There wasn't any more room for moaning with all those grinny smilies's eyes following me around the room.

Suspected (my own self-diagnosis) perimenopause, anyone?

beansprout · 31/01/2007 16:27

Duchesse - I actually like our hardline "don't try and cheer us up" ethos. It's why you started the hut in the first place. There are 100s of other conception threads where babydust can be sprinkled, just not this one.

Frankly, diplomacy aside, it's the sort of thing that I would expect from a 12 year old girl, not a grown woman. There, I've said it. Mobile phone charm, anyone?

duchesse · 31/01/2007 16:29

A cursory examination of other threads reveals that she has one small baby boy. She is probably still glowing from that. I ought to have cut her some slack but I'm a miserable cow today.

OP posts:
beansprout · 31/01/2007 16:30

Hey, it's why you started the hut in the first place. It's our founding principle. We are not just a group of miseries that have hijacked an otherwise chirpy thread. We do "wot it says on the tin". No more, no less.

duchesse · 31/01/2007 16:30

snort at "mobile phone charm". Only if it's pink Swarovksisiski crystal. Or whatever. You're in serious danger of cheering me up, Beaners, old thing.

OP posts:
beansprout · 31/01/2007 16:32

In that case, I'll scarper (I have to leave work now, ahem). See you later fellow doomster.

honeyapple · 31/01/2007 16:32

Could we not use the AF term on here either... I mean Auntie Flo... for goodness sake...does anyone in RL actually use this term? BD is another one. I know it is easier to use acronyms but babydance????? Do any of you actually BABY DANCE?? Where did all these abbreviations come from?

rahrah1 · 31/01/2007 16:35

Rah hides behind the corner... sniggering at Dutchesse and Beans attempts to defend the hut from babydusters!

beansprout · 31/01/2007 16:35

Actually, I hate BD too. And any genuine enthusiasm for it too, frankly, but maybe that is just me. AF I don't mind so much but then again, I am English, so ridiculous euphemisms about bodily functions are a speciality. That said, I really could live with "period".

seaside72 · 31/01/2007 16:40

duchesse & beansprout - thanks for defending us and the Hut from the babydust dousing!!!! Yes we are grumpy and mean and thats the way I like it. Sorry Debs - lots of us are lovely and friendly on other threads - just not here!

This is my only outlet for the extreme feelings of jealousy and despair that enter my thoughts nearly everyday! I need it to be mean in here.

Am feeling numb and despondent today - AF started yesterday - so here begins cycle 11 - FTC - had the big discussion with DH last night about whether to just give up for a while -( knowing full well I won't be able to) - but just testing - IYKWIM.

Am also already dreading possible visit next week to friends with one DS already and just about to drop #2 any day now,(and its a girl - too pukey perfect!!!) I think I will be visibly green

hmphhhh -

goingfor3 · 31/01/2007 16:41

Greedy - Any news about the blood test?

What's a period?

Impatience · 31/01/2007 16:45

You know, I'd prefer to say "I got my f'ing period again" than say it in code. Also I can only say inseminate rather than babydance, but what do you straight girls do: Put S-Club on and shag under the disco ball?

Am back from professional meeting as you can see. Poor Debs, she really was meaning to be nice, but we really do need our bolt-hole of gloom/doom/misery and general venting. If any of us ever manage to create a small screaming creature I'm sure we too will want to throw our arms around the poor ftc'ers. But, hey, we'll prob never have to resist, huh?

Pass me that spliff back for a quick drag, before I scoot off early. Thanks. Prob till tomorrow girls. Don't punch anyone. x

seaside72 · 31/01/2007 16:46

Ooops - dropped in an 'AF' in last post - apologies - I hate the baby dancing euphemism also, esp in the Hut - there is no bloody magic or dancing left in it for me!

Janus · 31/01/2007 17:00

Can I join?? Missed m/c in October 2005, started trying again January 2006, still nothing, a whole bloody year later. I do have 2 children and fed up with everyone (even the 'fertility nurse' I recently had to see) saying that I should be grateful for the 2 I have. I am, so really bloody grateful, they are amazing, in fact, so amazing I want another one but why should I always have to 'justify' why I so greedily want 3? I just do and it's bloody killing me that it's not happening. Period due in 2 days and judging by the awful, shitty mood I'm in I'm guessing it's coming bang on time.
Pass me a whole bottle of red wine please. Thanks!

duchesse · 31/01/2007 17:05

D'you know, I'm liking the Hut more and more every day...

OP posts:
duchesse · 31/01/2007 17:06

passes Janus a bottle of best claret with a straw in the neck

OP posts:
Janus · 31/01/2007 17:10

Don't worry about the straw, I'll just glug from the bottle! May do chasers of neat vodka too, swigged from another bottle, oh, one in each hand!

duchesse · 31/01/2007 17:12

I'm so numbed by it all I can't even think how many cycles we've been FTC. I used to keep track, back when I cared.

Let me add them up.

I suppose I can't count the three I was actually pregnant last autumn, eh?

Leaves only about 41 cycles.

Efuck, but I'm fed up with all this wasted hope.

On a positive side, I haven't had to bother with contraception for over 3.5 years. Which is nice.

Catbabymummy · 31/01/2007 17:13

Been lurking a while, but had to post. Yep I have to admit, I don't understand the euphemisms either. I SHAGGED my hubby last night. After spending 10 bloody minutes trying to get the pump on a new bottle of lube to bloody work. It was the Durex Play one. It's on BOGOF at Boots atm.
Hate my job atm, supposed to be avoiding stress and yet I just get more added on. Anyway, better get back to it.
Ooh and I'll levae you a packet of good sh!t to pass around

duchesse · 31/01/2007 17:15

Waves at Catbaby

Shagging is definitely a better word. I don't even want to do it any more though. It used to be fun, back when was the added thrill of possible pregnancy...

OP posts:
seaside72 · 31/01/2007 17:24

I know - I can't believe all the money and stress I have expended in past 16 years trying NOT to get/be pregnant - if only I had known there was no chance of it ever happening I could have had so much more fun

Debbsyandson · 31/01/2007 17:59

Again apologies guys didnt mean to upset anyone.I didnt even read your title,I just go across through the active conversations every now and again and sprinkle babydust as a sign of good luck its from the beanie days back in 2005,just wanted to offer support

Janus · 31/01/2007 18:17

Debbyandson, I'm sure everyone has taken your good wishes in the manner it was intended. From my perspective, sometimes I need to wallow in my own self pity as some days are so black. I don't want cheering up as I genuinely don't think anyone can cheer me up when I'm in one of these moods, unless someone can magic me pregnant. I don't speak to anyone in RL about how bad some days are (well sometimes dp) as I can't stand the thought of people pitying me when there is absolutely nothing they can do. Therefore, I think this is a safe thread to rant how unfair life is without anyone feeling sorry for you as they know how you feel. Saying that, I've only just joined today so could be completely wrong!

duchesse · 31/01/2007 18:22

No Janus, despite that entire bottle, you are completely right.

cedar12 · 31/01/2007 18:47

Hi every one,I dont no if any one else feels like this but I feel my lifes on hold at the moment until I get pregnant and get past 12 weeks. My sister inlaw phoned today and said you sound brighter this time than after the last ectopic. Felt like punching her she made my life hell last time as she was pregnant at the same time and wasnt very sensitive to say the least, saying feels like this baby just dosent stop moving its so lovely and then later on how awful it was being so big and pregnant and her crap she felt. Never mind how crap i felt. Cow.
Been worried all day that this ectopic has buggered up remaining tube. Probabley has bad things happen in threes.
Not sure whether to try again straight away Dr said it was ok but my mum thinks I should have a brake.
Greedy any news I hope you are ok.

duchesse · 31/01/2007 18:51

Cedar- I think that if you feel ready and your doc can see no objection, and you feel you could handle another disappointment, I'd go for it. Most people seem to jump straight back on that particular horse. Your mum is probably worried that you wouldn't cope if you had another mishap.
