TTC - a relaxed thread.

Looking for like-minded mums to be who are taking things as they come and fancy a friendly chat along the way.

I'm 36 and just started ttc my second. My ds is 28 mo and I still bf him once a day, most days. I understand this may affect my fertility but, although a three-ish year age gap would be nice, I'm a long way from worrying about it at this early stage. It took me a year of trying (and a mc) before ds came along so I already know what it's like to wait for good things!

Technically I'm not charting or anything (wouldn't know how) just counting roughly 10 days into my cycle and dtd as much as reasonable (!) around that time.

It might not be the most dynamic way of ttc but it suits me for now

Lol cake! Don't we all!! I am too but right now I can't trust any symptoms...my hormones are so out of whack from my mc so I doubt I will be getting pregnant anytime soon even though we are not taking any precautions to prevent pregnancy.

My hormones a bit out too! Had my contraceptive implant removed a week and a bit ago and had a couple of days of quite odd mood swings!! Snapped at OH then cried then laughed at myself all within a minute!!!

Another BFP here today..v surprised & delighted!

obvs early days & hoping for a healthy pregnancy for next 8 months & not too bad morning sickness as remember it as being pretty bad last time ugh

My AF is due later this week so hoping she doesn't make an appearance either.

DH and i have hired out an electric boat and sailed around the lake on holiday and are going for dinner tonight. so all very relaxed! hope everyone else is having a good day

Thanks guys...she seems a little better. Sleeping loads which is helping...I now feel awful. Really bad constipation (sorry tmi), burping non stop which is making it hard for me to eat and bad lower back pain. Feel like I might come on soon.

Had a fab time at the wedding and managed to avoid alcohol completely. Nobody even noticed - well not that they said anyway - sitting on a table with people I'd never met before probably helped! Tell you what though, having a toddler at a wedding is immensely tiring. I forgot how much waiting around there is. So anyway I'm back home and our carpets are in and our house feels cosy which is nice. After more than 4 years it's almost finished.

Reebok sorry to hear you're feeling poorly. Would chalk tablets help? Hope you're able to get plenty of rest.

Hi everyone, I like the sound of this whole relaxed approach. We started ttc a few months ago, got pregnant on first cycle then had a very early mc after 5 weeks. Now my cycle is all over the place, so decided to just relax about the whole thing, dtd whenever the mood takes us and see what happens. I feel much better now I've realised I can't have complete control over what happens, so may as well relax and enjoy the process!

I used the word 'relax' so many times in that post I've now got Frankie goes to Hollywood stuck in my head!

haha bluepigeon that made me laugh! I'm sorry to hear about your mc, hope you're ok now. The relaxed approach seems to be working for a few of us, here's to hoping it works for the rest of us too!!

It's CD 16 here so I'm gearing up for OV so fingers crossed

Hi Dark! I'm on CD10 and OV should start in 2 days according to the ovia app. So fingers crossed! DH and I have been at it daily while on holiday, but it's all been very relaxed. Hopefully we can be as relaxed about it over the next week!

Ooh yay fingers crossed for you too! Really hope you get your BFP. Me and OH have been DTD daily as well just hope it doesn't stop now would hate to miss OV as not entirely sure when that is. Hope you are having a lovely holiday

Me- 34, TTC no.2, month no.2....am with AF at the mo so excited to get cracking next week!

In run up to ovulation interested to hear how often/which days you all do/plan on "doing" it?!

Wouldnt it be funny if we all managed to coordinate AF at the same time and all DTD at the same time?! (Diff places obvs!)

Hi bubgal! my DH and i are just doing it whenever we fancy but so far it has happened to be everyday - much to DH's delight!!

We came back off holiday today Dark, but it was almost luke a second honeymoon. very relaxed, whuch hopefully will get our baby making off to a good start! However, we were only back a few hoyrs vefore we were bored so we started doing a bit more decorating! No rest for the wicked!

Cake - it would be funny but great as we would be at the same stage! Fingers crossed for us all!

Hi Bubgal and Blue Pigeon glad you could join us. These holidays, weddings and boat trips all sound very nice & compatible with lots of DTD.

In reply to you Bub I think we were just averaging DTD around 3 times a week & that felt natural to us, not sure what is recommended though.
