Hi all!
Me and hubby are 23, I've been off the pill since we've been married so coming up 2 years and we've been TTC for a little less than a year. I tend to go by my cm for ovulation as I have a 33day cycle, we do have regular sex through the out month too. I'm also taking folic acid. It's really starting to get to me that it's taking so long, everyone my age seems to have first time luck or getting pregnant unplanned.
Anyone have and advice or stories? I'd love to hear!!

Bailey - fx for you!! Im inly cd21 and bad enough lol xx

CharminglyGawky · 08/12/2015 22:56

Ooooh FX for you Bailey! :)

Is that an abnormally long cycle for you now? Even when mine were behaving a normal cycle for me is anywhere between 28-33 days ish... Makes knowing when to POAS tricky!

bailey23 · 09/12/2015 07:31

Well I'm out for this month :( AF landed this morning and now I feel like I normally do when it's that time.
I'd tried not to, but I'd really got my hopes up for this cycle and now I feel so deflated!
My cycles haven't quite settled yet from coming off contraception but they're normally 30ish days.
Good luck and fingers crossed to everybody still waiting!

Kellz92 · 09/12/2015 11:32

Aww no Bailey Fx for January for you. xx

BloomingR0sey · 09/12/2015 12:35

On Bailey :( try not to be disappointed! Let's hope AF has sorted it's self out now and January will be the month! At least you can let loose at Christmas! Let's hope it's the last Christmas without a little for us all!

CharminglyGawky · 09/12/2015 13:07

Sorry Bailey :(

Fx for Jan though and now maybe you can have some bubbly on Christmas Day?

bailey23 · 09/12/2015 18:47

Thanks everybody. Hopefully next month is the month for us all!

Hi, can I join??
I'm 26 and my husband and I are hoping to start TTC in the new year. I have rheumatoid arthritis and have to be off meds for 3 months before we start. I'm hoping it will happen quickly for us because without my meds I'm in almost constant pain.
I'm curious about preseed, might be worth a try when my time comes!

Kellz92 · 10/12/2015 13:47

Hi Cake welcome! Good luck to you in the new year, I have Fibromyalgia and i struggle not taking anything. Its more the pain killers i struggle without but ill get there!
I havent used preseed so cant help there but ive heard its meant to be good xx

cakesandphotos · 10/12/2015 18:01

Thanks Kellz!
I'm currently taking some anti inflammatory meds but I'll have to stop that as well :/ it'll all be worth it to have a little hand in mine one day :)

BloomingR0sey · 10/12/2015 18:22

Bailey, are you going to brave trying preseed or keep going for a little longer without?
Hi Cake!, I hope it happens quickly for you too so you're not in pain longer than you have to be! I'm out this month but next month which will be the beginning of jan I'll be trying preseed!

OP posts:
Kellz92 · 10/12/2015 20:49

Cake it will definitely be worth it xx

CharminglyGawky · 10/12/2015 22:10

Hi cake! Yes it will all be worth it one day.

I've not tried preseed but have some to start next cycle, hoping I won't need it but let's face it I probably will!

cakesandphotos · 11/12/2015 09:43

I'm a nanny and it's precious to get cuddles from the children so it'll be a million times more precious when it's my own!
How does preseed work? (Or is that TMI?!)

CharminglyGawky · 11/12/2015 11:27

I think it works by making it a more friendly environment for the sperm, it is formulated to help them swim and therefore get to where they need to! Kinda like the opposite of a spermicide! That is not a scientific response, I am not sure what I have done with my box of the stuff so I couldn't read the blurb on the back to give you a proper answer!

I am driving myself bonkers, it would really help if my cycle hadn't screwed itself up to the extent that I have no idea where I am in it! I am reasonably sure I am 19dpo and I think I might be on cd30 but I honestly don't know which is really annoying as I was actually pretty good at knowing my cycle before October/November!

cakesandphotos · 11/12/2015 19:36

Oh that sounds interesting, I might do some looking into it! I'm kind of sad that we can't just try for a few months like normal couples, we will probably have to start at the point most couples are at after a year of trying :(

bailey23 · 12/12/2015 23:38

Blooming - I'm going to have a duck it month and not try anything. I'll take my seven seas vitamins and we'll DTD when we feel like it (probably every day /every other day) ... See if this approach works haha
How are you and your DH getting on?

BloomingR0sey · 15/12/2015 12:40

Bailey, why not! A lot of people say it happens when you don't obsess on it!
We're out this month because I think I ovulated early and we had so much going on we barely got time together. I think I'll ovulate early January and we will be trying preseed then so I'm really hoping January is both of our months!

OP posts:
bailey23 · 17/12/2015 08:40

According to ovia I'm due to ovulate on Christmas Day!
I'm starting to think it's maybe not happening because I'm obsessing on it, and with it being a busy month this month any ways I don't want to stress myself out too much. I'm also debating on buying myself a 'present' every time I get my monthly visit, to lessen the blow. So it could be a pandora charm, some new make up, candles etc... Do you do anything like that? Or does that sound very brattish and pathetic?
By the way my last post wasn't meant to say duck, my autocorrect doesn't like swearing Hmm which is strange considering I do it so often! Oopsy

kiwifluff25 · 17/12/2015 09:57

Sorry to butt in, but thought it might be helpful to see if you to know about evening primrose capsules? I don't think they've been mentioned yet. I'm really crap at remembering to take supplements, but the two cycles I did remember to regularly take EPO up until ovulation I conceived (first time sadly lost the baby at 12 weeks, but I'm pregnant again now and I was taking EPO this time too). It might just be a coincidence, but it might be worth a shot?

Just remember to stop taking it mid cycle. There is evidence that it helps with ovulation, but think it is detrimental to take it past O-dates (perhaps as it's also used to soften the cervix in childbirth?).

HTH

BloomingR0sey · 17/12/2015 12:00

Bailey! I think this is the perfect time of the year to just put to the side and have 'fun' amd if it happens them YAY if not you haven't been trying technically. I love that idea of a present! Why shouldn't we, he have to deal with the bitch ha! I don't do a gift thing by when she comes I just think we'll at least it's on time so i can track it and gives us an extra month to put some money away or do something that needs doing around the house, I must admit I used to be absolutely heart broken every month but now I deffo try take the positive from it.

Kiwi, I've heard of EPO but never really looked into it, I'm not good with taking tablets but if I have no luck with preseed I think I'm definitely going to look in it! Thanks so much for mentioning it! How far are you along now? :)

OP posts:
kiwifluff25 · 17/12/2015 12:22

No problem Smile . I'm 7 weeks on Saturday so very early days yet, hopefully this time everything will be ok but it's hard trying not to get too excited just yet! Good luck!

bailey23 · 21/12/2015 07:36

Yeah my other idea was to put some money in my ISA every time I get AF, but that sounds boring haha!
I'm getting to keep off mumsnet to keep me kinda sane and stop me obsessing, so sorry I haven't been replying much! How's the Christmas planning all going?
Ooh evening primrose oil sounds good! Do you have to temp to know when to stop taking it? And congrats on the pregnancy!

Katiekins90 · 21/12/2015 12:06

Hi can I join?
I'm 25 and on Wednesday I'm having my implant taken out and hoping to conceive in the new year. I've had nothing but problems on the implant so I'm hoping my cycle isn't going to take to long to return to normal so I can track it.
baby dust too you all Smile

BloomingR0sey · 21/12/2015 23:25

Kiwi, Awh sweet! Hope this pregnancy treats you well!

Bailey, mix it up abit ha! One month present next month present! Then one month hopefully the best present for all of us!
I'm nearly finished with Christmas shopping, I managed to do it dead quick which was a relief! I'm not feeling that festive yet though :( (think I'm secretly desperate for next month to try preseed ha!) you? Another questions do you have a dog?

Katie, hi! I think we are all actually hoping the new year is the one for us ha! I really hope the implant hasn't effected you too much. How long did you have it in for?
