Thread 10 ttc#1 The one where we're all really bored of hormones, the tww and cervical mucus or Why is my eggo not preggo!?

Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Hurrah for fellow publishing folk! Such I'm editor of children's books at a publishing house in London. LOVE The Week Junior!

KatOnATinRo0f · 12/02/2016 12:05

Choc- i really want to know what magazine, sounds v exciting!
I'm everyone's favourite person... the dentist ;)

I'm absolutely terrified about what will happen to my body... choc you sound like one of the lucky ones. a lot of people aren't though, are they? i had major stretch marks during puberty all over my bum/hips. they are gross white lines now... I'm a size 10 and about 9.5 stone so not exactly huge (I definitely need to lose about 7 lbs though to be where i feel most comfortable, but blah). i just can imagine the whole lot going to pot and having a big saggy foo and stretch marks everywhere and :'(

im not going to think about that yet though....!!!

LaraG13 · 12/02/2016 12:45

I'm in Comms for a large national charity. We do alsorts on this thread!

choc, I'm with kat. Terrified of my body changing and getting stretch marks and putting on stones of weight I can't lose. Terrified that my vag will be huge and sex will never feel good for either of us again. Also scared of medical things like incontinence and prolapse. Saggy boobs I'm not so worried about. Maybe because mine aren't the perkiest pair in the first place, so I've learned to live with that already 😊

LaraG13 · 12/02/2016 12:52

Chocaholic88 · 12/02/2016 12:57

Haha well I basically started up the brand after deciding I didn't like the mainstream publications on offer. Did my research and realised by 2020 80% of all written media will be read in digital format and that it's also eco friendly... it literally explodedicated and already has a fab reputation for being something different from the norm but highly popular. We currently reach 2.2 million people a week via our Facebook page too which is exciting :)

More than happy to share the name of the mag if anyone wants to direct message me lol! It's not as exciting as you'd think... starky already knows lol

Chocaholic88 · 12/02/2016 12:58

Explodicated? Epic new word there 😂😂

Feefeefs · 12/02/2016 13:00

I'm everyone's second favourite person the dietitian. Ha ha.

I'm a bit worried about my body afterwards but not overly so. I first got interested in the job as a chubby teenager and though I/it would then solve all my problems. It hasn't changed much still chubby! But I think I've got a lot more body acceptance now because of all the patients I've seen from 15-95 who ALL worry about their weight/body no matter what shape or size they are. I feel confident that if something went very wrong like prolapse I would be able to get it fixed.

My DH is also extremely loving I am very lucky and I know he wouldn't care either way as long as I made the same/similar amounts of effort to keep in shape as I do now.

I think I might be high on lemsip

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 12/02/2016 13:23

choc I don't care that much about what happens to my body, I'll eat sensibly and I'll probably lose weight due to no wine !
My body isn't great to start with due to all the yoyo dieting I've done over the years.
I'm actually looking forward to it - my liver will certainly get a welcome break it needs Grin

KatOnATinRo0f · 12/02/2016 13:24

Choc I don't know how to Dm you on my phone but pls msg me and tell me what it is!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 12/02/2016 13:28

I'm a housewife! Haha, well, I make things and sell by word of mouth (not facebook!) But up until last year I worked in nightclubs full time doing promotions, podium/pole dancing, behind the bar, managing "VIP" type people. Hoping to go full time into craft at some point because I can't deal with the industry anymore. It's become too poncy and pretentious these days. Dh wouldn't have me working in the city where we live because it's too dangerous and unpredictable. I like sitting and making things more! My dsis has a little horse based creative business so I've been really interested to see how she's got on.

As for my bod, well, I've been a stripy mofo since the day after I hit puberty, ill get stretchmarks and I know I'll be lumpy but I'm hoping that by not eating too much rubbish I'll be ok! I've resigned myself to the fact that dh loves me regardless and he's already said he'll be happy whatever I look like!

Hi everyone!
Newbie here. I've been lurking on this thread and following your posts for the past couple of months whilst I impatiently waited for the agreed date to come off the pill to arrive! Took the last one last Friday so now I'm ready to join you on this crazy journey! You all seem like a fab, friendly bunch. Can't wait to POAS!

Chocaholic88 · 12/02/2016 13:59

Welcome moose ... I am loving the name. I may include it in every post I write from now on 😂😂

You'll love it hear, everyone is lovely ❤

Snowdog37 · 12/02/2016 14:07

Tfif 😜 What a busy week!!! Hello to the newbies 🍰
Haven't caught up from yesterday yet! I'm 10dpo. My temp dropped a little bit today but it's fairly steady at this point in my luteal phase compared to the last couple of months so who knows. I'm going to test tomorrow unless my temp goes down again as I think I'll be out if that happens 😖

KatOnATinRo0f · 12/02/2016 14:40

Stark when you said you worked in clubs before I wondered if u were a dancer!! You must be super strong have major envy!! That's a bit of a change to selling crafty things!!

SuchaJem · 12/02/2016 14:44

planeteer so glad someone has heard of it! I thought you would all be like The Week What???

We should do some contra activity! Editor of children’s books sounds like such a lovely job.

Hello mooseville loving your username. Wishing you a quick transition off the pill and into the world of fertile.

Figners crossed for you tomorrow snow have you had any other discernible symptoms?

SuchaJem · 12/02/2016 14:47

The body thing – I do think about it a bit. I’m a size 10-12 but have to watch what I eat as I put on weight easily. I try and avoid carbs as much as poss, or just eat the good ones like the odd sweet potato. Not sure if you should still do that when you are upduffed. I’m sure you get all sorts of useful info from midwife / gp on all that shizz though so I’m not worrying about it too much now.

Is excess weight gain in pregnancy unavoidable?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 12/02/2016 14:52

I've had many different roles and jobs over the years kat Grin I was a dancer for a looong time, least favourite thing I've done, short stilts outside while doing promo! Freezing, and bloody dangerous! You're only a couple of foot up in the air but drunk people think it's funny to run at you!

I used to be strong and supple, my body was a temple...now its more of a potting shed! Grin

Mooseville · 12/02/2016 14:56

sucha I think it depends on the person. My best friend put on 5 stone with her second - eeek! However it has all come off pretty quickly, she is 4 stone down within 8 months without trying too crazily. She just seemed to unbloat and deflate once he was out!

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone! I think you'll keep sane. I was all for coming off the pill and seeing what my cycles were like and then just seeing what happens until the date approached and I've gone crazily keen! Ha ha

Snowdog37 · 12/02/2016 15:11

sucha I don't know about symptoms as such. I get my hopes up then come crashing down when af arrives if I think something is a symptom rather than just a part of af coming anyway iyswim? But for shits and giggles here's a list of what I've noticed this month:

  • weird day or so of raised heart rate/strong heart beats (it's not as fast now but still faster than normal I think? Hard to tell if it's just because I'm getting stressy about it lol)
  • boobs are sensitive if I lay on my front
  • have a sniffly nose constantly (dh does have a bad cold/manflu though so I have it too)
  • no spotting this month (progest cream?)
  • random amounts of creamy cm, some days loads some days hardly any
  • some crampy days some no signs of anything
  • feeling tired especially on Wednesday. Had to nap in the afternoon.
  • feel freezing during the day and am a sweaty mess most nights

So... It could be af rocking up on Monday or it could be I'm upduffed. I don't know. When I compare my chart on FF to others like mine 62% are pregnancy ones. I just hate that crushing disappointment when af shows up and it's only cycle 3 😜😝😖

KatOnATinRo0f · 12/02/2016 16:20

Lol I read that as "feeling tired on Wednesday" like specifically Wednesday tiredness is a symptom.

Kwick709 · 12/02/2016 17:44

choc I guess with your SIL it is different strokes for different folks... I was kinda hoping I could have a stint on benefits after mat leave runs out Blush seeing as I have contributed a lot of ni over the years but methinks I will get zilcho given the fact I own (ok well the bank does) my flat.

I live in London, I work in HR and I travel about 60% of the time. My lovely late grandfather used always ask me "have you fired anyone today?"... I did try to tell him that my job went beyond that :) having said that of late I have been dealing with a lot of naughty people!

Progesterone gel: part of post iui/ivf protocol - nurse described it as creating nice environment for preggers to happen. Side effects: delay of af, cramps, clumping...

Tomorrow is my last day on norethisone tablets - then I should get bleed and then scans and injections start.

Kwick709 · 12/02/2016 17:53

Forgot to say: I am hoping that I will be able to get fit during pregnancy and mat leave. I am overweight and my fitness is level is low but I have already made major changes to my lifestyle and I think this will get more if I am 6th time lucky... Wishful thinking perhaps....

My osteo seems to think my back problems will improve if I do get pregnant and I am hoping it will reset my hormones as right now weight loss has only been achieved whilst taking metformin - which gives me nausea so I stopped taking.

Feefeefs · 12/02/2016 18:05

Hopefully 6th times the charm kwick meta forming is pretty good in pregnancy for keeping baby normal size and mum normal size.

I think it is possible to avoid excessive weight gain sucha.

Mileymoocow · 12/02/2016 18:07

kat thanks! Darts was amazing even though I was sober. Was fantastic watching everyone have such a good time and the fancy dress was immense.

snow I'm suspicious of your symptoms! It could be the progesterone cream, but if it is its definitely giving you upduffed symptoms.

I'm almost 6 weeks which means that 3 weeks on Sunday I get to tell our parents! I'm so excited. Living off oranges for the tine being because they're all I can face. Yet I have still put on 3lb of pure fart!
