pickle162 · 12/03/2016 16:03

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhh exciting!!!!

INeedNewShoes · 12/03/2016 16:25

Kind of makes sense. I don't know much about IVF but isn't if it's that you have formed embryos transferred then all they have to do at that point is implant to kick start the HCG, which is what a pregnancy test would show.

If you do start testing on Monday just make sure you're in a balanced frame of mind - a positive test may not stay positive (like mine didn't) and a negative could well turn into a positive days later...

CautionHormone · 12/03/2016 20:14

Kwick, that's good - and interesting! I did wonder myself whether you'd be able to test earlier considering you'd done IVF, because your egg is already fertilised!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for both you & Shoes :)

I think I'm coming down with something... My whole body hurts & my throat is swollen Sad

Kwick709 · 13/03/2016 08:37

caution keep warm and drink plenty of fluids! Flowers

I do not think I will start testing that early... Could not handle the disappointment...

Hey ladies 🌸 Sorry I haven't been on. I am still rather unwell, and I believe that I have not recovered completely because I continued to go to work. I am going to the doctor tomorrow, as I have been sick with the last 10 days. My son is now sick as well 😩. I hope you are all well & I promise to catch up with you all later this evening x

taydex · 13/03/2016 18:25

Hi ladies,

Sorry for the quiet, it's been a busy old weekend (and not stopped yet, we're just on the tube to London to see a comedy show!).

Kwik - We had also begun to think that maybe IUI wasn't all the good after all and then look what happened! It really can work guys, just stick with it.

I also love cleaning my car (very handy as I have a soft top which you can't take through a car wash). I find it pretty relaxing and you do get a great sense of achievement when it's done. That said I do struggle to find the time these days. that's just me being lazy and making excuses while I lie on the sofa watching shitty TV instead

Part 2 to follow..

taydex · 13/03/2016 18:32

Not long now for you guys having tests on 22nd (well, before then I'm sure, but officially...). I agree with Shoes, Kwik, you should really be a few days ahead. Please all make sure you're in a balanced frame of mind (if that's at all possible, I know I'd struggle!) if you're going to test early at all. I'm not in any way saying don't do it. I did it after all! Just beware the result could change either way that early.

Caution, Pickle - How are you doing? Boo - You take care of yourself. Get yourself better. In fact everyone take care of themselves. We all have to start being a bit selfish and thinking about number 1.

Enjoy your evening everyone. x

Cloudburn · 13/03/2016 19:03

Testing day on Tuesday. Decided not to test early this week. Though may do one tomorrow. Will see how resilient I feel when I wake up. I don't think it'll come back positive. Feeling pretty flat.

Hope you ladies managed to have a good weekend.

pickle162 · 13/03/2016 19:17

Oooh how exciting cloud, don't give on yourself hun,
I'm good thanks taydex, had night out last night where drank far too much then had to be up early for my new sofa. Ache like I'm 100yrs old-after doing a bit of weeding on Friday and cleaning the car yesterday-thank goodness for the new sofa as not sure I'd be able to get up off the floor. Did feel quite proud of my car cleaning efforts tho :)
Oh boo sorry to hear your still poorly, that totally sucks
Have fun at the comedy place taydex.
Hope everyone else ok
X

Kwick709 · 13/03/2016 19:25

boo so sorry you have been feeling unwell. Please take care of yourself & take it easy.

cloud you are not out until you are out! I know it can be agony... I am keeping my fx for you.

I went to yin yoga this pm which was a restorative class where we held positions FOR A LONG TIME... Feeling a bit tender in womble area (probably all in my mind) but I hope I did not do any damage... But it was a lovely class, will defo go again.

I have my progesterone level test tomorrow... I think whilst they are in there sucking blood I may ask them to check on thyroid again... More money I know (and I just got £500 bill for drugs - some of which were for stimming and I may will not need) but it would be good to know if I can stop taking at least one set of pills.

taydex · 13/03/2016 21:31

If it helps guys, I didn't feel any different in the cycle that worked. I had convinced myself it was another failure round. Hang on in there. You never know. As Kwik says, you're not out till you're out x

INeedNewShoes · 13/03/2016 21:59

I'm making a concerted effort not to symptom-spot. Not difficult as there's nothing of note going on at the moment!

The waiting is difficult. I've had a busy weekend but I have a quieter week ahead. I think I might have to fill my evenings with social things to distract me :)

Cloud got my fingers crossed for you for when you test whether it be tomorrow or Tuesday.

If any of you self-professed lovers of car cleaning want another car to clean, mine would certainly thank you for it. My little black car looks as though we have been away for a six-month muddy off-roading experience.

Kwick709 · 14/03/2016 08:50

That is the problem with black cars shoes, my Humphrey was also black hence the weekly bath :)
Happy to offer my cleaning services - I am in north London - only will need to wait until after 2ww and hopefully 12ww

Hello ladies,

Shoes - I agree re symptom spotting - it's definitely for the best. The symptoms I read about are also so similar to pre-AF symptoms, it's too hard to tell. For example with me... a few days before AF was due in the last cycle my b**bs were a bit sore and I got a headache. For me, both of these symptoms are classic AF is on her way and will arrive in a few days symptoms. But then a few days later I got a +ve preg test. All of my cycles I had similar - no different symptoms to what I'm used to. 1 cycle I didn't get anything, no pre-AF symptoms or anything and it was -ve. So, in my experience symptom spotting is not wise/doesn't reveal anything. That said, we are all different...

Cloud - Any news? Did you do the test yet?

Kwik - I'm on my way with my stinking car! Smile Think we'll have to drink coffee (decaf of course!) while someone else cleans it though!

TD x

CautionHormone · 14/03/2016 13:38

Hi ladies - hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Cloud, did you test?

Kwick, when do you get the results of your progesterone test? I'm going to sound extremely naive, but what's it actually for? Blush

Taydex, how was your comedy show?! I'm feeling a bit better thank you - my sore throat eventually came to nothing!

I go back to the doctors tomorrow (hopefully) to see what they say re small ovaries & the cyst, and to get blood results back. Oh & I thought Id check with them to see if my bloods for the FC came back ok because I hadn't heard anything since I had them done (HIV, Hep C & B and Rubella) and they all came back clear :)

Hope your Monday isn't going too bad! X

Kwick709 · 14/03/2016 16:32

I got my progesterone and thyroid test results a few hours ago - and am currently in cab legging it back to clinic. Apparently my prog levels are half what they should be - so they are going to change medication and I also need to up thyroid meds.
I am very unsettled and worried by this... As far as I understand it you need prog to sustain pregnancy... Just hope I am not too late :(
Ok deep breaths and PMA

Kwik - Oh dear. I hope you have caught it in time. Please try and stay positive. You know those vibes are best to help create the ideal environment for growing a little one. Remember the I am / I will mantra and what that did for the follicles... Good luck sweetie Flowers

Caution - It was very good thanks. Comedy show with Sandi Toksvig, Sue Perkins, Sara Pascoe and others. Very funny. But I didn't get home till after midnight so am shattered today. That's one thing I've really noticed over the last week or two, I've become really tired growing this little bean. Good luck with the docs appt tomorrow - good news on those results you've already had back.

INeedNewShoes · 14/03/2016 18:22

Kwick try to keep positive. This is the bonus of having your clinic monitoring you - they've identified a problem and you can address it.

It's still early days for your embryo. It may not even have implanted yet.

I hope the clinic have reassured you Flowers

Kwick709 · 14/03/2016 19:39

Thank you lovely ladies :)

So I am swapping from Lentogest to Prontogest - and this will be daily instead of 3 times a week (BTW I fessed up to my wrong day injection last week and nurse said this will not have done any harm). They are going to test me again on Saturday and then if I am preggers again on Tuesday.... blimey that may actually come around quite fast... only a week to go!

Nurse reassured me that low levels do not impact implantation and that I was not to worry.

Taydex I am very jealous of your comedy evening - I LOVE Sue Perkins and Sandi Toksvig (did you know she is going to be the new host of QI... did not think anyone could replace Stephen Fry but I think she will do a fantastic job!

pickle any news on your leg?

caution glad that your lurgy did not progress

cloud where are you? Anyway fx for wherever you may be

shoes any symptoms spotted yet? Wink

okay so any of you lovely ladies watch Neighbours?... I am trying to get into it again (as you can see I have very lofty goals!) and it is proving a tad hard what with a 10 year gap...

OP posts:
CautionHormone · 14/03/2016 19:59

Kwick - im glad that your lower prog levels don't impact implantation. Please try not to worry about it too much... I'm sure things are going smoothly, and like taydex said - remember your 'I am/I will' mantra!
We're a week into your 2ww already?! Shock that's come round really fast! Hopefully this week flies by for you.
I watch Neighbours on & off - anything you'd like to ask I'll try and answer!

Taydex I'm glad you're having a nice evening. Not so glad about the constant tiredness, but I guess it's to be expected! Thank you for well wishes in regards to Dr's tomorrow. I shall let you all know! X

CautionHormone · 14/03/2016 20:00

Taydex, I meant I'm glad you had a nice evening! Sorry, not really with it tonight! X

pickle162 · 14/03/2016 20:03

I watch neighbours :)
Oooh that's good you got to ask so many questions with the nurse about progesterone etc

So I met my very hunky surgeon today, can either have 4 x operations every 3/12 to make the scar smaller and eventually into one around 8cm line scar or can have skin graft but by just grating (eeek!) the skin off rather than donating it to another site. They have to look into costing for the skin graft as that would need to be done at the hospital but both under local which is good so need to wait for costing and then decide....wish they would hurry up. It's so hard as there isn't much info on the web about it to help me make up my mind except for the fact I don't want 4 operations so graft is seeming more appealing at the mo.feel a bit confused at the mo
Thanks for asking x

INeedNewShoes · 14/03/2016 20:07

Kwick 'spotted' is quite apt. My face has broken out in spots. If this is due to a bfp then I'll accept it as a minor downside; if it's just some random regression to teenagedom I'll be less than impressed!

Glad you've got your meds sorted and that your clinic are looking after you :)
