Thread 10 ttc#1 The one where we're all really bored of hormones, the tww and cervical mucus or Why is my eggo not preggo!?

Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Heeeeeey dubs was wondering where you were up to! That's really good of your doctor, sounds like they're keen to get it sorted for you.

Long story short, there was an incident last night while dh was at work (on his own) where a large group (4 car loads) of men decided to attempt intimidation. It was unpleasant but nobody was hurt. I was irritated by it last night but by this morning it had completely upset me thinking about what could have happened. Hopefully it's being dealt with by higher ups but I'm not happy, at all. Trying to do deep mindful breathing and be calm because winding myself up will do no good.

My arms are now killing me due to painting our bedroom this afternoon. Not even finished yet, half done, will finish it off tomorrow. Anyone else do the diy in their house? I do quite a bit, not because DH is crap, he really has to be motivated to that kind of thing, if he had he's way, we'd have magnolia walls all our life lol.

LisaTheGreek · 11/02/2016 18:04

Oh no, Stark, that sounds horrible. Ok glad your OH is ok.

That's a big group of guys as well, bloody hell!

LisaTheGreek · 11/02/2016 18:06

Pugmummy - yep, you're preaching to the choir here!

We moved into our (first proper) house 18 months ago and it needed everything doing to it.

It's mainly been me (along with hired help for the big things like knocking down walls that I can't do Wink), and DH is no help at all. Sometimes he expresses an interest in helping, but he's so bad at it it just ends up doubling my time to fix what he gets wrong....

Do you have much more left to do?

KatOnATinRo0f · 11/02/2016 18:24

Harriet I have that gel too. You get so much in one application it's a bit much. I wonder if u can just use half of it.

Moggysinger · 11/02/2016 18:30

pug yes! We bought our house 6 months ago and still feels like we are living in a building site. Still not unpacked. Have attached pic of spare room. This is the baby room. If we get our bfp we have a lot of work to do, should probably get on with it! Needs total redecoration. Dh was so enthusiastic about house renovation before we moved in. I am crap with diy so am constantly waiting for him to do something. Would rather just pay someone else but not allowed!!

In other news I was rudely awoken this morning with a uti Angry
And just coming into my fw! Think we got carried away too soon with too much dtd. Now downing pints of cranberry juice and having a night off dtd. Stupid body!

Moggysinger · 11/02/2016 18:34

starky that's horrible, your poor dh! He must have been a bit shaken up??

Think I'm sold on the applicator lube ... I'm missing my usual durex play! Tmi Wink

SuchaJem · 11/02/2016 18:39

starky that sounds awful, I hope he's okay. That would totally shake me up.

Dubbya · 11/02/2016 18:40

Aw, that's worrying stark I hope the higher ups do something about it!

LillianFullStop · 11/02/2016 18:53

That sounds scary stark - I hope it's dealt with so there's no repeat incident!!

choc congrats on scan date! It's all official!

Fertility gel wise DH and I quite a fan of BalancActiv brand from Boots. They had stock issues for a while and I was like a crazy person buying out the remainder in the shelf in the one shop that still had it.

Update from me I POAS this morning and BFN. Will try again on Sunday 14 if AF doesn't show. No Star for me though as I cheated yesterday!

Kwick709 · 11/02/2016 18:55

choc so pleased you finally have scan date. Do you know if it is an internal one?

starky sounds extremely frightening. I hope you are both ok.

I just had an extremely unpleasant discussion at work where I basically felt like I was the only one to defend an employee on mat leave... Very depressing reactions from other parties...

StarkyTheDirewolf · 11/02/2016 18:59

He's been allright, he was more annoyed (after the adrenaline wore off) at the realisation that he wouldn't have actually been able to do anything if they had kicked off! He's more than capable of handling himself and ive seen him take on/down groups before. What's annoyed him is that firstly they didn't come for him, they came for one of the other lads. They did it en masse specifically for intimidation value. It's like a bunch of 12 year old bullies on the school yard! I'm furious about it, but there's nothing I can do. It all sounds ridiculous and like something off a stupid hooligan film! And I can't be doing with it!

lisa Dh is the same with diy. Thinks he's awesome, paint EVERYWHERE! Grin

Hi Lara and Dubbya Smile not seen you for a little while.

Thanks Choco Smile

Jem it was such a gorgeous day, definitely blew some cobwebs away! I'm not running as much as I would like at the moment so not at my peak of fitness but have managed 1-2 a week for the past few weeks and hoping it will get easier to keep it up now it's less cold and dark!

Thanks Harriet, I looked in Boots today and it was £15! Might have been a different brand though.I was too tight to buy it but interesting to hear it is fun as well as functional! I will have a look in superdrug next time I go past. I don't see why they can't sell it in a squeezy tube like normal lube!

Evergreen15 · 11/02/2016 19:32

Starky that is not good! Why are people so aggressive and mean?
Kwick I hear things like that at work, about people on maternity leave. It upsets me a lot as men don't have to deal with that crap
Elle I get my pressed and conceive plus on line. I refuse to buy the little sachets, expensive! (Not that preseed is cheap)

Feefeefs · 11/02/2016 19:53

Yay choc!

That's good to know miley! Boring DTD can't be the way to keep either of us stress free!

Glad you're feeling more positive elle gorgeous picture!

Are you going with 10 day FW to harriet? Don't know if we will manage today DH stressed about car issues! Straight back to it tomorrow if not!

That's awful starky no wonder you're feeling a bit stressed.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 11/02/2016 19:55

ever i think it's because they know they can make a fortune from it! They know we'll buy it, the bastards!

Got this in my basket ready to purchase when af shows. Think its a multi use one.

Starky that sounds awful! No wonder you've been feeling stressed today. Glad your DH is ok. Does he have good support/back up at work?

Thanks Evergreen, I will have a look. Where do you get yours?

Moggy don't worry, the baby will only be small! I'm sure you will be sorted by then anyway!

Thankfully I work for nhs so don't have to deal with that kind of stuff Kwick. People may not be thrilled when women take mat leave but we are well protected thankfully.

Sorry about bfn Lillian...but you're not out yet!

harrietm87 · 11/02/2016 20:06

feefs yes I am! Because I've got such different estimates from all the apps I have. I relied on ovia last month and think I missed it completely, so want to make sure I have all bases covered! I'm aiming for every other day minimum but will ramp it up at the weekend and if/when I get ewcm!

Chocaholic88 · 11/02/2016 20:09

Thanks lillian

kwick it's abdominal as far as I'm aware... maximum I will be on the day of the scan is 12+2 and the minimum with be 7+3 so there will be something to see either way.

If I'm less than 10 weeks I'll get another scan a couple of weeks after the first one so if nothing else we'll get an extra peek! (That's how I'm trying to balance if I'm set back in weeks haha)

Leaning towards that I'm the further end of the scale long though, sickness almost gone now. Just mild if I'm hungry or tired and boobs still 2 sizes bigger but not sore! Also, next to no CM so don't worry if you ladies don't get it!!

ElleSarcasmo · 11/02/2016 20:09

Thanks Starky, I've got this in my basket now.

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/reviews/B004382GWK/ref=cm_cr_dp_aw_see_rcnt?ie=UTF8&s=sd

Some of the reviews are hilarious, eg Les on 6 Dec 2015, "without wanting to sound pure dirty" heehee!

Chocaholic88 · 11/02/2016 20:11

Also found out today my SIL is 22 weeks pregnant and only had her first scan this morning. She's known since she was 4 weeks (when she missed her period) but hasn't known 'what to do or felt that bothered about seeing a midwife'... this is their third child in 3 years... is it just me or is that not only irresponsible (to ignore the pregnancy that long) or foolish to fall pregnant for the THIRD time unplanned... sorry if I sound like a bitch, it's really got to me

Peaches8Posies · 11/02/2016 20:14

Evening ladies. Fx the symptoms turn in to bfp's soon 😊

DIY we are kind of 50/50 but the clean up afterwards that's all me. Other half's good but really messy.

starky that sounds scary hopefully they won't be back.

moggy that all looks very familiar. Our spare room/hopefully baby room is the same. Im noted for taking a bit of a mad turn clearing it all out and getting it in to some sort of order but with in few months we are back to square one! One day I will conquer it haha.

ever I had a chat with the OH at start of the week we have ordered pre seed from amazon and we are going to give it a bash this cycle.

ElleSarcasmo · 11/02/2016 20:35

Choco that is really odd about your SIL! Is she odd in other ways too?

Peaches8Posies · 11/02/2016 20:38

choc congrats! You get to see your little baby soon soo exciting!!

What did the midwife say to your SIL? I agree with you unplanned or not to wait more than to get checked out is taking a massive risk.

Chocaholic88 · 11/02/2016 20:42

Yes she is bloody odd! OK don't get me wrong I'm not everyone's type of woman but I am highly ambitious and already juggle that perfectly well with being a mother.

Our brand is global, created from scratch by myself and getting bigger month on month beyond any expectations. My children are well cared for, loved, plated with, read to, interacted with and still I run a house and a job.

My SIL however sits in a Chinese takeaway 3 nights a week, can't wait to go on maternity leave apparently and will 'manage' in their council flat with 2 bedrooms.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not being judgemental - I just feel as a mum we all strive to give our kids the best start in life and I don't even mean financially. My brother does pretty much everything (putting the two they already have to bed, feeding them etc) whilst she moans she's tired or wants fast food...

The midwife is disgusted apparently but she told me she doesn't care because it's her choice... unreal.

I feel a bitch for all I've just said but it's my opinion!! Sorry if I upset anyone xx
