Looking for like-minded mums to be who are taking things as they come and fancy a friendly chat along the way.

I'm 36 and just started ttc my second. My ds is 28 mo and I still bf him once a day, most days. I understand this may affect my fertility but, although a three-ish year age gap would be nice, I'm a long way from worrying about it at this early stage. It took me a year of trying (and a mc) before ds came along so I already know what it's like to wait for good things!

Technically I'm not charting or anything (wouldn't know how) just counting roughly 10 days into my cycle and dtd as much as reasonable (!) around that time.

It might not be the most dynamic way of ttc but it suits me for now Smile

Hey everyone hows everyone doing today?

OMG! Yay congrats dubai I'm so happy for you Grin sorry to hear about the migraine though migraines suck so much, hope it goes away for you soon.

MC's sound like the most awful thing to go through I'm so sorry so many have experienced this I hope nobody on here has to go through that again.

Can't wait till we can all join Dubai with all our BFP's and celebrate together Smile

Hope everyone has a good day today

SeriousStuff · 05/08/2015 15:32

We've sort of started TTC for #2. I'm 34 and we have one DD who is 22 months. Not planning on starting seriously until beginning of Nov but have taken a very relaxed approach to protection in the last few weeks. Would rather it just happened to be honest, rather than have to chart and calculate everything...we DTD last on 2nd Aug and most fertile period I think should be 7th - 10th so I guess it could take hold. Trying not to think too much about it but here I am on mumsnet again!

darkpandora · 05/08/2015 16:52

Welcome SeriousStuff nice to have you on board we are very relaxed on here so you will fit right in. We have vowed to keep others calm and stop the obsession if it takes hold lol Grin If you fit in a few more DTD then I think you will have a good chance it only takes one after all Smile

I'm not charting or calculating at all this is my first ever time TTC so don't 100% understand all of that just letting nature take its course and seeing what happens.

applecatchers36 · 05/08/2015 18:40

Wowzers dubai that's wonderful news, hope your migraine goes away & you get a rest before the morning sickness starts Wink, have a nice Brew and put your feet up..

Hope everyone else had a good day..

Reebok · 05/08/2015 18:53

Welcome seriousstuff. Hope you find this thread useful.

I'm absolutely shattered today. My LO is exhausting!! Actually sat here pondering once again whether it's a good idea ttc. On top of it keep getting these strange shooting pains on my left and right. Not sure if it means ovulation as I still don't know when I'm due to ovulate after my mc...far too tired to even think about dtd!

DeccaMitford · 05/08/2015 20:18

My DS has really, really been pushing my limits today, grrrr! Daddy is putting him to bed now, phew.

My friend has just had her 2nd baby so I went shopping for cute baby clothes, felt a bit gooey about the prospect of maybe doing some shopping if my own again soon...! I basically got through the boredom of 9 months of waiting last time by buying baby clothes, haha. Even had a spreadsheet to log my purchases (more interesting than my real job!)

Reebok · 05/08/2015 20:33

Haha decca here's hoping!
Think I have a serious case of pms! I'm snapping at my DH non stop today and I'm not even sure why. Just feel so angry and annoyed by him!!!

Feeling these odd bubbly type feelings now in my uterus. Not had it before so think AF is well and truly on its way. Dreading it!!!

SugarLumpFairy · 05/08/2015 21:14

Congratulations lostindubai, what amazing news. I will indeed be joining you - was having problems with using the mumsnet website on my phone but just downloaded the app. I had what might be implantation bleeding today, although a week before af due, so more waiting.... I too am taking a relaxed approach, although I agree it's so hard once you start paying attention to dates and symptoms! Fingers crossed for everyone x

Sorry, in my excitement at using the app (shows how dull things must be for me at the moment! ) I posted the same message twice. Just ignore as appropriate. I'll get the hang of it soon....

Tamara160 · 05/08/2015 22:19

Welcome SugarLumpFairy! Oo I hope it is implantation, fingers crossed for you!

Ahh Reebok, I hope the PMS settles down for you. It's awful feeling so snappy and not really being sure why. I've swung from being almost giddily happy to wanting to sob my heart out, again no idea why! Just hormones as usual lol!

Decca, i'm totally with you on the baby clothes front. They make me all soppy and cooey and teary lol. DH hates it when we walk past any in a shop as I always stop and stroke them haha!

lostindubai · 05/08/2015 22:19

Aww thanks for all your lovely messages! It's so nice to have lots of people to celebrate with Grin

Pleased to say my migraine was not too heavy and I feel fine now.

Reebok in answer to your questions we only started trying this month and I didn't notice any ovulation signs at all. We started dtd every other day from about day 6 of my cycle for around two weeks (cycle usually 28 days) and tbh it was hard work! We were both exhausted from trying to get the house finished in time for the holiday so I really didn't think anything would happen! The only early pregnancy symptom I got was the need to pee more frequently than usual. Until I got that short bleed I thought it was game over. I feel so incredibly lucky I can't tell you.

Oops forgot to say hello SeriousStuff! Welcome to the thread.

I'm going to stick around as I'd love to see you guys get your BFPs and maybe we can have a grads thread one day!

CakeLady456 · 06/08/2015 00:42

Hello! Can I join in too please! First time TTC (even had to google what that stood for!) and realising it's a minefield! Oh and congrats on the BFP! (Had to google that too!)

applecatchers36 · 06/08/2015 07:37

Welcome Sugarlump and Cakelady and yay love the idea of a grads thread Dubai

SugarLumpFairy · 06/08/2015 08:20

af today, although I know it's more than that after implantation yesterday. Gutted doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. I'm so glad I can get sone much needed support here!

SeriousStuff · 06/08/2015 08:34

Sugarlump I'm so sorry to hear that! AF is a b*tch.

SugarLumpFairy · 06/08/2015 09:48

Thanks SeriousStuff. Your comment gave me a therapeutic smile! Anyone doing anything exciting, or mundane today to take their mind off things? I'm going to ward off holidayboreditus with a trip to the garden centre with soft play. Watery coffee for me, endless scraps with other children for dc's to deal with. hey ho.

goldensunlight · 06/08/2015 10:28

Hi - I hope you don't mind me joining you here. I have been looking for a more relaxed thread of ladies for a while now!

I am 29 and have been married to my OH for 1 year and together for 6. We have been pregnant before, about a year ago, but it ended in surgery for a cervical ectopic sadly... but on a positive note at least we know we can conceive!

We have been ttc for 2 cycles now and AF just arrived today - so on to the 3rd month. We aren't charting or anything, just using general guidance on cycle timing etc and trying to enjoy it...

Congratulations lostindubai!

Reebok · 06/08/2015 10:44

sugarlump sorry to hear about AF rearing its ugly head! On the positive side...someone once told me AF is the first day of your new pregnancy! Good luck for next cycle.

Not doing anything today besides the standard cleaning/cooking.

Welcome golden! Sorry to hear about your ectopic. Here's hoping you will get your BFP soon. This thread is great. The women on here are really relaxed and positive. It's been helping me through a tough time so I hope it will help you too!

Thanks Tamara, I hope so. And Dubai thank you for sharing that info. Just realized confused about my cycle.

darkpandora · 06/08/2015 14:32

Hey ladies hope everyone is well Smile

Welcome to all the people who have joined since my last post it's lovely to have you joining us

CakeLady I'm at exactly the same point you are Smile a compete newbie to the world of TTC I was looking on the acronyms page studying it carefully for ages so I knew what everything meant lol

Had a nightmare morning was waiting for a delivery from Argos I ticked Thursday 7am-8am get up early waiting only to get at text through saying it will be delivered from 12.00-21.00Angry thankfully it arrived at about 2 so now
OH is feeling better we are our way to do some shopping and pick up everything that is needed at last.

Glad you are sticking around dubai a grads thread one day would be amazing! Grin

Tamara160 · 06/08/2015 14:49

Welcome Cakelady and goldensunlight! This thread is fab, the ladies are literally keeping me sane! It's great to talk to others who are at the same stage and not obsessing (too much) about temping etc.

Sorry to hear about your eptopic goldensunlight, but well done for looking on the brightside! Sorry about the AF, but fingers crossed for next month!

Don't worry cakelady, I still have to check the acronyms page from time to time!

Oo Reebok I like that quote! I'll keep that in mind!

Not really doing anything exciting today. I've just battled my way around Aldi and got back home to find the DH has been stripping more wallpaper, left HUGE piles of soggy wallpaper everywhere and gone off to work! Not a happy bunny! So for the rest of the day I will be mostly cleaning and tidying the house ready for holiday tomorrow, packing and then going on a walk to the postbox with my nephew (he's 5, so it's an adventure!) before nipping to see a friend later. Going to be ready for this holiday!!

InFrance2014 · 06/08/2015 15:28

Congratulations Dubai, may you be the first of many. In fact, having lurked on other threads it is heartening how many people you see over time do get pregnant. Would be interesting to know the stats in fact!

I'm going on fieldwork tomorrow for a couple of weeks, so won't be able to post much. I will be hoping that I and all the rest of you at the right cycle stage have BFPs pop up in the meantime!

DrGee · 06/08/2015 17:38

Oh congratulations Dubai you must be thrilled!

Hello to CakeLady and Golden you both also sound similar to me - first time ttc and so much to learn! I just found the acronym thread and it's Very helpful but I still have to Google new ones every now and then! Trying to curb the tendency to get obsessive about things - by just focussing on the excitement of embarking on a new journey, even though I've no idea where I'm going! Grin Fx for everyone and hope all you ladies are gearing up for a good weekend! X

CakeLady456 · 06/08/2015 17:49

Aw thanks all, and reebok I love that about af being the first day of the new pregnancy what a good way of putting a positive slant on it!
