I had mine out a just under a week before AF was due so about two weeks ago now. Don't think it matters when in the cycle it comes out - I am very excited too....

Ammy12 · 18/12/2006 21:49

Do you have children already or is this your first?

Nettee · 18/12/2006 21:51

second - I have a DS who is nearly 2, remembering the pregnancy with rose tinted glasses especially as I will probably only have 2 so want to really enjoy the last one.

Ammy12 · 18/12/2006 21:53

Well good luck- lets keep each other informed!! im off to bd.........

greedyformincepies · 19/12/2006 09:14

good luck ammy! i am pleased you have decided to go for it! and if your cycle is only 25 days sometimes you do need to start bding now! when is your wedding exactly?

morning everyone else!

perve.....are you lurking? i am missing your insults!

RudolphsREADY · 19/12/2006 10:39

Beansprout!! My basal thermometer was £12.50 from Boots in the family planning aisle, with all the condoms and pregnancy tests . It came with a little booklet for charting and a little folder to keep it all in. Chooster had the same one, and she's pg now!!! So I am hoping they are lucky thermometers and that I will not be far behind

Hello everyone else, old and new Hope everyone is getting excited for the festivities next week! I haven't even bought all my presents yet!! And I am normally the most organised!

decorativeD2Bmum · 19/12/2006 11:27

ready i am looking forwrad to it all but most of all - I HAVE 2 WEEKS OFF WORK wahooo!!

me and dp started our campaign last night for real sex..

i watched a programme on bbc1 last night called a child against all odds and it just made me sob best part the way through it...seeing couples struggle with there desire for a baby but their body just doesnt function...and i sobbed even more when i thought "what if thats me?!" but thats not the attitude to have this month..

positive thoughts and real sex is the name of the game in january!!

babydust to all of you x

XmassyCharlotte · 19/12/2006 11:29

I watched that A Child Against All Odds too. It was heartbreaking. Although I wished that the midwife couple would have thought about adoption... they seemed so heartbroken and so wanted a child in their lives. I know we're all on here because we want our own children, but I really do hope that dp and I would be up for adopting if we really couldn't conceive ourselves.

decorativeD2Bmum · 19/12/2006 14:21

yeah adoption is a great thing, but it isnt for everyone.
i have discussed this with dp and he would not consider adoption should the worst happen years down the line. i would prefer to have my own children like most but i would also adopt..this is where me and dp differ greatly with our views on things.

didnt the other couple though just give you so much hope that no matter how bad things bet and how bleak the future looks that good things do happen when you perservere...they had 6/7 failed ivf attempts but on there last go the lady was pregnant with twins..how amazing is that!

Eaglebird · 19/12/2006 14:36

Hi.
I'm hoping for a bfp in January. Af arrived last night , but at least it means I can have a Xmas drink before trying again.
Good luck to everyone x

RudolphsREADY · 19/12/2006 17:40

Wow, the conversation is getting heavy I am not sure about adoption myself. This is where I show myself up to be really selfish, but for me having a baby is about me and DH making a child together and it being a mix of us. Also, adoption in this country is complex and getting a newborn is very rare, and (selfish alert)I would only adopt a newborn, because I want to do all the nappies and nurture! I think people that adopt are AMAZING! But I just don't think I could do it. I have kind of consigned myself to the fact that if we can't conceive then we won't have children. Which is a scary thought, and something I hope I never have to deal with.

RudolphsREADY · 19/12/2006 17:41

Sorry about AF Eaglebird. (hug)

Ammy12 · 19/12/2006 19:30

Hi again Greedy, wedding is in December next year so need to be quick, quick, quick!! x No pressure or anything!

greedyformincepies · 20/12/2006 11:54

hi ammy, you could go for it for a couple of months to try and have a baby before the wedding, and if that doesnt happen then you could wait a few more months and be a few months pg at your wedding!

Ammy12 · 20/12/2006 21:09

That is our plan exactly Greedy- it prob won't work out and wel be BDing furiously all through the spring and summer but hey!!

RudolphsREADY · 21/12/2006 22:49

CD13 today, coming up to OV (the 15th if all things are normal!)... feeling a little bit ambivalent about it today, what will be will be! Probably won't be saying that in a week, I'll be crying that was too ambivalent about it all, and should have done more!! So many other things to think about at the moment, we are hosting Christmas (again) and I have lots to get ready!

How is everyone?? x

RudolphsREADY · 21/12/2006 22:50

by 15th, I meant CD, in case it wasn't clear

Nettee · 22/12/2006 10:10

All seem to be quite busy with Christmas - thread has gone a bit quiet. Good luck Ready with your fertile time - I know what you mean about feeling ambivalent suddenly. I keep swinging between being really broody and keen to get going and then thinking about some of the implications of pregnancy with work and morning sickness. But in the grand scheme of things I know this is what I want and I am going to stick to the plan.

Nettee · 22/12/2006 10:13

Don't know if anyone else is using persona so will know what I am talking about but it wanted the first of the seven daily tests today (day nine) whicm means that I have to ovulate by day 15 if it is going to record it which is likely but I usually ovulate on day 14 or later so it might miss it. Why doesn't it start on day 11 or 12???? hmm complicated rant there sorry - I am sure it will be fine.....

If not I will have to do some CM spotting or just not worry about it

RudolphsREADY · 22/12/2006 12:22

Nettee, Sorry I don't use persona, so can't answer your question. Have a wonderful festive fertile period Glad I am not the only one with mixed emotions, it means I am normal (ish)

RudolphsREADY · 22/12/2006 12:31

Ladies, It's all gone quiet, understandably so!

Just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for Christmas and more importantly for 2007!! Fingers crossed that each and everyone of us gets that bundle of joy (or 2 bundles for MrsMc and Impatience )

Everyone who is testing over Christmas, all the best - and get on MN as soon as you possibly can to share your news. I just know I am going to have to sneak on throughout the holiday to see if anyone has posted... SAD or what!!!

SparklytreeAngel - I will be thinking of you, as you will be testing soon but won't be online to share you news. Fingers crossed.

And those of us who are testing in the New Year, fingers and toes crossed for a BFP. But remember, no early testing !!!!!

Season's Greetings Everyone!!!!

greedyformincepies · 22/12/2006 17:25

im still here ready! just dont have much to say for myself cos i am nowhere near fertile yet!!!
got to go and give the kids their tea now anyway, so im off!

MrsMcClaus · 22/12/2006 19:01

Ladies I just want to wish you all a very merry Christmas and lots of luck and babydust for BFPs all round in 2007!

beansprout · 22/12/2006 20:39

Rudolph - I just wanted to say that I really know what you mean about feeling ambivalent when it comes to the crunch days! That said, I somehow don't feel that ambivalence when AF arrives again and I start thinking that it's just not going to happen. Argghh! Have had a really hard day with 2yo ds today and really can't imagine how I would manage with another anyway. Boo.
