TTC following an ectopic pregnancy

Hi, My DH and I have been TTC for the last 8 months and finally found out I was pregnant before christmas. Since then I have been in hospital and have been treated for an ectopic pregnancy. I was given a hefty dose of Methotrexate which has made me feel rotten and should induce a miscarriage soon. We can't start TTC for 3 months now which is really hard to take as it took us a while the first time - but everything will have to be on hold until the summer now. Has anyone experienced this?

Is that where you live? We were just in Welshpool looking around. Loved the area around there up in the hills - is it a good place to be?

What are the side effects of the Clomid? or is it that DH is exhausted?

lissie · 27/07/2007 23:33

extreme mood swings. PMS x 50000000000 (hearsay) shropshire can be lovely, depending on where you are. welshpool is gorgeous, just avoid telford (where i am) like the plague.

Genidef · 27/07/2007 23:39

Is it something like right after giving birth - that sort of thing where your body just takes over when the milk is coming in?!

Thoughts on Shrewsbury? Hubby thinks it will be hard for him to get a job in Wales not speaking Welsh! (He's a teacher) - so we're thinking of maybe a border town where he could commute to England...The place we looked at was in Pen-y-garned (sp?) - very small village but .5 hr from Bala, .5 hr from lake vywyynd (???)

lissie · 27/07/2007 23:46

shrewsbury is lovely i lived there for a while and it really is fab. oswestry is lovely too. but shrewsbury is only 20 mins from me!!!

Genidef · 27/07/2007 23:49

Well watch this space. La famille genidef could be on the move. Not this w/e though as the trains are under water!

lissie · 28/07/2007 09:35

it would be fab if you did move down here.

cedar12 · 28/07/2007 19:16

Hi Lissie and Genidef. Glad your both OK. Its so exciting looking at houses I am addicted to the property paper and we are not even thinking of moving. We moved 4 times in 6 years but we have finally found are almost perfect house in our price bracket anyway so finally settled I think but still like looking.
I hope the consultants a bit more tactful this time Lissie give us an update on Monday.
Ivf going OK but the drugs making me feel really crap now really tired and moody but have a scan on Monday then hopefully reduce the dose then.

lissie · 29/07/2007 21:22

what times your scan?

cedar12 · 30/07/2007 09:00

My scans at 3.00 its to see if my ovaries have done to sleep so they can wake them up with lots more drugs. Good Luck with your appointment today.

lissie · 30/07/2007 09:07

see you back here tonight then! will keep everything crossed for you!

cedar12 · 30/07/2007 09:19

lissie · 30/07/2007 10:33

i am not amused

Hi,

Sorry for abandoning you all but have been really struggling here. I started feeling more down and depressed as my due date got nearer and nearer. It was complicated by the fact that a friend was due on my due date. Thankfully she had her baby 2.5 weeks early so had it in May which felt like it was nowhere near my due date.I started to feel better once June 4th had finally gone.

I found out end of June that I was pregnant again. I started having HCG tests which showed that things weren't progressing as they should be and I miscarried two weeks ago. In a way it was a relief that it wasn't another EP but I feel like I am right back to square one.

I can't stop eating. I have gained 1.5 stone since October when I had my EP. Just feel very negative about everything. On top of that I have been made redundant so feel pretty crap.

Lissie I was so sorry to hear your news - how do you stay so positive?

Pink Elephant- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!. Very, very happy for you. How are you feeling?

Cedar- will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Sorry for being on such a downer

cedar12 · 30/07/2007 18:56

Hi Luby sounds like you have been having a rough time so sorry about your mc. After my first ep I found it awful as the due date approched got very depressed and spent most of my time feeling so angry with everyone. I had a few counciling sessions which did help should have had more really, Also I had some reflexology which really helped I think not sure how you would feel about that sort of thing.
Ivf is going well so far starting my 2nd lot of injections tomorrow and my ovaries have done what they should have done. So 2 more weeks of injections then egg collection. Finger crossed we get some good ones.
Lissie I think it might be worth you talking to your PALS department at your hospital. I have refered people to them at work when they have had crap treatment. They might be able to help you find out whats going on and give people a kick up the bum. I think most trust have a PALS department I really think they might be able to help.

lissie · 31/07/2007 07:47

oh luby, you have had a crap time! im so so sorry about your mc, its just not fair!

i was sure that id be pg again by my edd but now its creeping closer, sometimes it feels like every month has a date of some relevance in it {{hug}}

cedar, how did your scan go? we are already complaining about their negligiennt treatment of me so will incorporate this into our case. apparently a new consultant is starting there in oct, bit late for us tho.

Lubyloo · 07/08/2007 22:23

How is everyone? It's very quiet on here! Thanks for your kind words.I have just reread my last post and I sound like a right misery on it - sorry

How are the injections going Cedar? Do you have to do them or is DH being brave?

Sorry the hospital is messing you around so much Lissie. I hope you get the treatment you deserve soon.

lissie · 07/08/2007 22:29

luby, how are you doing? im taking a ttc break for a few months but will check in on you!

Genidef · 07/08/2007 23:21

Lissie - A break?

lissie · 08/08/2007 07:39

yes, starting to dread getting a bfp and im back on my ads, plus have my edd for my ep coming up and dont want to be in the early stages of pg when it is. also means that when we start the clomid in oct it'll be a clean slate.

cedar12 · 08/08/2007 09:27
