Looking for like-minded mums to be who are taking things as they come and fancy a friendly chat along the way.

I'm 36 and just started ttc my second. My ds is 28 mo and I still bf him once a day, most days. I understand this may affect my fertility but, although a three-ish year age gap would be nice, I'm a long way from worrying about it at this early stage. It took me a year of trying (and a mc) before ds came along so I already know what it's like to wait for good things!

Technically I'm not charting or anything (wouldn't know how) just counting roughly 10 days into my cycle and dtd as much as reasonable (!) around that time.

It might not be the most dynamic way of ttc but it suits me for now Smile

Welcome to all the newbies. Glad you could join us.

Tamara the holiday sounds fab! Glad you've enjoyed it!

I am no longer in the mood to dtd! I've lost my mojo lol! Feeling like crap...tummy aches, cramps, tiredness, slight nausea, phlegm build up (sorry tmi) which is probably causing the nausea, a blocked nose...feel so run down. Think it is ovulation as before we started ttc (before my mc), I came off the pill and started having all of these symptoms during ovulation. Problem is now I should be dtd but I can't be asked with the way I'm feeling! Just want rest!

darkpandora · 10/08/2015 19:22

so sorry your feeling so crappy Reebok hope it passes and you can be in the mood to dtd again Flowers

Bub in reply to you we are also just having sex when the mood takes us its been almost everyday not sure what's recommended either.

tamara lol at doing decorating only a short while after your back from holidays Grin glad you had a nice holiday.

dodi1978 · 10/08/2015 20:18

Let me join as well! Have DS who has just turned two years and is the best and cutest thing that has ever happened to us.

I've just gone off the pill (Cerazette). We'll use condoms for a month to help my body adjust and then really go for it.

Hoping to conceive before Christmas as this would be ideal timing work-wise for birth and maternity leave :--)) but well aware that baby No 2 may have different plans!

For DS, we only took too months to conceive... am sort of hoping it'll be similar this time. Mind you, I am 37, so not the youngest.

I really do feel quite relaxed about it, certainly more relaxed then the last time round... it wouldn't be the worst if it was just the three of us, but a sibling would be nice as well!

lostindubai · 10/08/2015 20:44

Hello Blue, Bubgal and Dodi, warm welcome to you all!

Bubgal the way dp and I did it was to start dtd as soon as AF finished, every other day for around two weeks. It was exhausting but we succeeded first time! Must say though, I hadn't been using hormonal contraception so my cycle was pretty regular when we started.

Oh Reebok you poor thing Sad I really hope you start to perk up soon.

Taking it easy Pandora? Haha not likely in this house! Today we've been chopping the bottoms off doors (to allow for the new carpet) and putting up a new roller blind in the kitchen! And back to work tomorrow. But I'm feeling ok and sleeping much better now I'm back in my own bed Smile

Dodi I'm 37 too, never felt too old for anything before until TTC!! Lol I'm sure sure it makes no difference crosses fingers!
Hope you're feeling better Reebok!
Welcome newbies, the more the merrier!!!
I looked at the NHS website re how often is best for DTD and it says every 2-3 days. I don't think more does any harm tho!

Molly28 · 11/08/2015 20:56

Hiya! Am I ok to join? I've just started TTC #2 but trying a relaxed NTNP approach for now. My cycles are all over the place, I also have lichen sclerosis so this can make regular Dtd quite difficult so I'm trying to not get too worked up about it all!

CakeLady456 · 12/08/2015 17:25

Hi Molly! Oh dear that sounds painful but def a good approach!

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 17:29

Hey guys!
I'm new to Mumsnet & new to this! Any help would be awesome!
I'm 26 & my man & me have decided to ditch the pill & try for our first!
So here's my story:
24/07/15- took last pill. I was on Cerazette & had been for approx ten years. Very rarely had any bleeding.
29/07/15- brown discharge- sorry TMI!
30/07/15- fresh red blood, hoping it was my period but had gone the next day.
10/08/15- did an ovulation test that was negative.
11/08/15- did the deed with my partner & had a very sharp pain throughout in my cervix region, that I continued to feel for the rest of the day.
For the past week or so I've been exhausted, felt varying degrees of sickness (although no vomiting) & have struggled at times to get food down, yet others been impossible to fill!
I've also been really thirsty, & craving sugary, fizzy drinks.
Is it possible I'm already pregnant or am I going baby crazy?

I'd love to make some TTC buddies to share the journey with!!

darkpandora · 12/08/2015 18:40

Hey ladies hope everyone is doing ok we got anybody poas yet?

Welcome Molly and Mrs Hughes.Smile

molly that sounds painful what Is lichen sclerosis? If you don't mind me asking. Good luck on your TTC journey

mrs Hughes I'm 26 trying for my first too Smile I'm really sorry but I can't offer any perspective on your situation as I have no idea how long it takes for implantation etc hopefully one of the awesome women on here will be along to help Smile

Molly28 · 12/08/2015 18:42

Hi MrsHughes25 it is possible you are pregnant already! Although for me it took a good six months to see any pattern with my cycles after stopping the pill the first time and during that time my body threw up all sorts of pregnancy symptoms! Will keep my fingers crossed for you though!

CakeLady456 · 12/08/2015 19:13

MrsHughes you could go from joining this thread to BFP in one day lol!

Reebok · 12/08/2015 19:53

Welcome dodi, puppy, molly and Mrs Hughes. This thread is a fantastic support network and keeps me sane. Hope it will help you too.

Feeling a little better thanks ladies. My first AF since my mc still hasn't arrived. Will be 4 weeks this weekend. Keep getting strange shooting pains in my lady parts! Lol stops me in my tracks! Kind of felt like I might start today and peeing like mad which is usually a sign but nothing yet. Decided to go out with my LO...spent the day at the beach and it was wonderful to forget about Ttc for a while especially as I have still lost my mojo and do not feel remotely like dtd! How on earth I'm going to conceive when I feel like this is beyond me! So funny considering that almost 2 weeks ago I was jumping at DH!

Reebok · 12/08/2015 19:56

mrs hughes when I went off the pill before my last mc, I had a million pregnancy symptoms including vomiting and nausea. Turned out it was because my body wasn't use to ovulation so I started experiencing some weird stuff. Knew I wasn't pregnant as we didn't start Ttc until the third month. Could be same with you especially if you have been on the pill for a while. Having said that, it's possible that you are pregnant as I conceived my daughter immediately after coming off the pill.

DeccaMitford · 12/08/2015 20:31

Evening ladies, welcome newbies!

No AF yet but I won't be POAS for a good few days as think I ovd later than expected. I'm on tenterhooks...

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 20:35

molly that doesn't sound good, hopefully the relaxed approach will work for you.

MrsHughes - what a lovely surprise it would be to find you were already pregnant! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

No poas yet for me, on CD 12 at the mo so we're dtd every other day, more if we fancy it lol. The ovia app changed my ov dates due to the data i put in so it showed as today being my most fertile day instead of 2 days time. All day I've been desperate to buy an opk pack to check, but I've resisted as I'm determined to be relaxed about it. (doesn't sound like it does it haha!) We're just going to carry on as we are Smile Still got 2 weeks to wait and I'm already going crazy!!

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 20:39

Ooo Decca! Exciting!! I hope you get your BFP!

I'm sorry to hear you're still not feeling great Reebok. Hopefully your mojo will come back soon! Interesting symptoms though!

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 21:22

Wow! Thanks everyone for being so welcoming!
I can't believe how welcoming this site is!
I'm trying not to get my hopes up but this lot with raging hormones is hard to contain!
My partner has a daughter & is so laid back, but this is all new & exciting!
I'm sure I'll have months of disappointing negatives ahead of me but the tests are burning a hole in my drawer already haha!

Wishing happy BFP for everyone! X

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 21:25

& please bare with me- I'm new to all the abbreviations too lol! X

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 22:07

Haha don't worry MrsHughes, I had to google poas earlier and I've been on here for months!
I know the feeling about the tests, I've got one in my bedside drawer and have a sneaky look at it every night lol.
