I looked for a January thread, but couldn't find one?? I don't think I am the only one hoping for my BFP in Jan am I ???

Fingers crossed for everyone!!

hello everyone, hope you all had a nice festive christmas. i should be hitting my ovulation time about now so it's all systems go for the next few days. I bought those ovulation testing sticks (always said i wouldn't but there you go) - anyone else using them?

MrsBeee · 28/12/2006 19:15

Nettee its a 30% chance of success during any normal cycle and most people (aged under 35) take between 6-12 months to conceive. Most dr's would not consider any fertility investigations before then, unless you are aged 35 or over, or have some sort of health problem which may may conceiving difficult anyway.

Beansprout, I think I recognise you from my last antenatal thread for DS. (I have changed my normal posting name for this thread as no-one knows we are TTC, and my mum knows I use Mumsnet so I want to keep it a secret for now!)

beansprout · 28/12/2006 19:34

Ooh, ooh, Mrs Beee - give me a clue!! Oct 04 thread?! Best of luck. The over excited child in me thinks it would be fab if we ended up on the same ante-natal thread again!!

Eight of us - that's a nice positive thought!

Is anyone else an old bird? I am 37.

Natty1806 · 28/12/2006 20:14

8 of us. now that is a positive thought. fingers crossed girls and baby dust to all.

sorry i am a young ish pup - 24 trying for my 1st but have ovulation problems. x

decorativeD2Bmum · 28/12/2006 20:15

i am cycle 7 and 20 trying for our first

8 bfps will be fantastic...but more would be even better

a/f due 6th so whos testing first

goingfor3 · 28/12/2006 21:46

I had planned on trying for baby number 3 in September next year. Dp announced on boxing day that we should go for it now so we don't have a too big age gap. I was pleasently surprised that he even suggested trying.

I have a 27/28 day cycle and should ovulate on the 6th and then test on the 20th. I concieved my other children without any problems so I hope it will be the same for this one!

Good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!!

Ammy12 · 28/12/2006 22:05

Goingfor3, I'm really excited for you!

MrsBeee · 28/12/2006 22:15

I was on the July 2004 thread but i think we must have both been agonisng over weaning, or teething, or sleepless nights on other threads since then! Second time around (if we're lucky...) i'm sure it will be so different!

beansprout · 28/12/2006 22:16

That sounds like me!! Number 2 will of course, be a doddle....!

MrsBeee · 28/12/2006 22:17

I think I'm due around 11 Jan (AGES away!) but cycle has been a bit erratic recently so who knows? I think D-day was either yesterday so I may have to log off in a minute... DH is tired out!

MrsBeee · 28/12/2006 22:18

of course it will.... we'll be professional parents by number 2!

Ready · 29/12/2006 10:36

Can't work out if I am old or young I'm 27!

Good luck Goingfor3!

Peanutbutter - All systems go huh?! Don't rely too heavily on the ov sticks, as I have "heard" that they are not completely accurate. I'm not saying don't use them, just take other factors into consideration when working out the best time!

Natty - My fingers are crossed for you more than for myself, you deserve it sweets!! You've been trying long enough! And wouldn't it be wonderful to fall before the drilling etc!!

Nettee - A hat-trick of BFPs would rock... especially a hat-trick of hat-tricks!! I read somewhere that there's a 20% chance of conceiving... so different to MrsBeee, I may have misread to be honest.

fingers crossed everyone!!!

Thanks Ready that is so nice of you. x

honeyapple · 29/12/2006 14:17

HIya,
Just a quick post.
CD6 for me today so we are going to start BDing very soon. I spoke to my big sister over xmas (she has 2 kids...both PG first month of TTCing)to get some good advice. She said she had sex EVERYDAY for 2 weeks and it worked straight away. So I have DPs full committment this month... and I gotta get my BFP! I dont want another winter baby! (2 already!)
lots of love to all
xxx

Ready · 29/12/2006 14:32

Flossam!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are you? Are you lurking?? How's it going?! Pop in flower and let us know you are ok!

OP posts:
MrsBeee · 29/12/2006 18:51

hello everyone, i hope you have all been busy...

Don't know if I am old or young either, I'm 27 too! Is anyone having positive vibes yet? Last time i just had a feeling from very early on... so it would be interesting to hear if anyone would like to speculate? I feel a bit different, but it may be caused by over excitement and anticipation!

Peanut Butter, I haven't used OV sticks myself, but have seen they are quite expensive. Let us know how you get on using them.

Decorative2BMum, what is a saliva ovulation scope ? How do you use it? It sounds really complicated!

Ready · 29/12/2006 19:53

Been getting cramps for a couple of days, a bit soon for period pains, so perhaps AF is going to arrive early hope not!! I really want my BFP this month.

Although, over Christmas I ate lots of peanuts, without even thinking!!!! I was cleaning up on Boxing Day evening and through away some peanut remnants, and the realisation hit me that I had been eating them!!!!! If I am pregnant now, my poor baby will have every allergy and it will be all my bloody fault! What a div!

MrsBeee · 29/12/2006 20:03

I wouldn't worry too much Ready. I'm sure I ate peanuts last time around, and the odd snippet of blue cheese (my craving) and even the odd glass of... wine I think you can freak yourself out too much, and its better for baby-to-be that you are feeling relaxed and chilled out rather than frantic with worry and anxiety most of the time about things you should have done or shouldn't be doing / eating / breathing etc. IMHO anyway.

Ready · 29/12/2006 20:13

MrsBeee - You have put my mind at ease!! A few peanuts can't be that devastating surely!! I am normally a logical person, but since ttc, I have been a complete and utter panic merchant!!

I have not eaten goats cheese since starting ttc - and I could live on the stuff!!! I haven't painted my nails either!! I didn't have any brie over Christmas (just the peanuts ) which I always have! I am basically a lunatic now!

MrsBeee · 29/12/2006 20:45

Def agree that TTC turns you absolutely mental! As soon as we made the decision to go for it I have been obssessed! CM, pelvic aches and pains, sex... I don't know if I can wait until 11 Jan to test! I even bought one of those early preg tests from Boots that you can use up to 4 days before you're due!

Ready · 29/12/2006 20:48

Noooooooooo! Mrs Beee!!!! Please do not test early!!! See this thread from the ClearBlueFairy

OP posts:
MrsBeee · 29/12/2006 20:56

that is a brilliant thread ready and I knooooow its so true. And I really should know better....

goingfor3 · 29/12/2006 21:03

greedyformincepies · 29/12/2006 21:14

i am on cd 21 or 22 today ( i am not sure!!!!! how cool and chilled out am I this month!!!???) anyway.....its ACTION time...so as soon as i have scoffed down my bangers and mash (YUM!!!) i am dragging dh upstairs to bed for some rumpy pumpy!!!! (it was all a bit disasterous last night-long cringy story!- so hopefully tonight will be better!!!!) i intend to sleep for 8 hours afterwards with my legs in the air!!!
