Positive opk after a miscarriage

Hi, hoping someone a bit more knowledgable than me can help me figure this out! I had a medically managed miscarriage 9 days ago and have had strong positives on opks for the last 2 days. I know that they pick up hcg so presumed that this was just picking up left over hormones from the pregnancy. Today I had a very faint positive on a pregnancy test so looks as though my hormone levels are nearly back to normal, but the opk is still coming up with a strong positive. The pregnancy test is 10 miu and the opk 20 - so my question is this still just left over hormones when the pregnancy tests are getting lighter and the opks aren't?

I think that's it Mel, my positivity that it IS going to happen has gone a bit south after we weren't successful last cycle. Totally ridiculous given the odds each month, but I can't help wondering why we didn't catch and whether there's something wrong. Need to give myself a talking to I think!

Thanks Ali, helps to know I'm not alone in feeling a bit up & down. Last cycle I got a positive OPK on CD13 and ov'd on CD14. Not sure whether to expect the same this cycle due to the travelling & jet lag, wondering if that might delay ov? Plan is to probably DTD tonight, then definitely CD12 & CD13 & possibly CD14 if no positive opk until that day.

Looks like we're starting tonight as I have the ewcm. It's cd9 so a bit earlier than planned but don't want to miss it.

I think it's hard not to feel like that Bear. I keep meaning to do some mindfulness/positive visualisation stuff but never seem to get around to it.

Good luck Ali!

Can anyone else see a second line?

I am the crazy one who tests early and got a v v faint second line! So I don't know if it's something or nothing but it was there after 3 mins!

McBaby · 29/08/2016 07:38

9dpo so too early but I just felt sick all day yesterday and do again today!

Can you get false faint lines on frer? I have had faint lines before but not quite this faint! I guess I can't believe it might be true!

I think false positives are very rare, if you wait 48 hours you should get something on the clear blue weeks one I think? I liked that one as there's no interpretation.

My mc was on 4th July so nearly 8 weeks ago and my blood test was 5hgc on Thursday 19th August so negative :) but I haven't seen a negative pregnancy test since March! I just didn't test once blood was 5!

Glad your feeling ok blossom. I have always been a bit pessimistic in pregnancy and refused to buy anything for dd1 till I was past 28 weeks! I know my defence mechanism will be higher this time which makes me sad as it will be our last dc!

I will wait till wed morning and test again. I will tell dh then as he will think I'm a bit crazy otherwise!

Going to see the hypnotherapist this morning hopefully she can help keep me calm!

thatsnotmybear · 29/08/2016 10:04

Wow, I definitely see a line McBaby! FRER are the best at detecting v early. Fingers crossed for you!

Blossom, I love a CB digi, all looking good there!

Bee1234 · 29/08/2016 14:56

Hello ladies :-) yes Ali I'm still here! Just had a quick skim over the recent posts! My EDD is March 26th! Just a couple of weeks to go until I can finally relax and start to believe that it's happening!

Blossom and Mcbaby.. HUGE congrats to you both! Very exciting. ( Mcbaby I def see a line! And going by EDD I ov'd 2 days after my positive OPK )

Positive vibes for the rest of you ladies and I'm still holding onto hope for all of you! I know there must be good days and bad days. I can see now why the term "rainbow baby" is so fitting.. We really do have to get through the storm first! Wishing you all well.

Alibaba2 · 29/08/2016 15:45

Brilliant Bee! Have you got your first scan in 2 weeks? Are you feeling well?

Can you all have a quick squizz at the 2 opks I did today (top one = am, bottom one = pm). Would you say either is positive?

Obvs we will dtd tonight but just curious.

Panicking slightly as to why I'm ov'ing early but I did ov on cd11 in March when I got pg. Today is cd10.

I had an early scan at 8 weeks, and going again on weds for genetic testing.. They call it the Harmony test if you've heard of it, it's combined with the NT scan!

I've been feeling pretty rubbish but hopefully will start to feel better soon!

The bottom OPK looks like a positive to me :-)

McBaby · 29/08/2016 16:22

Bottom one looks positive to me!

I have been Panicking that it's a pretend positive most of the day!! And dr Google is not my friend too many stories of Evap and indent lines! But now I have the hideous metallic taste in my mouth so maybe just maybe it is true!!

jinglebellmel · 29/08/2016 16:55

Bottom one looks positive Ali.

Bee is that standard on the NHS or something extra you're doing if you don't mind me asking? Glad it's all going well, hopefully you'll be feeling better soon :)

Alibaba2 · 29/08/2016 17:06

Oh yes the Harmony test - it's private I think but definitely worth it (especially for older Mums like I hope to be Smile)!

Just having my usual ov panic and wondering why I'm ov'ing so early. But did have spotting for 2 days prior to AF which perhaps affected things.

The cycle before last was also ov on cd11 so perhaps not that bad. Just surprised! We dtd last night thank goodness and hopeful tonight will count too.

jinglebellmel · 29/08/2016 17:09

Bee, blossom, Mcbaby, which days did you all dtd on your successful cycles this time if you don't mind me asking? I know it's going to be different for everyone but would be interested to know X

OP posts:
jinglebellmel · 29/08/2016 17:10

If you're cd10 today then it could be you don't ov till 12 Ali, or that you are a bit further in than you think and the spotting confused things?
