Thread 10 ttc#1 The one where we're all really bored of hormones, the tww and cervical mucus or Why is my eggo not preggo!?

Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Not DTD tonight, too tired and DH is upset about a few things this evening so not in the mood either. Sad

The cat café was lovely! I was really anxious going, it's the first time I've gone socialising without DH for ages...I think since November?! But proud of myself that I managed to go especially as it was somewhere I'd never been before, AND I got followed for awhile by a man who was clearly very drugged up on something Confused He then asked if he could share my umbrella (it was raining). I said no and walked off and then he stopped following me, thankfully! But yeah, enjoyed watching and stroking the cats, looking forward to taking DH sometime because he will love it too.

We live in private rented accommodation but in a couple of years we should be moving into a property my dad owns and then paying him the rent and then eventually take over that property, I realise that we are super lucky in that regard.

ElleSarcasmo · 11/02/2016 21:48

Meadow the cat cafe sounds amazing! Do they have quite cuddly cats? I wonder why nobody's come up with a dog cafe yet!

Choco you don't sound like a bitch. It's frustrating when you feel like your sibling is taken advantage of and could do better, especially when you have nieces/nephews. Flowers

SuchaJem · 11/02/2016 21:51

Well done meadow the cat cafe sounds great.

Did anyone watch Simons Choice? Am watching it now and sobbing uncontrollably. Both sleeves are soaked. The cat is asleep in my lap and is getting annoyed with my shaking I think.

Moggysinger · 11/02/2016 22:30

Are you in Leicester meadow ? My friend lives in Leicester and went to a cat cafe, sounds amazing!

Chocaholic88 · 11/02/2016 22:45

elle it just frustrates me, she lives on McDonald's and does nothing but whine how terrible her life is... there are women (like a few lovely ladies in here) who deserve to have a child, enjoy pregnancy and would cherish the whole experience yet she brushes knees and is pregnant then acts stunned that it happens! Just doesn't seem fair!

We have the choice of two university hospitals, we had to choose one at the booking appointment but we're happy with the one we've chosen (only lived in this part of the country since July last year!)

Also just occurred to us we need to move... we have a spare bedroom at the moment but moved away from friends and family for our jobs so now need another spare bedroom for Pumpkin Seed! Not stressful at all hahaha

StarkyTheDirewolf · 11/02/2016 22:56

I can totally get why that would be frustrating choc I'm frustrated for you. It does seem unfair.

Oviabitch is telling me that smoking can massively affect your chances of conceiving ... How ironic, I'm a non smoker, girl at work who unexpectedly conceived told me today that she was smoking 20 per day when she got upduffed ... !

Feefeefs · 11/02/2016 23:27

Sounds frustrating choc I think some people place very little worth on themselves as people and their abilities and women in particular can focus on the one thing they are able to do, in this case get pregnant and the attention that comes with that. But her own self worth and self esteem is obviously still low and you could argue is is not emotionally mature enough (whatever her age) to be having children.

KatOnATinRo0f · 11/02/2016 23:47

Hi all.... Haven't read anything on here alllll day today so will probably have to catch up tomorrow. Did I miss anything exciting???

Chocaholic88 · 12/02/2016 07:32

She's definitely not mature enough and it's hard because I've tried to help her quite a a few times. She's also the type to plaster their business all over Facebook and believes everything she sees about 'how guys should treat their girls/princesses' on social media, i don't think that helps to be honest. She complains she's always looking after their children, has no life or identity except being a mother but on the flip side uses no contraception and then complains shes pregnant again. Just doesn't make sense to me!

SuchaJem · 12/02/2016 08:28

Morning all happy Friday! Anyone testing this weekend? Am thinking bfp thoughts for you all xx

Evergreen15 · 12/02/2016 08:32

Starky I have that conceive plus and also the preseed with the applicators still not preggo
Choc how the hell is your SIL finding it so easy/ being so chilled about it when us here are poas like crazy??!!! I guess life goes like this, unfair at times. At least your brother is a hood role mother for the kids, and so are you. I struggle with my SIL. My brother works so hard and she is often unemployed. Whilst she is, she goes to the gym and that's it. She wont help my brother with laundry and that because "just because she is a woman..." I said, "more because he is at work all day and you are at home doing nada" they dont have children. Fast food is terrible, I hope she doesnt feed the kids that

Chocaholic88 · 12/02/2016 08:59

No idea and it makes me cross, my brother and sister at the result of IVF so I know it must bother my mum too... we have moved 3 hrs away now so I don't have to deal with her as much but all she does it put my brother down on social media. They are both still young 20 and 21... just think it's sad. My brother doesn't complain but even so it can't be easy...

Evergreen15 · 12/02/2016 09:18

Good role model not hood

Evergreen15 · 12/02/2016 09:19

Wow!! Putting him down on facebook?????? Outrageous. They are young yes. I feel for him Sad

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 12/02/2016 09:36

Morning all - lots of reading to catch up!

jem I think Snow is testing tomorrow - I have fx for her!

choc it's a really sad situation and it must be hard to watch and not say anything. I have a similar thing happening in my DHs family and from what I've seen it seems to happen where there's been low expectations on the individual and lack of ambition as a result. it's quite sad really.

So today I'm about 4-5 dpo. Still having some cramping and sore boobs now. The sore boobs thing I think is a regular symptom this time each month anyway.
Roll on next weekend for lots of poas!!

Laurenrl · 12/02/2016 09:43

Morning girls, thought I'd check in! There's hundreds of people on here now!! Good luck to all and hope I haven't missed any major news (scrolled back about 4 pages and then realised I was late for everything today!!) x

MeadowHay · 12/02/2016 10:02

Moggy No at the moment I am living abroad (temporarily), but I do know there is one in Leicestershire too because that is actually where I have been living the last couple of years but I haven't actually been to it yet, I will probably visit it when I get back there in the summer or autumn!

The cats were not super super cuddly but maybe they would be if you were a regular customer, but most of them were quite happy to get stroked and sit on a chair next to you or under your chair or on your table and things, they were mostly very confident, apart from a Bengal kitten who was a bit more skittish and sniffed my fingers but ran away when I tried to touch him, bless. They have an area in the back of the building that they can go to away from customers and things when they want to as well which is good.

Choc your SIL sounds pretty awful tbh Confused

KatOnATinRo0f · 12/02/2016 10:05

okay, catching up so way behind i'm afraid, (cue out of time comments...)

pug fx for you the witch doesnt show!

first I'm rubbish at looking at u/s, can't really make out much in there. (we dont u/s much in my job... occasionally a TMJ or salivary gland but not seen that since i was in hospital)

choc YAY!!! but thats AGES away so will take lots of brain power to figure out who won the choc sweepstakes! (Can you remember who the accountant lady who was going to help was??) and yes - re your SIL that would mightily piss me off too. and the more ive read about it the more annoyed i am at her! also ... i HATE Those people that put their whole lives on Facebook... i dont care that your baby just shat everywhere and it was gross... dont share this stuff?!

I think i missed this talk of progesterone cream? what is this and why might we need it??

miley great to see you mate! hope you enjoyed the darts (I thought that was over new year??)

elle that run looks beautiful --- what part of the world are you in??
...lol... at a dog cafe you'd just sit there holding a slobbery tennis ball while your leg got humped.

Dubya yayyy!!! hiiii!!! (really pleased to see some faces ive not seen around here for a while!!)

Does anyone want Kat's Stats today? I think i got a bit behind as there are so many of us now! but can try my best!

Chocaholic88 · 12/02/2016 11:24

Small world sucha ;)

Chocaholic88 · 12/02/2016 11:34

Interesting convo going on over on the grads thread... about how we naturally worry how our bodies will change during pregnancy... how do you ladies feel about it too?

This is my third pregnancy. I'm a size 4 naturally and expected to look like a road map after my first pregnancy. I barely put on any weight (ate healthy, exercised minimally etc) and I wasn't left with saggy boobs or stretch marks.

I think it's totally ok to be worried about your appearance. We live in a society where we HAVE to be perfect or we SHOULD feel bad...

I had a moment the other night where I asked my partner what would happen if this pregnancy 'ruined' my body...(this is his first child) he replied no such thing could happen, plus how could I not get even more beautiful by giving him a child.

I'm pretty sure we over think it... it's hard not to but pregnancy doesn't always change our bodies and if it does, not much we can do!?
