Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Kat I am on cycle 3 and lost my patience already. I have regained some by stopping tempting and relaxing more about it. I could not sustain it.
I am 34 and DP 38 and I am tired and I want to get upduffed soon.
But now I am just too tired so only opks.
I regret the lack of emoticons deeply.

Evergreen15 · 10/02/2016 08:51

Pink Queen Conch latinata. Not the place for it Grin

Pugmummy87 · 10/02/2016 08:52

Thanks Kat Yeah I figured until I get a bfp, I should really take it because it's antiflamatory and will help, still couldn't help that 'what i' guilt though.

Will try the salt, I'm quite militant about brushing teeth, so no problem with making sure it's clean.

I haven't actually been to the dentist for about 5 years Blush
That's really bad isn't it. Since moving up here, I just haven't got around to registering. The dental practice is moving to new premises in the next few weeks and I thought the other day, once it opens, I'll go and register.

Ladies, did you know once you are pregnant you are entitled to free prescriptions and dental care which is valid for a year after the birth too. Just ask your midwife/gp for an fw8/maternity prescription exemption form.

MeadowHay · 10/02/2016 10:19

Sorry, I went to bed not long after I asked! I am 22. Lyssie 19! I thought I would probably be the youngest but obviously not! I am worried about how my family will react if I do get pregnant, can't imagine their horror if it was when I was 19! You are brave! Although DH was only 19 when we got married, I was 20. We still get all sorts of comments now from people and I'm 22 and he will be in the summer. People can be so rude to young people sometimes I think.

FF says I am fertile today...deffo need to DTD tonight. DH not long gone to work and I won't be back from uni til after 8pm. Started temping this morning too, exciting!

SuchaJem · 10/02/2016 10:34

meadow you can’t win honestly. All I ever hear / read about is how women are leaving it too late. I feel slightly nervous that I’ve left it to 32 and that is ridiculous. You could argue that we still aren’t in an ideal position to sprog. We don’t own our own home, we rent a 1-bed garden flat. Leave others to their judgements. If you and your partner are ready then that’s all that matters.

MeadowHay · 10/02/2016 10:42

Jem, I agree totally and sorry you feel that way. To be honest I think women in general really can't do anything right in the eyes of society generally. Wishing you a speedy BFP! And obviously many women have children much older than you are with no problems Smile

Loulabelle1990 · 10/02/2016 11:00

Hi meadow I am 25, getting married in April this year.

TTC #1.

Came off pill 6th December and still no bleed for me! Currently on like CD 66! Went docs yesterday and he said it's completely normal but for peace of mind had blood tests done and referring me for ultrasound of my ovaries to make sure they're OK! Just a waiting game now!

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 10/02/2016 11:18

ever I'm the same as you, cycle 3 and I've lost patience / not even bothering to temp now!

So a weird thing happened - I'm supposed to be 2-3 dpo and I had ewcm this morning!! I'm going to opk later to make sure I'm not ovulating - again!

Snowdog37 · 10/02/2016 11:23

Jem I'm going to be 38 soon and I wonder the same thing, have I left it too late. It's only cycle 3 and it's hard not to let despondency set in that it's not going to happen.
8dpo now. Nothing's happening really. My boobs felt a bit prickly in my bra yesterday and I had some mild cramps. This is when I spotted last month so we shall see if it happens again or if the progesterone cream stops it (that's another effect, it stops mid cycle spotting if you get it and it's clearly not implantation apparently) My gut is saying the computer says no, so on the plus side I can drink over valentines weekend. I'll test on Saturday to make sure. Like I said before, it's hard to stop despondency setting in when my body isn't showing any signs that conception has taken place. I guess I'm in it for the long haul. And it's only 2 weeks til my fertile window starts again! I love and hate having 25 day cycles.

KatOnATinRo0f · 10/02/2016 12:05

zazz i'd be getting frisky again as well if i were you... if you can take any more!!! haha!

technically we were in our prime to have kids at about age 20... but life has changed so much nowadays that most people aren't in the right situation to have a baby at that age. i know i wasn't. (year 2 of a 5 year degree? that wouldn't have worked v well! And the boyf of the time... also not suitable!)

snow id prefer short cycles than long cycles, i feel like you get more chances! mine have been 26-28 days the last 6 months and thats been fine.

Af looks to have left (CD3) so i best get my blusher on! Blush

Cthulhoo · 10/02/2016 12:15

Well, crap, I think I missed most of my fw. Used opk sticks for the last couple of days, all came up with 'o' - nothing. Then this morning suddenly static smiley face - peak fertility! Where did that come from? We dtd this morning, but none in the last few days so I think my chances this cycle around are slim (if I'm even ovulating ... grr.)

SuchaJem · 10/02/2016 12:24

zazzles that is strange, did you get ewcm a few days ago as well, or are you basing your ov date on opks?

snow really hope you have better luck this month. What was the spotting about last month? Just a pre-AF thing? I guess the good thing about having a short cycle is you get to try again soon.

ctul if you dtd this am then you may still catch something. Fingers crossed.

I think I’m 4DPO and am symptom spotting left, right and centre. It’s only cycle 2 though so I find it really hard to work out if I’m just seeing things that aren’t there, or getting carried away. So far I’ve noticed insomnia, fast heart rate, persistent pains in my lower abdomen all day today, very windy, lack of energy, bloating and constipation.

I convinced myself something was happening too last month and then was disappointed. It’s so hard not to get carried away though! I was walking into work this morning and could smell someone frying onions. The aroma was so strong, my immediate thought was “I’m definitely pregnant”. Such a mental minefield!!

Peaches8Posies · 10/02/2016 12:29

Hello ladies, do you mind if I hop aboard?

First time I've used mumsnet but you guys seem really nice & possibly as crazy at symptom spotting etc.. as me 😄

Ttc#2 about to start trying in cycle number . Swore I was going to play this cool, no stress, no obsessing, but who am I kidding that was straight out the window cycle 1 haha.

Here's to many more BFPs coming VERY soon xx

AliceScarlett · 10/02/2016 13:06

Quick question: If you see stretchy, but white CM is it creamy or ew? So confused.

Welcome peaches

Cthulhoo If you dtd this morning, maybe you have timed it perfectly?!

Pug, good info, I'll be using that as soon as I get my bfp....in 2018 then Angry I'm stroppy today.

MeadowHay · 10/02/2016 13:32

Alice, if it is stretchy I would log it as EW. Especially because it's always better to assume/log the most fertile if unsure.

Cthulhoo, well if you dtd this morning maybe it will have worked its magic and been timed very well! Here's hoping!

I nearly didn't go to my lecture because of anxiety (I have an anxiety disorder), but then really pushed myself and managed to go, it's only a ten minute walk but I was really power-walking as I was on the verge of being late...only to get there and see it has been cancelled. Sigh. So back home and now having a cuppa. Headache starting now though.

Peaches8Posies · 10/02/2016 13:41

Thank you Alice. I was in that whole 'it's never going to happen frame of mind' on Monday. Sucks 😡

Meadow I suffer from anxiety too, it's horrible! Think of it as conception friendly exercise, they say walking/any cardio is great for getting the blood flow going in all the right places 😊

AliceScarlett · 10/02/2016 13:42

Meadow Nice one for going though, even though it was cancelled. Avoidance maintains anxiety!

ElleSarcasmo · 10/02/2016 14:19

Meadow I'm 34, soon to be 35. I'm worried I might have left it too late too Sad. It just didn't seem the right time until recently and DH wasn't that keen. Most of my friends are now TTC #2.

Feeling a bit fed up in cycle 4 here! I am CD 15, positive OPK (I think) Friday but failed to test Saturday. Then definitely lighter/negative Sunday. EWCM Friday. When did I ovulate wise ones?!

LOVE the fanny tap Latinata!

Welcome newbies Smile!

ElleSarcasmo · 10/02/2016 14:20

Meadow you did well to get up and get yourself out Flowers

ElleSarcasmo · 10/02/2016 14:21

Fx you got the egg Ctul!

ElleSarcasmo · 10/02/2016 14:26

Jem I know what you mean about symptom spotting! I felt slightly nauseous yesterday and got all excited...normal again today though! It's so hard not to get carried away.

SuchaJem · 10/02/2016 15:30

elle with positive opk and ewcm on Friday I'd say it happened then. Did you manage to get some quality time in with MrElle?

I'm pretty sure it was Friday for me too. We DTD Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday last week and then Monday again for good measure!

KatOnATinRo0f · 10/02/2016 16:54

Welcome peaches what cycle are you?

Meadow what are you studying?

LillianFullStop · 10/02/2016 17:04

pug my wisdom tooth has been bugging me lately too - I'll take notes from kat's advice!

2 weeks ago it was one side, then this week it's the other. True lots of mouth washing/rinsing and it does go away. I hope mine settles before my dentist appointment in 2 weeks or I'll get into trouble for not flossing again. I suspect I may have to get them out at one point as they are impacted. Scared to go under general though!!

KatOnATinRo0f · 10/02/2016 17:05

Lillian if you floss... You don't get in trouble for not flossing Wink amazing, isn't it??!!
