TTC following an ectopic pregnancy

Hi, My DH and I have been TTC for the last 8 months and finally found out I was pregnant before christmas. Since then I have been in hospital and have been treated for an ectopic pregnancy. I was given a hefty dose of Methotrexate which has made me feel rotten and should induce a miscarriage soon. We can't start TTC for 3 months now which is really hard to take as it took us a while the first time - but everything will have to be on hold until the summer now. Has anyone experienced this?

Sorry to keep you all waiting all went well 12 eggs collected all of which look good. Also dh had super sperm today, its amazing what giving up a few fags a eating better can do for your sperm. They are going to ring me and let me know how many fertilise tomorrow morning they expect about 60%. Because of my age (I am 28) and I have been pg before they are only going to put back 1 embryo on wednesday. With about a 45-50% of it being successful.
How are you all? Lissie I hope you are feeling good about not ttc and enjoying the summer. Any news about your move?

lissie · 13/08/2007 18:23

still dont really understand why they will only put one back but great news about the supersperm! was it really painful?

tbh not-ttc is really hard. we move on the 11th so am just focusing on that at the mo.

cedar12 · 13/08/2007 19:36

They only want to put one back as I would have a high chance of multiple pg. Which inturn brings increase risk of mc and ectopic and later on complication with birth etc.
It must be really hard not ttc once your on the tread mill it must be hard to get off. I think dh wants a brake if ivf dosent work, I think I would find it hard like you I always think this will be the month. Focus on the move and ds and i am sure you will be ok. Whats the new place like?

Guys

Just been diagnosed with ectopic on Monday. I'm fine. I have just posted mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1366&threadid=360724&stamp=070815125532 in response to Loneytunes. Am I scaring her unnecessarily?

Lubyloo · 15/08/2007 20:04

Cedar- wishing you all the luck in the world and sending lots of sticky, growing vibes your way. Glad you have been signed off work so you can take it easy.Have you got some nice things planned to help make the next two weeks go a little faster for you?

Hi Upsidedown,

Sorry to hear about your EP. How are you feeling? I don't think you scared Looneytunes as she said she had already considered the possibility. Have been PMSL at the mouse thread!

Upsidedowncake · 15/08/2007 20:45

Thanks Luby, Lissie and all. And v sorry to interrupt. Got myself into a bit of a state and butted in rather rudely.

Good luck Cedars. Fingers crossed for you for the 29th.

Hi all, well I have had an awful couple of days pain continued on wednesday ended up in hospital on wed afternoon. By the evening I was climbing the wall the pain was so bad first they thought it was hyperstimulation but it turn out to be an infection probably from the egg collection Had an awful night on wednesday felt a bit better after a few dose of morphine but even that didint completly work to take the pain away. Then I ended up fainting and ended up under the table by my bed at 5 in the morning! The next morning felt a lot better as they had given me some iv antibiotics over night. Came home last night still on antiobiotics but pain ok with just paracetamol. dd really upset about me being in hospital. My consultant asured me that the infection could get in the womb so shouldnt affect any thing so fingers crossed. Hope you are all do better than me.
Hello upside down cake hope your feeling ok
