Morning - definitely in too good a mood this morning for the hut - not sure why the good mood, but not going to question it while it lasts!!

Anyway, 37.83 this morning, so up a little from yesterday. 11 DPO (well 11 days high temps - when do you count ov from, the day before temp rise or the day of temp rise?)

speak later

Hiya, no temp rise yet for me... I think I should OV today or tommorrow??? Been having slight OV cramps (or just imagining it) quite a bit of EWCM yesterday. Shagged last night, and lay with pillow under bum for quite a while.
Mum03- temp does seem to have risen...any EWCM?
Minxi- temp looking good!

mum03 · 02/02/2007 09:29

Have shagged dh only once, but once is enough right! My dh works away from home half of each week, and then.... hey why am I trying to excuse our lack of effort?!?!?! Have been having ewcm for the last 3 days, I always get plenty of it! I think that the temp shift shows that I have ovulated, but should I attack my dh and get another deposit tonight or is the start of the temp shift say it is too late? Anyone advise?

rahrah1 · 02/02/2007 09:40

I think the temp shift happens after ovulation,,, but worth a go!

honeyapple · 02/02/2007 09:41

I wouldnt think it would do any harm to get another session in if you can! The egg can live up to 24hrs...so its possible still.
How long are your cycles usually?

honeyapple · 02/02/2007 09:43

Hi Rah!
What about you? Hows the bonking going?!!

rahrah1 · 02/02/2007 09:49

NO signs of ovulation at all... I fell a sleep last night watching the TV... sexy!

I ovulated at around CD20 last month... so could have a few more days to go before I need to start jumping on husband!

I think last month we had been shagging since CD8.. so he worn out by the time I actually ovulated... so I'm hanging back a bit this month! Hopefully we can get a powerful squirt! LOL

fettle · 02/02/2007 10:02

Morning All!!

Glad to hear lots of bed action is going on!!

Mum03, it does look as if your temp is going up, but software won?t confirm it until you?ve had 3 higher temps than your previous 6 lower ones, does that make sense? Anyway, TCOYF guidelines, which we seem to follow (well put it this way I?ve conceived both cycles since reading her book!), says you should still have a session the day of the temp rise to ensure best chance of conception, so I would give it a go!!

Rahrah ? hope the reflexology is good. Although I?m a scientist and should be sceptical, I totally believe in its benefits. After having had a session, I decided to find out more about it and went on a training weekend to become a professional reflexologist, but then my life took a different course and besides I wasn?t entirely sure I could do everyone?s feet, only those with pretty and clean feet!!! Is that bad? Anyway, I really hope it works for you, there have been plenty of ladies on here saying that reflexology helped them conceive. My cycles totally changed after my 1st mc last year, but luckily for me, they made them shorter and more regular than normal for about 8 months (still didn?t conceive then though!).

Honeyapple , glad to hear things are going well. PMSL at your DH priming!!!!

LondonLottie, hang in there, when do you normally ov?

Minxi, still feeling positive for you ? that?s a good high temp for this stage.

Ready ? really looking forward to hearing from you today ? feeling very positive about you this cycle. Hope I?m right.

greedy ? How you doing? Anymore bleeding? Anymore symptoms? Hope DH was pleased with himself last night ? you really are a good wife, no way I?d volunteer my services if I?m not in the mood! Poor DH has to ask! I?m a bad wife!!!

Well me, temp still nicely up this am. Lots of weird dreams last night, could be because I?m hot. Still got cramping, but thanks for the reassurance Rahrah [I do so love all you girls for all your support by the way ? oh poo, I?m making myself cry now!!], so I suppose that?s the other symptom, I couldn?t stop crying last night! Also feeling more nauseous more often and I?m very conscious of my boobs, so I can?t deny that I am pg now, I just wish I knew that everything was going to be ok. I think you are right Rahrah, I?m going to ring the EPU on Monday and find out the score, whether I need to get referred by my GP and then arrange a scan for the following week, when I?ll be 7 weeks. Absolutely no point before, as that will just worry me even more.

Oky-dokey ? really hope I?ve not missed anyone.

Take care and enjoy your Friday!!

x

LondonLottie - 36.6 CD6 (4th cycle ttc)
Minxi - 36.77 cd32 / 12dpo (7th cycle ttc)
Mum03 - 36.7 cd13 (2nd cycle ttc)
Rah - 36.2 CD12(3rd cycle ttc)
Ready - 36.20 - below the coverline cd28 (5th cycle ttc)
greedy - tbc

Not really sure what to say. I am really disappointed, I know that my period hasn't actually arrived yet, due tomorrow... but that dip in temp to below my coverline (and the cramps for the last few days) can't really be explained away. I didn't sleep at all well last night, kept waking up every hour on the hour. Very strange. But I don't think it would have affected my temp enough to be hopeful.

I am sorry for being a moping, selfish bitch today... I just really hoped that this month we would crack it. Wasn't to be. Anyway, cycle 6 here we come. And I'll try not to say it too loudly, but I don't feel in the slightest bit optimistic... and that is so unlike me.

Thinking about peeing on some OV sticks this month...

rahrah1 · 02/02/2007 11:36

Ready - you can be a total sulky bitch if you need to be... you've earned it!
Last month, when I came on I felt horrible.. For some reason I had convinced myself I was pregnant, and it was indeed twins.. Its amazing how the mind plays tricks on you when you want something so much. I am trying to play it very casual in my mind this month... But have ordered O sticks as well...

Must admit that the shagging time has come round pretty quick this month, the wait has not been as long as last month. But I'm sure post ovulation will be a bit of a drag!

Just remember it will happen.. You are healthy and have regular cycles... so it will happen... It just unfortunately takes some of us longer!

Ready · 02/02/2007 11:47

I bought some OPKs from Boots (on special offer) and I was just wondering... if anyone knows. Can you wee into something and then dip the stick into the wee? Or do you have to hold it into the stream and hope that you don't splash your hand, the entire stick and completely miss the tiny bit you are meant to be hitting???

Ok, I feel SOOOOO sick right now, eurgh. And my face is totally flushed. Not pretty.

Rahrah, I can't wait to get back to some sex once my period is out of the way. And the intention this month is to do it as much as we can cope with

My optimism will return... it always does.

Thanks girls for being here.

mum03 · 02/02/2007 11:52

Ready - how do you manage to bounce back with positivity so incredibly quickly. Sorry to hear that you temps went down, but you seem to be ready to face the ol' hag when she arrives. That is one advantage of temping isn't it, sometimes you get forewarning. I won't spout the old "it ain't over til the fat lady sings" line at you, just hope we can see more positive results soon.

Ready · 02/02/2007 12:00

Mum03, I don't know really... is there an obvious difference in my tone then?? I still feel pretty sorry for myself at the mo, but I realise that there are people out there who have been through real trauma, and ttc for what will be 6 cycles, at the least, is hardly real trauma. It's not nice, mind, and I do allow myself a little wallow in self pity, but I just feel incredibly selfish for doing so.

I love this thread. And everyone on it. Some of the other threads have gotten a little bit too "fast paced" for me. I try to keep up, but there seems to be new faces coming and going all the time. And I have to confess I get when people test sooooo early. That's really mean of me I know. But I am in a mood today, I can't be held responsible for what I say

rahrah1 · 02/02/2007 12:18

The O sticks that I got (got them from the internet)... I pee a small amount into an old shampoo top... and dip it in ... Ummm nice

But last month I got some from boots and just peed on them as they were much better quality and more sturdy...

Depends how you can control your wee I suppose...

fettle · 02/02/2007 12:25

Ready, Ready, Ready, my darling! It will happen. But Mum03 is right, you do sound positive ? you do also amaze me with your ability to pick yourself up ? although I did spy you in the hut over the last couple of days!!

This probably won?t make you feel better, and I hope I don?t sound like a condescending older sister, but we started trying when I was 27 and it took 2 years ? BUT as you?ll have gathered, I only have about 6-8 periods a year, so my chances were limited compared to yours. Also as Mum03 has said at least you have the advantage of charting and being aware of your body ? for example, you know you are ovulating, you know that your luteal phase is long enough. I just want to give you a big big hug ? you are always so supportive to me and oh shoot, you?ve started me crying again and I?m at work!!

Have to go ? take care of yourself.

Can?t help on the ov sticks, I?m afraid.

xxx

ready - its horrible to hear you depressed cos you are normally sooooooooooo chirpy. isn't it shit that when af arrives (or is about to) she brings all these nasty hormones with her too, to make you feel even worse. its upsetting enough to have to deal with af when you are ttc, but mixed in with the pre-af hormonal crap feeling its even harder to deal with. only 2 more weeks till you will be fertile again! that will whizz by!
my ov strips were from the internet and were VERY cheap! i was thinking of sending to someone cos i still have most of them left, but i dont want to tempt fate! i think if i send them i will miscarry and then need them again. anyway, i wee into a shampoo lid too! how weird rahrah!

minxi - i think it is looking good for you, dont test again for a couple of days if you can hold off!

well.............i DID intend to be a good wife last night, but dh didn't get home from work till 10.30 and then we watched desperate housewives from the night before (how exciting was that by the way!?) and then it was gone 11.30 and i was KNACKERED!
i did tell him what i had planned though which was probably a mistake, cos now he will probably harrass me tonight! (could be interesting cos we have got friends coming round for dinner!)

i had some FILTHY dreams last night, which were GREAT and never involve my dh by the way! that is always a sign that we havent had sex for a while when i start having rude dreams. i think (actually i am sure) that this is the longest we have EVER gone without sex since we have been together. its been 25 days or so now! but i am still too scared at the moment.

Hello! Thought I'd pop in here and say hello as there seems to be a lot more action in here than on the chart spotters thread this morning.

Rah - sounds like your cycle's a bit similar to mine. I tend to ov around cd20-22 (looks like 21 this cycle).

This will be my last cycle ttc for a while, so if no bfp this time will have to find myself a good weight loss thread to obsess over instead.

Fettle, with my DD, because I'm high risk, I had a scan at 6 weeks (according to the 15 day ov dates, so in reality closer to 5 weeks). Got to see a little heartbeat at that, but I'd agree it's probably best to have a scan a wee bit later than that to be sure of seeing heartbeat. Good luck with the EPU.

Mum03, I think I read that BDing on the day of the temp shift is still worth doing due to the life of the egg. Especially if the BDing is earlier in the day.

Hope all's well with the rest of you. Sorry gotta dash, taking DD to GymBabes and desperately need a shower first.

mum03 · 02/02/2007 13:35

Fettle - hope you have a big box of tissues for all the tears, it is a good sign of strong pg hormones doing their job!

Greedy - I get filthy dreams when pg, they are amazing and feel so real! Perhaps that is part of the reasons I do want to be pg again!

Ready - I will need your help in a couple of weeks to stay away from testing too early, hope you are up for the challenge. In the meantime, wallow away in self pity for a few days if you want to, either here or in the hut, we will be here for you to moan at if you want to, it is definitely not selfish of you.

BBWBabeLisa · 02/02/2007 13:41

Oh just seen your post Ready! Been interrupted so many times while typing m post it took me about 2 hours to complete it, so missed all posts in that time. Sending big hugs chick. I know it's tough, and 6 months feels like forever. It took me almost 18 months to fall for my DD. You know we're all here for you, and I'm sure your spirits will lift soon.

Oh and I wee into a little tupperware container thingy, coz I wouldn't have a hope of hitting the stick (my huge tummy gets in the way and I can't see where I'm weeing never mind reach a stick into the flow acurately). Hope that wonderful mental image at least puts a smile on your face hunni!

Right I'm off this time!

MrsMcJnr · 02/02/2007 14:10

Ready, come over here for a hug! I know how you feel, been there honey. Try and tell yourself, why shouldn't it happen for me soon? I know it will and when it does, those 6 cycles won't feel like a long time anymore. Always here if you need a chat. Chin up!

Being a bit gross for a mo, peeing in a little clear container and then dipping the OPK in also lets you see if there is any EWCM there as it doesn't dissolve in urine

greedyforbabies - get this me and DH did not have sex for 7 months when I was pregnant! Poor bloke!
I can remember being particularly horny when I was pregnant in my dreams.. But it was not good for the bleeds... So try and clean that mind up of yours! Its a bit hard telling the doctor!

I was also like that with my tampax, I did not want to give them away or throw them out as I saw it as 'tempting fate'... so with you on that one as well Greedy>

MrsMcJnr · 02/02/2007 16:41

Are you sure Lottie? I always thought the sperm dissolved, that's how you can tell the difference between them. Don't have my TCOYF book to check either.
