Morning - definitely in too good a mood this morning for the hut - not sure why the good mood, but not going to question it while it lasts!!

Anyway, 37.83 this morning, so up a little from yesterday. 11 DPO (well 11 days high temps - when do you count ov from, the day before temp rise or the day of temp rise?)

speak later

I think we need to consider a new thread.. as this one is LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Greedy - ummmmm St. Lucia, how nice and what a nice mum taking the kids! I thought it was first trimester and third trimester that flighting was questionable. But not sure..I would ask your doctor.

Ready - have a good birthday! and phew read your essay! How do you look at other peoples charts?

londonlottie - personally I would get a new dress... a really slinky one for the hot climate..You may then feel ok about letting go of your other dress. I would also keep it quiet...Keep as lesser pressure off the situation. I know its hard but it will be so special. It is also great as it will be so different from your original plans, so there will still be lots you can do but differently..

minxi - thanks for the advice on the big O... Hope you have a nice day with DS and you could pinch some of his choc's from his party bag... bad mother!

angelfire777 - hope you can keep up with all the chat on this thread... we love to chat!

honeyapple - never been to Croatia, went to
Yugoslavia before it became the civil war.. it was beautiful. And I think that hunky doctor off ER is from there!!!! sexy!!

Mum03 & iwill - not heard from you 2 today, hope you are both having fun..

Catch you all laters

Did you know you could get an ovulation dip if you were pregnant?

Is there such a thing as an implantation dip?

There is a great interest in identifying very early pregnancy signs on charts. Which signs can tell you that you might be pregnant? Which are meaningless? To try to answer this question quantitatively, we have run some statistics on a large sample of charts.

One of the most controversial and puzzling potential signs has always been a luteal phase dip. There has been a lot of speculation about the significance of a temperature dip in the days after ovulation around the time implantation would be expected. We wanted to get to the bottom of the issue and find out once and for all if seeing a dip in the luteal phase, around the time of expected implantation, increased the probability of pregnancy.

Here is what we did:

  • We ran a full statistical analysis on 116,691 charts recently processed by Fertility Friend, both pregnancy charts and charts that did not result in pregnancy.
  • To be considered as a dip, charts had to show a significant single dip that lasted a single day, occurring between 5 and 12 days past ovulation.

We used a minimum dip size of 0.3F. We also ran the test using several pattern recognition algorithms to validate the correlation independently of the method of measurement.

Here is what we found:

  • 11% of charts that showed ovulation but did not result in a pregnancy displayed this pattern.
  • 23% of charts that showed ovulation and did result in a pregnancy showed this pattern.
  • Of the pregnancy charts that showed this pattern, the most likely days for the dip to occur were between 7 and 8 days past ovulation.

The data suggest that this pattern is indeed more likely to result in a pregnancy.

Remember, though, if you have this pattern, it does not necessarily mean that you are pregnant. It is just increasing your probability.

No matter your chart pattern, you can still be pregnant as long as you have well-timed intercourse within your fertile time. In the end, the only way to really know for sure whether or not you are pregnant is still when you can reliably take a pregnancy test.

Thanks for all the good wishes! I've removed my name from the temp list, as my temp dip yesterday was indeed followed by my period arriving first thing this morning.
I'm off to lurk now! xxxx

seaside72 · 10/02/2007 17:35

Have lurked on this thread the past week since I have been temping this cycle - just to see what everyone else temps look like - I am new to this temping lark

Anyway - while I am gatecrashing : Happy Birthday Ready
also thought I could give londonlottie some support ( as you have done fo me on other threads - and our DP's seem to be soooo similar) Not sure of your whole story re wedding but if it is any comfort (prob not) it took me 3 years and a lot of heartache and stress and crying to finally get my DH up the aisle. ( we had been together nearly 11 years by the time we finally wed)

OK -I admit I am a bit of a control freak - but it suits him well enough the rest of the time when I organise everything in our lives and him!! I had to wait and wait until he was ready and felt like he could do it - ie pretty much after all his friends had already gotten hitched and started to tell him to get on with it.

I think the key to our similar men is to try and make them think they are in control, making the decisions (even though we know better!) In the end we got married but really it was a long hard slog to get to that point on my part.

Perservere (sorry spelling? have gone blank!) and you will get there.

Also - re your dress - maybe get a new slinky beach style dress for possible caribbean ceremony and then save your original dress for the lovely blessing/party you could have after you get back - married - to celebrate with all your mates etc ?!

Sorry to gatecrash - off back to the other threads! Good luck all

Ouchh - lottie - can only imagine what a nightmare you have had. TBH I did worry about my DH doing that too but we had so many crises in the week before the wedding I think he kind of forgot about his own worries and the next thing he knew it was over!

I am afraid to say it looks like the only way is to leave it with him completely. maybe he is testing you a little - now he has thrown the idea out there he is sort of waiting to see if you pick it up - if you don't maybe he wil be surprised and get on with it?

I guess it is a bit like TTC - try and not to get your hopes up (impossible I know) and if it comes together great and if not there will be another way.

I seem to remember you saying something about working away for a few months - maybe that is just what he needs to realise how much he wants to be with you and be married. I know when I used to be away a lot for work my DH was always way more loving and receptive when he missed me!

fettle · 10/02/2007 19:47

Hi All

Happy Birthday, Ready!!

Lottie, fingers-crossed for the wedding - sounds great!

Forces sweetheart - sorry to hear about AF - if its any concilation, my DH was away last summer for 5 months so TTC was on hold for then. Whether it was the self-control on his part and enforced lack of alcohol for the time he was away, we conceived both cycles since he got back! Keep talking on here though, I found it helped pass the time.

Rah - hope Wales is not too wet today - did you get lots of snow yesterday!

Greedy, I don't think there is any firm guidance on flying early in pg, but I have a friend who was on IVF and she was told not to fly for first 12 weeks, as it is not worth the risk. My mum is convinced that's why I mc in December as we flew to France, but it could also have been the altitude in the alps. TBH, I think there is no hard and fast rule about it - most cabin crew are not grounded immediately, so if there was anything in it - they would know. Enjoy it!!

Hope everyone else is doing ok - sorry for being so short, not got much time at mo.

x

Sorry I am late tonight, I seem to have missed so much today.

Happy Birthday Ready...

Nice to see some new faces here : angelfire777, seaside72,

ForcesSweetheart: sorry to hear that af arrived, hope that the next few months off ttc help.

iwill - congrats and hope that you are able to decide about the new job offer. On the ffriend chart the white dots come up if you temp at a different time or put in something that could affect your temp eg drinking the day before, or sleep deprived... hope this helps. I notice from your chart that the big dip was on a day you did not note for wine,,,, this would have an effect, so perhaps you have not yet missed the chance yet?

Minxi - you asked when I would be testing, well I have promised Ready that I will not test until 2 days after af due, of course with my variation in the possible o-date, that makes it a little confusing, but I will stick to the idea that af is due on 15th so I will be testing on the 17th if af not arrived, I hope that ready lets me get away with this! Hope you get your tv and choc's night tomorrow night.

Lottie - you said "It's in my nature to just want to ORGANISE once an idea has been formed, but in this instance I need to just step back and let him make the moves." - listen to yourself and let him organise it. It is difficult, but I soon learnt that trying to do things to speed along things with my fella was counterproductive. Let him lead, these men like to feel like they are in charge. They like to feel like they are the head of the household, whether or not they are. Sorry if that sounds a bit harsh, hope you don;t take it that way. He will surprise you and you will enjoy your wedding even more that way.

rah - you may or may not have o'd but hope that you are enjoying your lazy mornings in bed (or maybe not so lazy!!!)

Honeyapple - hope that the next few days bring a happy high-temping surprise to go with your positive thinking.

angelfire777 · 11/02/2007 01:30

Thanks for all the welcomes!!!
Rahrah1 I will be interested to see what your results are for your thyroid.
Ready, thanks for the info on NORMAL TEMPS - feel greatly relieved!!
I have still more questions!!!! I got a new test that has just been released called Fertell which tests that your eggs are good quality (as I am no spring chicken) and also comes with a test that checks if my partners sperm is motile. Its brilliant as its 98% accurate.
My question comes from the fact that it marks the first day of your cycle as spotting(also phoned up their help line to get it confirmed) and not full flow red as with the book I am reading on fertilty and charting. What do other people use? Also do some people just come on full flow? I always just come on 2 days with just a bit of blood before full flow? I would appreciate any help as I am a bit confused!!

good morning all.

angelfire - i have no idea what to suggest. where did you get the tests from? all the info i have read have said cd1 is full flow blood not spotting. maybe though to do the test you have to count cd1 as spotting? sorry ive been as much use a chocolate fireguard!

minxi - glad to see your dp is obliging! my temps have been wacko this month and i am no temping expert whatsoever so il leave it for someone else to answer!

we went for a lovely meal last night to a buffet chinese, but you choose from a menu what you want and they cook it fresh. was fantastic! apart from when i needed the loo which was next to the kitchen and there must have been oil or grease on the floor and i literally did the splits in full view of restaurant

has nice chat with dp too to ease my mind a bit...( i think i posted this on another thread with regards to going to docs and he said i had the problem etc) well he confirmed he doesnt think i am infertile he was just "joking" and he said the reason i havnt got pg is cos we havnt been trying. so i think thats a bit reassuring that a) he is on my side and b) he isnt aware of my tactics to get him to bd

does that make sense?

mum03 · 11/02/2007 10:20

Have started a new thread as it take me about 5 minutes with my old dial-up computer to get to the point where I can post a message!!!! I will try to put the link here, but if I fail I am sure ready will come to my rescue again!
