 days Loz This month it looks like I'll have either an 8 or 9 day LP. Reassuring to hear you got your BFP with a shorter LP though Smile

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 19/08/2016 09:48

wherethefuckisthefuckingtuna · 19/08/2016 09:49

I don't know why that posted twice Blush

Sonnet18 · 19/08/2016 10:26

I had cramps right up until about 20 weeks when pregnant! Midwife assured me it was normal so it is all fine! Relax and have a (de-caf Hmm) coffee!
Well, I've still not bad my positive opk so looks like I'm lagging behind a bit!! Only cd16 so I'm expecting a positive within next few days. I'm a short LP person since having baby so I'm not optimistic at all...

That was meant to say "had" not "bad"!!

Thanks ladies!

I class anything as less than 10 days short but I'd prefer for it to be above 10 days. Last month it was 10 days but with spotting before which I didn't used to have. How are you predicting your LP now Purple? It's supposed to stay the same isn't it even if you ovulate on a different day?!

Ah yeah that's the thing about getting your BFP, you are happy for a little bit and then the worry starts doesn't it. I worried like mad last time. Is anyone getting an early scan?
